For as long as I can remember, I’ve always heard people tell me that one day I’ll grow out of video games because they’re for children and I’ll find more productive things to do with my time. The last time I checked, I’ve entered into what many would consider adulthood. Therefore, I think it’s high time I explore why this sentiment doesn't actually hold any weight. X (Twitter): dera...

Why Gaming STILL Isn't Respected

Have you ever wondered why, despite being around for decades, video games and gamers still seem to have a stigma attached to them? While it's not nearly as obvious as it was back in its early days, it's hard to deny that gaming still feels like a hobby for the outcast. In this video, we explore why that is and if we can do anything about it. X (Twitter): derajjp Instagram: instagram...

I need to know who is Mythra's child.
The cutscene was allright but I really felt like they spent too much time beating up rex instead of actually planning a countermeasure or even discuss why Jin was even able to break the normal laws of Physics. As that would have been far more useful to spend the two days they had to wait for rex to recover. Tho my biggest gripe is that it had to happen in Tantal as i spent days trying to find the stupid fetter for nothing but a forced loss and a dysfunctional party cutscene.
Games are a waste of time and a terrible addiction that hijacker’s your innate desire for challenge and progress.. Once your brain is wired to think that games are where the challenges and where progress matters is at, your brain will have a hard time reversing this unnatural wiring. Most will cope and claim games are essentially the same as watching movies, tv shows, etc. but It’s far worse in “ruining”/changing your brains subconscious processes that are vital to thrive in real life. Of course Movies and tv shows are the same “waste” of time, but it’s like watching a play. You aren’t messing with your challenging to progressing pathway, which video games are uniquely great at changing. This ofc depends on the type of games, but it’s the majority of modern video games that have this property. Chess is challenging in a superficial logical way, akin to mathematics. Video games are not the same as this, unless it’s a specific type of game. I can tell video game addicts can’t reverse their hardwired addiction as they’re dependent on video games and the neural behaviors it created. Even when you tell them to treat life like a video game, they can’t do it as the dependency is too great to pull themselves away from. So, video games are not something to engage in or to act like it’s not bad. Unless you strictly play multiplayer social games, like CoD games with real friends. Those can be fine in moderation, and can be healthy for a brain exercise and social cooperation and socialization. You can tell when a gamer is truly addicted when they make justifications about playing games as a major part of their lives. Akin to a bad addiction, they’re blind to the harmful and influencing effects of gaming addiction. They live life only to sustain a comfortable set of conditions and then play games for the challenging and rewarding aspects the brain needs to feel satisfied. Completely oblivious to how much of their life is being wasted in a fantasy/dopamine sucking machine. This is the epitome of a loser. One who lives for pleasure in an illusion of challenges & progress. It’s a shame these gamers aren’t conscious of this matrix they’ve fallen into. It’s such a strong addiction they have no awareness of it at all. They might think they understand it and think they are in control, but the subtlety of its grasp is the most malicious part of gaming addiction.
Yeah, there’s a kernel of truth here, but the defense that “it’s like watching a play” is weak as hell. A play, huh? Guess what, Gaming could be called interactive theater or “digital storytelling". People get all philosophical about movies and art, but slap a controller in their hands, and suddenly it’s childish? This double standard is exhausting. Let’s not pretend that passively staring at a screen is inherently superior to actively engaging with a game. Both are leisure. Neither needs to justify its existence.
You’re not getting my point though. I believe both forms are bad, and only benefit in minor ways with moderation. Video games could be considered interactive plays but that’s why there bad. It makes your brain think it’s progressing, completing obstacles, etc. Movies don’t have that, it’s just watching a story play out. Games are like engaging in a story that sucks your real life energy of working towards a goal and getting the reward when you complete the obstacles. It’s different, but some games Like FPS multiplayer games aren’t too bad in this context. It just depends on how you play them and how much it takes away from your natural desire for progress and reward. Like people spending near all day on COD trying to reach the top online rank, they’re striving for something that doesn’t matter. And that can hijack your subconscious mind into thinking games are where the important obstacles to conquer are at. It’s really more about how much games take away from your real life and how you look at games. If they suck all of your competitive energy away then there bad. If it’s for social fun and aren’t taking up a lot of time then they could be could. I just believe the vast majority of gamers are in the unhealthy side of the spectrum, even if they don’t admit to it, they’re essentially addicted to living life their hardest in games instead of in real life. I’ve seen gaming addiction take away more lives than drug addiction, in terms of wasting people’s lives. They’ll just do the bare minimum to survive with a decently comfortable life and then spend all their motivation on gaming.
@@garretmorris6237 I know what you're getting at, do not get me wrong, I was just pointing out that movies do absolutely have that, and you're making sweeping generalizations about how "it sucks your energy." It's an overreaction and an exaggeration tbh. It's ridiculous to suggest that only games (or gamers) have this problem while movies are doing everything you listed here. Explosion-based movies, cash grab blockbusters, etcetera. are the problem (that you don't seem to be complaining about). Action and horror movies promote the same dopamine energy as a random horror game (Outlast, Silent Hill, etc.). In fact, they release more of it. You're stuck in a 90s-2000s mindset if you still think they for losers. Games are better than Doomscrolling news, Netflix, social media, etc. At this point, coming from someone who doesn't even play ironically. It's almost 2025, so it's time to get with the times. It's not really that hard or deep as you make out to be, really. You're cherry-picking extreme cases to make your point, but if you look at the whole picture, it's clear that things are different. I'm not trying to convince you to change your mind, given that it seems like you're set on your opinion. I'll leave it with you, good evening 👋
I think they're still alive in the crystal and can come back one day. If we do get a xenoblade 4 i can potentially see them return in some way

