Im getting steering wobble on hard acceleration on same bike any ideas why?
Another reviewer complained about vibrations.. Any thoughts on this..?
Is this South Africa? I was just noticing all the spiked gates and such while trying to place your accent. Looks like some areas of Southern California I grew up in, but even more fortified. Stay safe! 😮
atleast my cbr 600rr is totally different from 9000rpm. I have ridden a gsxr 1000rr and it goes from 5000rpm. I think I want a 1000cc just to have trothle input sharp. Still I like the cbr.
Nice review, thanks! What part of SA you live in? I thought the neighbourhood drive was particularly interesting.
I’m stuck between an 06, 07, or 08. I can’t decide. Any suggestions ?
Thank you! Great sound! Can you please tell me how the 1999 is better in any way than the earlyest models? Im really looking to buy one!!! Once again, thank you
Great review! I bought a K1300s a few months ago and love it. Ive even just launched my ownchannel based around it I love it so much 😂
Owned one for a few weeks. The bike is light and it handles decent but its motor is gutless and doesn’t have the pull you would expect from Japanese similar cc bike.
I'm looking at one with 18k miles for 6k$ is it worth it????
Love the sound of the bike. Horrible sound of some man randomly thought.
It's not a bad bike, BUT it's positively RIDDLED with issues and bad design decisions. Honestly, Hayabusa is MUCH better than it. Also 'Busa was made for one thing and one thing only: go fast. K1200S doesn't come close to the Busa in speed, especially the pre-2000 Busa. K12 is a touring bike that's a bit, kinda, somewhat sportish (too fat and too heavy to actually be sporty) and not made to go 300kmh or more.
Busa is a kids wannabe look at me bike! BMW is better in every way possible, I been riding mine 19 years and it’s best on the road with no competition at all. Hayabusa aka Busa are boring and suffer from can’t do anything well syndrome. Most Busa riders are in back of a pack especially when the road curves, lol. BMW all the way.
@@spaceexplorer6636 Lmao. That was a true typical BMW fanboy rant that can't be farther from the truth.
@@cya1no As a actual owner for over a decade the K12s is superior in every way to a Busa, handling, engine performance and ergonomics, you can ride all day long and handles way better than a Busa. I leave Busa’s in the dust especially in the twisties. 50k miles and no issues..hard to beat that. Do you even own a Motorcycle or just keyboard warrior !
@@spaceexplorer6636 Yup, obviously I'm a keyboard warrior cause owning a bike is a privilege only for the blessed, right? *rolls eyes* Sorry, fam, but I've ridden both, while currently owning the Beemer (sadly, cause it's a money pit) and the Suzuki has a much easier time putting a precise line through corners that you choose unlike the Beemer with whom you pray that you'll be able to stay within the lane lmao, plus it's WAY more reliable and of higher build quality. Do you know what Bavarians call BMW? Bayerische Mist Werke. GeldfressMaschinen. Etc. Not to mention Suzuki has more sensible design choices instead of just stuffing a frame with more electronics than needed and that are just thrown haphazardly everywhere and including unproven technology that failed randomly WITHIN THE FIRST YEAR of production to the point BMW had to remove it QUIETLY from production and replace it with an older model (lmao) as soon as possible. It's such a lovely thing when your brakes just randomly fail, isn't it? So heart-warming and assuring... Especially when BMW put so much attention to these same iABS brakes in all their marketing, even in the TV advert. Or the shitty quick-release fuel tap on the fuel tank that will leak fuel right onto an overheated engine and cause fires. Or the chain tensioner. Or the fuel strip that's infamous for failures across the ENTIRE BMW range for an entire decade (yep, BMW took their sweet time changing it). Or... Otoh, Busa's don't really have a bad reputation for reliability and are known to be easy to work on (signature for Suzukis); the only thing marring their rep are morons that buy them. But the same can be said about BMWs, Harleys, Ducatis, etc. Honestly, I don't hate the bike. It's a shit-show, but it's not it's fault, it's the fault of engineers who overestimated their abilities. But if you hadn't immediately started with the snobbishness that's so typical of BMW fanboys I wouldn't have returned fire, either. But either way, I've said my piece and don't see a point of continuing.
