Cool concept, but there are a few things I disagree with or find strange: 1. Malos testing Rex's combat ability doesn't necessarily mean he wants to recruit him. Most likely, he was testing if their "key" to Pyra would be able to defend himself against any threats within the ship. If Malos truly wanted Rex to join Torna, he'd appeal to him ideologically the way he does later down the line, going on about how terrible the state of Alrest is. 2. The ship being linked to Rex isn't an ambiguous thing with full context--Rex being a Leftherian, a descendant of Addam, means he's the only one who can open the door to Pyra, and why Torna needed to take him along. 3. Rex being able to keep up with a suppressed Jin and a weakened Malos, as well as Malos seeing potential in Rex, weren't tied to Malos actually wanting to recruit him. The reasons you gave explain why Malos MIGHT want to recruit Rex, but not necessarily that he DOES. 4. An opposing force doesn't have to have a concept of taking sides--they just need to oppose. Further extrapolating Rex's line about Malos and Jin "being on our side" to him knowing they're analyzing his ability, and therefore want him on the team, is a massive leap in logic. 5. Mentioning the possibility of Malos recruiting Rex post-awakening Pyra kind of weakens your theory in and of itself: if Malos wanted Rex on his side, why wouldn't they just...not kill him? I do agree it was weird how Malos called killing Rex a "waste of time", but I think this theory is a stretch despite how interesting Rex joining Torna would be. Overall though, this video is very well-edited, and I like your constant usage of direct quotes as well as how you're one of the few TH-camrs I've seen who puts their music in the description.
I appreciate the constructive criticism as there are bound to be flaws in my logic. You are absolutely right in saying that some of these arguments are a stretch, but I will say the point of this series is to explore theoretical perspectives for fun. You definitely make some good points, but I also have some counter arguments. In response to your first point, my whole argument was centered around how Rex needing to being able to defend himself doesn’t make sense seeing as Malos, Jin, and Nia could’ve easily protected him seeing as the threats weren’t that tough. I think he wanted to get to know him and also let him prove himself before appealing to him ideologically. If he shows his hand to early and Rex doesn’t go for it, he’s got an opposing force. I personally think he was grooming Rex for the role. Your second and third points are definitely good arguments and definitely could disprove this theory but I also don’t think they for sure disprove it either. Your fourth point is also absolutely correct in that it’s a leap in logic. I just thought it was fun to consider the possibility considering the nature of the series. Your fifth point also makes perfect sense unless Jin had no idea Malos wanted to recruit Rex and killed him prematurely which is what I think is the case here. Perhaps Malos wanted to get his powers back from Pyra first and then convince Rex to join him with Pyra since I’m sure Malos knew she could be revived because she’s an aegis. I probably should’ve included that in my video though so that’s definitely on me. Overall, I make these counter arguments mainly to say there’s multiple ways to look at it and not necessarily to disprove your arguments against this theory. Again, I appreciate the feedback and I enjoy these discussions!
dude it's an absolute shame your videos don't have more view/likes, I enjoyed so much the xenospectives series up until now, and I'm eager to see what you will cook for the future
The video was still interesting and maybe it's easier for you this way, but personally I much prefer you going over as many detail as possible like the earlier parts because I enjoy the more thorough breakdowns!
Thanks for the feedback! I think it will depend on a lot. I always want to keep experimenting and trying new things with the series as I go. I think there will always be a place for more in depth episodes or even just standalone videos outside of the series that go more in depth since I definitely like doing them from time to time
what makes me sad the most is just knowing malos shows as a cameo in spoilers, because god I wish he could come back or if only we could get the backstory of alvis malos and pythra at radamanthus tower or the orbital ring being guarded by these three pilots. Or should I say, the moment when Klaus made them inmortal, IDK making blades to image and similitud to them there must be a wild story that Takahashi probably saved up in his mind. Must be nice to see Malos interact with Alvis before alvis disobeyed Santa Klaus. Anyways happy holidays as it is Dec 22th of 2023 here.
No joke I want that story more than anything in the world of Xenoblade. I’ve thought about writing fan fic about it but who knows if I’ll ever get around to doing it. Also, the Santa Klaus thing legit made me lol. Merry Christmas and happy holidays!
Great episode, its so wild to think he might have recruited Rex.
Every time I see this series, the urge to replay Xenoblade 2 comes back
Honestly, making these vids has done the same to me lol
@@DerajjParallaxlast time was few hours ago. I was in bringer of chaos at the world tree
A nice Malos and an evil Mythra is a parallel universe that I can see in the future
Honestly, I think you could maybe infer that Malos is jealous of mythra having a driver like addam so he picks up on Rex's similarities to him.

Thanks so much! That really means a lot!
You really have an eye and ear for detail. Good video again ! And for the new structure, good idea
Thanks! I appreciate that!

I have always believed Malos forced Rex to kill him at the end of the game and is talking about how he wishes Jin was his driver
New video yippee!
