A Disturbing Descent Into Japan’s Most Infamous Mangaka
Usamaru Furuya is a well-known author, and I wanted to know more about him because of his very shocking and disturbing work. I saw that nobody has made a video about him, there were a couple but mainly on one of his manga. So I decided to do some research, read almost all his work, and make a video on him. His work is way to creative and disturbing not to share. I might do some more on other authors; who knows?

Tsuyoshi by Maruyama Kyosuke is a martial arts manga that I picked up randomly and I have mixed feelings about it. It’s so unique but also very random and out of pocket. The Most Depressing Manga I've Ever Read

Not Simple is a very short and complete manga that caught me by surprise. I read it while on break for lunch and managed to finish it. Its story reminded me a lot of Oyasumi Punpun. I don't like comparing series because they achieve different things but this story is very grounded and almost feels like a true story. Which makes me appreciate it a lot more. I wanted to explain the whole story bu...

We are back with another Matsumoto, Jiro manga and It’s even better then the last one. Ichigeki is completed and it has 49 chapters and 7 volumes. It isn't a manga that I would recommend to just anyone it's dark depressing and violent. It is also pretty grounded for a samurai manga that’s all about violence and it does a pretty good job with everything honestly. Let me know if you want more man...

The Martial Arts Manga That Rivals Baki

Tough is a heavily underrated manga, and I was surprised that no one really made a video on it so that's where I got the bright idea to create one. Even though it’s as insane and as good as Baki, it doesn’t have much fans. This manga has a prequel and a sequel. It was created by Saruwatari Tetsuya who is both the author and artist. The editing is very jarring in this video. I see there is a lot of work that was done, but it feels "overedited". I think it may be better if there were more stills and less music changes and sound effects. The excesive emphasis on these effects detracts from what you are trying to communicate. Aside from that, really interesting author and overview of his work, I'll definitely check him out.

I read through a huge chunk of OUT recently and it is an incredible read. Early on in volume 2 I think there was a brief afterword by the author that mentioned another manga called Maria that was summarized by the scanlator as a female version of OUT. I have been trying to find it so hard but all I’ve been getting is the romance comedy that feels a bit too new for that summary.

When you talk about a manga that changed you in highschool I feel that with Goodnight Punpun, it did make me feel a lot but also I needed a character to relate to in my misery. It changed me as a person and a few years ago I bought the whole series and reread it and it hits so differently. I grew from being exactly like Punpun, a warning if I continued the way I was to being so different from him as he grows. Manga can really change you as a person especially in highschool.

I actually started to read the manga and I really like it! Not to say it's as good as something like Kengan Ashura or Baki, but it's definitely fun. I kept finding myself curious about what would happen next as we see more and more of Tsuyoshi's strength and watch others climb closer and closer to his level. I think it gets especially interesting when we begin to learn about the origin of his powers

thanks for sharing this guy's art. it looks like a lot of work went into the editing. the script is a little weird though. it doesn't seem like you have a whole lot of respect for the artist, which might not be the case, but the overall vibe is: "content warning, this guy is nuts." which is kinda funny at first, but if you did read all his stuff you could look more at what common features pop up from manga to manga and connect the dots. like violence, young people and religion are common features. so maybe look up a quote from him about why he includes violence. is it cathartic for him? does he like violent media? or find a quote on how he feels about young people. did he like his job as a teacher? also, what's his opinions on religion? why does that always come up? you could also mention his own favorite manga or who inspires him. i think including that stuff would make your opinions feel more informed.