@@cya1no Well in my opinion you have to be a skilled rider, most that bash this bike are not ! So it becomes an unfair bias kinda of thing because lack of skill with a powerful motorcycle is a dangerous combination ! . It will easily keep up with supersports no problem in straights and curves, it feels at home at high speed and opening the throttle. If you trust and lean it with the proper body position it’s glued to the road, up to triple digits it will be side by side with a supersport and even pull on it but will run out of rpm sooner. Use the weight to your advantage, it has a low center of gravity and a forward positioning of pistons, all help with handling. it will take curves like no other if you trust it and have a good set of sport tires with your suspension set up right. You can get better handling and throttle response with a few simple mods and will feel like night and day difference. A Short shifter really helps and should have been from factory but easily converted. So Moral of the story is if you ride it hard and use it as intended it will reward you, if your a timid slow rider it’s not the bike for you. Ride safe !
Why put it in sports mode to then gently ride around?
I have a 2007 and love it full stop
A topbox is the most disgusting addition to any bike. I gutted the standard pipes, lovely ! Magic bike and the V4 engine ....!!!!
Lovely bikes ! We were in Golden Gate and met some Harley riders from Gauteng. We got to swopping bikes. The guy took of on my VFR and was back 5 minutes later, head hanging, saying, "I think I broke your bike !" I laughed because I knew as the Vtec kicked in it make "THAT" sound ! Told him to carry on and push the revs. He eventually came back smiling, so impressed. Two bikes in one, gentle cruising, then steek it and the Vtec took it to another level.
Great review 👍🏻 are you still keeping this vfr? Share some experience
im thinking about trading in my 17 ninja 650 for a 07 cbr600rr. 21000 miles.
I love my '07 Red & Black 600rr. It is easy to ride on the street and a ton of fun on track days. I've got a Yoshimura slip-on and PowerCommander. It runs smooth as silk and the powerband is very predictable.
I've owned my since 2005. love it. th-cam.com/video/Mb8Oh5W64a0/w-d-xo.html...th-cam.com/video/y6-GLMpOC4s/w-d-xo.html...
I owned a 2011. Lava Orange. Miss it. One if my favorite bikes.
Ja bla bla bla
Simple answer is no, I have both and the hayabusa gen1,2 and 3 is far better than my bmw,s which I also have k1200, k1300s. Always buy the hayabusa
Busa is a kids look at me bike, nowhere near the level of a K12 or K13 and totally different concept not to be compared. BMW wins out every time.
I never understood how can someone say that the gen 1 busa is better than the bmw k 1200 . I rode both and i chose the bmw . Busa is more powerful but it handles lbadly compared to the bmw and when you ride the one after the other the busa feels like someone cut your brake cables ... Minus for bmw very clunky gear box and less powerful engine in everything else is superior.
I am Restoring/Modding a 2002 XRV750 and I cannot wait to finish in a couple of weeks.... Great Review! Thanks!!
I thought the last year was 2000
12 mins of putting around. No demonstration of the viloent accelleration you claim.
Best title. Boring video.
my jaw actually dropped! badass bike
The 750 Suzy is a good bike I like Honda's had the cbx 1150 what a bike
No joke
you need to show the actual bike
"It is just set to kill... all the time" - Well I'm sold xD
❤ looooove this bike thank you for the content.
Have a 2008 sinc new. I was totally unprepared for its stunning power.I’ve had iton the track, it will handle those corners no problem and outrun everyone on the track it is very stable and easy to handle. I’ve been through through snowstorms and torrential downpours and it never let me down. Drove two up for a while, she was. Only110lbs but I didn’t notice an iota of difference in handling when I ran solo if you can pick up a used one, and they are incredibly cheap, give it serious consideration. It is lot of bike🤩
Mine, the fuel line quick disconnect broke while riding and sprayed liters of fuel over the bike and my legs till I was flagged down by another motorist. Be Warned, BMW use biodegradable plastic SHIT on things you cant see. Mines a 2007 and inspired so much confidence since I bought it new I have done 13000kms on it. I carry a fire extinguisher and a business card for a towing service every time I take the "Thing" for a ride. Bought myself a S/H 1999 zx9r as a reliable daily ride. Once on one of the many recalls, I dropped my bike at the dealer I purchased it from and after 6 weeks I rang to find out WTF was happening, They said my bike was ready but they "lost" my contact number? Anyways, when i picked it up the tyres where @1 bar, fuel light blinking, and battery was just able to start it and died weeks later. This is from my dealer!! Save your money and buy Japanese. Its better quality and ANYONE is allowed to perform a factory service without some bullshit BMW authorized repair center certificate, that just means they have the diagnostic tool for BMW only. Also forget flashing your ECU or getting much from a power commander as BMW have locked it. $500 per tyre pressure sensor every 5 years. ENJOY! 🏍🏍🏍🏍🏍🏍🏍🏍🏍🏍🏍🏍🏍🏍🏍🏍🏍🏍🏍🏍🏍🏍🏍🏍🏍🏍🏍🏍🏍🏍🏍🏍🏍🏍🏍🏍🏍🏍🏍🏍🏍🏍🏍🏍🏍🏍🏍
Can I commute on this daily from pietermaritzburg to Durban? How's the fuel economy?
