Yes, you read that correctly. To market my new single, On The Brink, I am going to give away a poster autographed by Dave Gahan and Martin Gore of Depeche Mode. Here's how the contest will work:

Hey Bro. I am 74, and slow, and not great at figuring out using my phone for a photo and then SENDING it, but I'm going to work on it. I got Dave's solo album from a while back, great album, plus he did a great tune by my friend, the great songwriter Dan Penn, who I've known for 55 years! 🙂 Now trying to figure this "smart phone" out

These photos are amazing. I appreciate whenever someone is brave enough to share their stories and photos to help the rest of us round out the entire picture of what happened on 9/11. The photographs were haunting, yet some of them revealed the bravery of the first responders. Thank you, sincerely. ♥️
i have always said that the cameramen and photographers that recorded this event are severely under appreciated. they risked their lives to record one of the most massive events in modern history. braving that dust storm that’s undoubtedly filled with asbestos and all other types of horribly toxic particles. staying near/going towards the event just to have a record of it. we know so much from these photos and videos that will ensure the memory of that day remains unforgotten. they had a lot of foresight and did a very important job that day in a time where everybody didn’t have a high definition recording device on them 24/7.
There are the first pictures I’ve seen of what it was like going down the stairs. People are much further apart than I imagined.

The thing that is haunting is thinking about the number of people who died because they were reassured that everything was okay so they went back to their offices
People compalin about this on every single video but that was the right thing to do at the time. They didn't know another plane was coming. What they did know was that there were thousands of people evacuating the other building, hundreds of first responders trying to get into it, and tons of stuff falling from 80+ stories up. Why would they want another 10,000 people thrown into that mess when their building was untouched?
If a jet airliner crashed into the building next to mine, and if I knew there was fire, smoke, and debris, I would absolutely get out of my building, get away from being in such close proximity to the danger zone!

I agree. I learned that lesson from a much less significant experience. Snow storm came, and I knew I should leave work. But I was 21, and decided to wait until they said to leave. By the time they did, took me 4 hours to drive 10 miles to get home, passed countless wrecks, almost wrecked probably 5 times myself. Small event, but I took the lesson away, always do what you think is right. And when something unusual and/or dangerous is happening, get the hell out of wherever you're at.
That's why you trust your instincts and get the hell out of there.

I'm about no one mentioning the survivors - the 9/11 tribute center is dedicated to telling the stories of the survivors, especially the aftermath and the struggles that they have had. They have some excellent TH-cam videos with survivors telling their story of handling PTSD and survivor guilt.

5:45: He's is misremembering this. The PA voice never, ever said anything about a plane hitting the other building. We have the PA announcement from other sources, including 9/11 calls from inside the South Tower. He's right about being told that the South Tower was "secure."
There was more than one PA voice message that day.

I was 18 in 2001 so I have a pretty good memory of those days, and yes there definitely were flat screen TV's in 2001. Although they were not as common as they are today, many businesses had them, including lobbies, airports, banks, etc... The flat panel TV's of those days were mostly of the plasma variety as LCD displays were just starting out as computer monitors.

I saw them in Vancouver and when Martin stepped up to do his songs he got a HUGE standing ovation from the crowd...we LOVED him! He did a fabulous set. And he was so pleased and maybe a little touched with the response, it was lovely to see. You are very much appreciated sir!
