I love the 45. I can't tell you how many times a missile warning stops while the missile is in flight, due to the missile fired at you losing it's radar lock with no signature to pitbull on.

Sorry I've been away and haven't been up to date with the latest beta stuff. But if you want the latest information I'd recommend the official VTOL VR discord server.

If you don't mind me asking why do you try and lock enemies with EOTS when in the f45? Just curious
So the main reason is because when they have their RADARs on unless they are close I only know the heading and so I use ETOS to try and get a full solution on them. But also since 1.8 the tracks displayed on the TSD are approximations and not the best solution to fire on. On the TSD this is shown with the shading on the bandit. If the triangle is outlined in orange but not filed in, it means that this is an approximation, or data given by someone else. If it is completely shaded in it means that I have a full solution on them. Not to mention that I could loose a partial solution at anytime. So to fix it I lock with ETOS so that I know where they are for 100% even if they go cold or turn off their RADAR. It's just a way of finding them and locking them without telling them where I am like with RADAR. Also it helps to catch sneaky players who don't have their RADARs on and don't show up on my TSD because I can just see them. Quick side note. That last thing is the reason why if you fly over enemies who don't emit they will still show up on the TSD- because the ETOS is actually always automatically scanning the general area for threats. Finally it is useful to have on head mode because it creates a bigger contrast between the enemy plane and the sky (especially on night mode) so I can see them coming further and just always be manually scanning.

Yeah, the reason is because the dev doesn't want it to be too performance heavy. Although I would love some volumetric clouds