I wouldnt suggest it. Just because its going to be uncomfortable long term and the seat will heat up alot in the summer making it unbearable. Id highly reccomend a Honda NC700.
I'm really liking the CBR600rr from 2007-2012 and I may buy one after this. Your accent though, is it south african?
Yes it is
this looks like a 2004 model. the 2006 model had a different triple clamp with reverse forks.
Such a good looking bike, with so much power! but...... a total nightmare when it comes to reliability, so many "Commin Proplems" is almost laughable. ABS/ESA/REAR HUB/FUEL SENSORS, The list is endless. An amazing bike let down by poor engineering (like most things from BMW really) no way I would choose this over a nice Busa 🙃
19 years on a k1200s and best reliability I’ve ever experienced, good maintenance is the key. BMW is such a well engineered machine and not the cheap feel like the Busa designed for clueless masses.
@@spaceexplorer6636 You still cannot get passed the "common issues" though? I guess that's why these can be bought for around £2k now
@@Budget-Cars-And-BikesYou are so inaccurate with your comments and information. Must be a Busa rider.
@@spaceexplorer6636 Christ.. just Goggle K1200 common problems! Plus I've had one which was a money pit, along with many others, just because yours was reliable, does not detract from the fact these are pretty bloody terrible! BTW I've never owned a Busa 🤣
The only thing I don't like with the CBR z is the kick stand. They need to be better. Have to be very cautious where you park.
I have a red 2007 xb9r, bought it about 8 months ago and I’ve fell in love with it. Parts are expensive and hard to find but it’s 110% worth it, this is the best bike I’ve ever owned. I love the way it sounds and handles, and it never fails to catch everyone’s attention. It’s a very unique and torqy motorcycle.
I have owned a 2006 (In yellow) since 2010. I just came across one at a dealership and snapped it up. I didn't think it was ugly I thought it was very unique and had a cool stance. I really knew nothing about them. The more I learned about what I had actually purchased the more I realized I had come across something special. Most certainly fun to ride. Definitely easy to ride. I would never sell it, ever. I don't take her out as much as I used to. I kinda consider it more of a museum piece now. It still turns heads when I take it out just because there's not many of them around anymore. It has a Jardine leaf-blower on it and it sounds like nothing you have ever heard.
I have an 05 CBR RR its hard to describe the feeling you feel everything your part of the bike it becones an extension of your body. Its smooth its fast its agile its comfortable.
Does it till feel pretty good with that sort of mileage? Would it be expensive to keep one of these running with higher mileage? Considering buying one with 50,000km on it.
Biggest issue on these bikes are stator snd flywheel, so if youre willing to maintain that every 100k or so you should be fine. Other general maintanance is a breeze
hope you hit 1300 subs for the busa! i also have a gen one, love it.
Legend, thank you
Nice review with good info and no bullshit. Thank you!
I have a 2006 K1200 GT same color as this but has different dash and handbars
I love my 07 cbr600rr 👍
I have an 03 vfr 800 and youykdhr have put it better when you said “this bike will make you want to take the long way hike every time” I take back roads for work since I got mine
is it better then the busa?
Sadly no
Lucky i bought a gen 1 busa.
Sorry that is your opinion
Bmw is better than a Busa in everyway ! You’ll be much happier on a bmw than a Busa that’s only built for flash and short straight line riding, Busa’s and curves don’t like each other lol. BMW was nicknamed the Busa killer when it first came out and for good reason.
Hi, Great Video; love the CBR 600RR. I have a 2012 CBR 600 RR and it is a perfect bike. Honda took the 07-08 model and perfected it in all areas for the 2012 model. If you upgrade the stock exhaust to something like the Yoshi and do a ECU flash and tune the bike will be putting out over 120HP - super smooth, slick and lighting quick with tremendous pull in any gear and at any rev range. The 07-08 never had this kind of performance. 2012 - the best of the best.
Glad you mentioned weight - love mine, but it's an absolute monster manouvering it around my garage and I was starting to think it was me! Agree though that it's fairly nimble once it gets going, and the VTEC never fails to make my heart skip a beat. Thought I knew how VTEC worked (as in the high lift cam), but I wasn't aware of the valve thing