This is how I feel about Monster Hunter games and then I suddenly get destroyed by a bear or a monkey
It shouldn't be respected.
It shouldn't be disrespected either
@@Incognito-eg9 I highly disagree. I openly call "gamers" losers often. I've never met a high functioning professional adult who plays games more than a few hours a month, which is rare.
gaming is a little bit like weed. you dont know who smokes occasionally, you´ve heard of nice stories about it but then you meet the pothead whos entire character definition and lifestyle is smoking weed and everything is instantly ruined. gaming is a nice pastime but a moronic lifestyle. exactly like many other things are.
Idk to me its pretty simple. Look at comicon, look at the people who play online etc. They just kinda suck and are hard to relate to. All the hours ive spent on COD and red dead redemption ive couldve gotten better at skateboarding, guitar, or rock climbing. Are these things any more important than video games? I couldnt say but what i do know is these other hobbies translates to me having experiences with people IRL Funny enough alot of my friends play video games but dont consider themselves "gamers" they stop thinking about it when they put the controller down. Most people who game don't consume media about video games, its just foreign
God I hate Rex…
From a common sense perspective, I never really understood why the aegis weren’t present, cuz we know they’re still around or Glimmer wouldn’t be
holy shit, the view count, the quality, the comments, but you only have 4k subs? TH-cam is so luck based man :( Keep up the grind!
🎉🎉🎉🎉
In my 30s, not a gamer, but ive lost friends to it. Ill tell you why gamers are losers. You disappear into them, self isolate, avoid developing coping skills, and put your life on pause for a fantansy. Its not even your own fantasy, its a corporate fantasy. Ive seen people wake up from their gamer periods in their 30s, not maturing at all. They dont fit in with the younger people now, and the rest of us have grown up and left them behind. Great you got good at a game no one cares about, stunting your personal growth, and self isolating yourself. Its why your single and lonlier than your peers. Not talking about people who casually play a game here. Im talking about people who identify as a "gamer".
I never noticed it cuz the entire English script for the game was botched because they had to rush to have the dub completed so for a simultaneous international release.
I think one of my favorite details that you normally wouldn't stop and think about until much later is that Rex and Noah share a talent art in Infinity Blade, thus retroactively implying that said blades are connected, and that Noah's blade (his real blade, not Lucky Seven) is Pneuma. Granted, It would be more lore-accurate if Matthew had some kind of tell, but I think this connection is a little more direct and concise. Besides, Matthew already has the whole parallels thing down with Ghondor II.
Im a primal creature. Im bigger and stronger, so if someone bitches about my hobbies they are wholly irrelevant and beneath me.
"video games are a waste of time" NieR Automata Ending E : How about no?
“Beating Tetris is not a life goal”? Blasphemy !

