Thanks I use New Recruit for my army builder . I like Old World Builder , but it’s not very good at checking the list is legal , sometimes it lets you take things that aren’t quite legal.

I haven't heard of new recruit. Can you guide me to where I might find your lists? Keep up the battle reports!

If you go to newtecruit.eu you can look at tournaments and see lists , if you search for MOAB you will see my list in 12th spot 👍

Yeah , I had too much ranged fire for the dwarfs to sit back. I think dwarfs need to deploy in depth behind their ranged units so the hard hitting unit with the King is unavoidable.

@CreakyGamers Exactly! In my experience, a dwarf king and his men are a meat grinder best avoided until multiple charges can be made against him. Thank you for your hard work. Some of us rarely get to play.

Yeah they are incredibly cheap for heavy cavalry. You can either spam hordes of them to overrun our enemy or juice them up with magic banners and the big un’s upgrade.

Yeah I dont quite have enough core units for the Nomadic Waagh , but yeah boar boyz are pretty good 👍

What if wasnt in the fighting rank , can he issue or accept a challenge?

To make/accept a challenge the character needs to be in or adjacent to the fighting rank. So need to move through ranks first if he's not in position, if charged in flank for example

I dont think I had any Boar boyz in the game ?

Yeah I couldnt leave the Hierophant out where he could just zap her off the table , and the hierophant was only leadership 7 , so not very reliable for raising dead. Ive learnt my lessons , I need a lvl 4 .

Yeah I thought it might be fun , it was OK , just not reliable enough , thats why I always had 3 in ambush , to give me a decent chance of getting at least one on the table. It would be better at a 2000 points or more.

​@@CreakyGamersAlso, the scorpions have vanguard anyway, so they should be able to get into wherever they're needed fairly quickly without the ambush!

6th was a good edition , but Old world has some good points that just need tweaking.

Yeah I don’t really have an army at 1500 and lots of open ground. My army needed to beef up the archer unit.

A character that moves through the ranks to occupy a space anywhere other than within the front rank of their unit must return to their previous position immediately once their unit is no longer engaged in combat.

Looks like you cannot move within the fighting rank.

If your not in the fighting rank you can move.

Yeah he was in the "fighting rank" but only got one supporting attack because he wasn't in base to base contact with the enemy.

Yeah , I'm never real sure on when it happens and if a wizard can move along the fighting rank to a safer spot ?

They can't move if already in the fighting rank. So wizards can't hide and hero's can't move to get more attacks

I absolutely agree. Tall skinny elves, in particular, look like they are all in open order, if not skirmishing. Skaven were one of the few armies that would benefit - before 8th edition the figure designers gave skaven tails that were nighmares to rank up. Also, a lot of the 4th Edition single-pose plastics needed bigger bases - Chaos Dwarfs and High Elf spearmen in particular.

@@Swindondruid2I completely disagree All my models fit together it’s amazing Just do more to your bases I was on the fence early on in tow but once I rebased an army I was like wow this looks amazing

It's a just an old rag cut to shape then I painted some orcy type runes and stuff on it , easy to do. Then some washes over it to make it look old and worn.

Yeah , I should have warned him at the start of the game , my fault. I had a lore familiar and chose the spells for my Goblin Oddnob. So when the it came up I didn’t take the opportunity to use it , but then he left him on the edge again so I tried and miscast , it was a funny moment in the game. Game was won or lost on a single casting roll. That doesn’t come up often.

@CreakyGamers It was an epic failure moment from the Goblin though, very Orc and Goblin. I suppose a lot of the choice whether to explain it or not would come down to the mentality of the players in the tournament. I would have used it the first time after explaining it... my justification that I'd already told him and then he made the mistake.

True, but he didnt have a painted army and didnt know all the rules , so it would have been pretty mean to do , but I did try later on and failed 😬

Yeah , we have all have great ideas on how to fix it , bring things like Dragons and Peg Knights back to the pack. I think we all just want infantry blocks to be better. +1 for outnumbering +1 close order for Infantry of 5 or more models only. ( no close order bonus for dragons etc) rank bonus up to +3 for infantry Must choose Ward or Regen save , cant use both. Behemoths +1 to hit from shooting Many more tweaks we could suggest , I dont think anyone is listening. I really hope GW are awake and want to improve the game. We are enjoying the game , but it needs some repairs.

Thanks , great army choice 👍 As for Dragons , we don’t have any easy solutions, no army has any answers. Best thing to do is isolate the dragon and limit the damage and points it kills. If they have 2 Dragons then we are all in trouble 😩😩😩 Don’t send the Wyvern in to fight it he will die, use your army to kill everything else.