OMG, I LOVE the Xenospective series!!! Please, keep new videos coming! We'll be waiting patiently, and with bated breath. Just, don't take THIS long to make a new Xenosepctive video again, alright? 😅😂
Thanks so much for the support! I love reading comments like these. I will definitely try my best to get videos out sooner rather than later but I won't make any promises because life happens lol. I know a lot of you like the series though which gives me motivation to keep doing it so I appreciate the comment!
Its simple if you game you dont watch their ugly asses on tv making THEM monny😂
3:29 this didnt age well lol
You make a very good point when you say that TV and movies don't have much of a stigma, which is strange. they could be considered timewasters just as easily.
As a good first step towards de-devaluation of gaming as a hobby... I suggest to stop devaluating interactive movies. There's quite enough of quite good ones already, you could familiarize your friends and family with those. There's literally a Batman short series of two seasons in form of the Telltale's games - freaking everybody knows Batman and his closest associates at the moment! It's like the perfect way for action movie fans and enjoyers.
If gaming is a waste of time, watching a sporting event is a waste of time, going to the movies, a waste of time. TH-cam is a waste of time. SO! Why are you wasting our time?
The thing is, when people that don't play Videogames, think about video games, the first thing coming to mind are games like GTA or FIFA, which makes them think that video games are just that and make stupid, but don't think about games like Super Mario
This is not a problem lmao stfu
My crush playes games, my school case worker plays games, literally eveyone else plays games who I know. Yet I'm starting to lose interest and play it sometimes when I have nothing better to do. (18)
bro streamers and youtubers fucking broke now?
Good
They said TV's were a fad, the Internet was a fad, Cell phones were a fad, yet still gamers get no respect. Oh god, he is woke af. we need to gatekeep harder or it will just get 10x worse
adults hate our video games because 1. they never play our video games so they only see the bad in them, and 2. they're jealous that our games have better framerates and resolutions lol (the last one is a joke)
Im pretty sure everyschool has every kid that plays games, esport leagues for schools are rising. Gaming is more mainstream than ever, and i can't go a day without hearing an ad for razor gear at work. It doesn't really matter if some people don't "respect" people who play games. If you play games, someone doesn't respect you. Then both need to either find a different interest or leave eachother be. The videos a bit of an overreaction
Bro if can't play games, don't say it's bad and just shut up and say you don't play games. That's it
Gaming is an excellent way to create community. I know that because I follow many different games and they all have just that in common: Community. Video games are really the same as sports or cars and board games when it comes to community. Gaming can be a serious thing and it can be very inspiring. Just look at Super Mario 64, which changed the life of many people: More people made and optimised code ever since and games helped computer science in general. Lastly, gaming is interactive, so it has its place in the big media. It is merging more and more with TV and music and art and so much more ever since gaming started. Oh, and don't forget about all the people with motorical disabilities who benefit from gaming regularly, so why not make it your work as well?
Humans fear what they can't understand and say they don't trust it just because the can't understand it. Humans are truly stupid living creatures
I hate people for fact even if you're a god or a angel or just a person that just wants to live, people will always throw garbage at you with no reason
The argument is so pointless I'd almost wonder if it was a psy-op to distract us. It's a luxury and a leisure activity. You don't NEED to be doing something of "value" at all times. If doing something purely for myself is a great act of selfish desire, then I'll accept the weight of that and go to meet my gods in the knowledge that I lived in a way I choose.
gaming industry: larger than movie industry people: likes movies more than games me: ???
In my mind, if you have an issue with someone liking videogames because they "don't help you contribute anything", I better never hear about you enjoying a movie, watching a show, going to see a play, or anything like that. You better always be talking about partaking in things that'll "help allow you to contribute". It's as simple as that.
It depends on the game. ANYTHING Nintendo, everyone who plays it is greasy and stinks. Xbox is the old gen’s, PlayStation is the new gen’s
Sypherpk and ninja and nick eh 30 have commercials
15:00 Dawg u killed the video, this was all about respecting video games as much as movies and series, not about putting ourselves in the shoes of those who disrespect gaming.
Celeste is goated
Because a portion of gamers still watch Asmongold
