After 5 years of service, this problem has caught up with my PSU as well.

As i still get some questions about how i fixed it? Well i didn't the only way back then was to get another PSU which was a Coolermaster V750, right now i'm using a Seasonic Prime Ultra 850 Titanium, which both working still without any issues at all in my previous system and my current one.

Same issue…after i tried on the pc ..the psu start sound clicking and some fan rgb ram light on…and then nothing on monitor…

13 years ago. That's when i started playing World of Warcraft. I was very young and i hadn't enough money to afford sub on Retail. An old friend of mine, transferred this game from his Hard Drive to my PC, since i'd a very slow internect connection. I meet many people during that time and most of them, , while i'm still leveling up in Azeroth, they're exploring the Shadowlands :) even my best friend which i used to play a lot of years with. I played on private servers that don't exist anymore and everything as been deleted: My characters, my guild, my friends characters. All i have left are memories. I started to love WoW thanks those servers, but the true secret between my love for this game was the time i spent with my friends. On World of Warcraft i've best memories of my gaming-career and of my life. After 13 years, i'm still here, watching to these videos of the player who inspired me and i'm still trying my best retail, but continuing an adventure alone is more painfull than i though. All i feel to say right now is: Blizzard, thanks for developing this game and, my friends, whatever is the region of the shadowlands you are in right now, Thanks for wonderful memories -Warbike, A random Fire Mage (Sorry for my bad english)

bad relay for the power switch, that clicking ouch.

I have a ax1200i and it’s been doing this for forever randomly too. Help someone

It's an intermittent relay issue. The relay to the fan gets stuck. 1st thing that sometimes works is turning it off and unplugging it for 7-10 minutes, plugging it back in and flipping the switch. 2nd thing is to unplug it, flip the switch back and forth really fast and then give the PSU a good jolt, a good 7 of of 10 smack from your open palm or a small hammer. (I know, crazy right???) I have had mine do this randomly once every few months over the past 3 years. Same fix every time. Do not be gentle, remember if its not working you can't break it more, lol!

Pretty sure all us Corsair "fan boys" have do this. I have a 1200 and 1500 (both AXI's) and must do this procedure every ....um couple months or so, sometimes a week long every day. Then it start working for another extended period of times. Sick of dealing with Corsair about this issue as they are both RMA'd units that experience same failure as their predecessors. I don't get angry anymore and simply prop my system on my desk and perform "the sequence". Ya, its frustrating, yet don't believe there is a better psu on the market with this kind of specs that would suit me. When they come back into stock and supply chain resumes to normal after this pandemic I will purchase another. I will try the 1600 and see if it has same issues.

SOLUTION: Had the same problem with the PC with a Corsair AX860i, 5 years old, pressed power button, didn't post, just moved the fan about 2 centimeters, that's it. Exactly like the video above, even the sound it makes. Tried these first: 1. Reseat all the RAM, still didn't work. 2. Reseat the GPU and power, didn't work 3. Unplug all 4 internal HDDs, SATA cables and power, didn't work. 4. Tried removing all: RAM, GPU, HDDs, still didn't work. 5. Finally remove the PSU (all cables removed) from the motherboard and did a self-test, PSU worked!!! So it's not the power supply!!! 6. Put PSU back into the motherboard, cables reattached, didn't work again. 7. Planned to put in a secondary working Corsair AX860i PSU from a working PC to verify...but held off on that approach. 7. Maybe it's the MSI Gaming 7 motherboard. All power off, shorted the CMOS pins.... restored power, pressed the button.... PC booted!!!!!! Hope this helps someone.

3 corsair have done the same to me. Never again buying this trash

sounds like bad caps or voltage problem and could be it needs solder on it as had board psu with this before ,but be carefull will kill you stone dead to much power as it hold charge for close to 7 months after unless you discharge the remaining power in caps

imagine losing money on 3 psus HX850I CORSAIR, aerocool gm750, Cooler master 750w mwe gold. failed within 3 years single system.

I had this exact same issue with FOUR AX1200i's that were replaced under RMA. When the 4th one failed I lost it and sent corsair a semi-angry/frustrated email. They have agreed to send me the HX1200i in return for this one. Even though the HXi is a good $100 lesser than the AXi, I just hope it's stable and wont have me worried about my PC shutting down for no reason. Now I'm just waiting for the corona thing to blow over so I can get to RMA this for hopefully the last time.

This beautiful little piece of shit Power Supply from corsair wasted more than 200 hours of my time trying to trouble shoot it and sticking to it for the sake of the power digital monitoring feature and the custom carbon pro cable mod cable kit I invested in it. Worst fucking PSU I ever had, coming from X-850 Seasonic so compact, beautiful and low key, never ever had a single issue with the older sea sonic ( that I sold unfortunately). This little piece of shit from corsair cultivated in me the phobia of powering on my super powerful and beautiful open frame Thermaltake PC in fear of the shutdown loop, such a shitty implementation of a good idea, will never buy any corsair product again.

Finally I found the issue. In my case it was cpu 4 pin power supply. I connected the wrong one and basically psu was disconnecting it. Once was working fine for while another day it was shutting down after few minutes. To be honest I didn't bother for 3 years but once i start overclocking it was every day issue. And now solved

here's the method that works for me: 1. Turn off gsync through nvidia control panel 2. go to "Manage 3d settings" > "program settings" and choose a game you want to play 3. scroll down to find "vsync" option > change settings to "adaptive/gsync" all black screen has gone completely for me monitor: asus tuf vg249q

I got mine fixed! I just set the Max FPS to 142 and the black screen flickering is gone!

On my 2nd AX860 and SAME issue!! This is the first JUNK PSU from Corsair I have ever had. Very disappointing.

This was happening to me and it ended up being switching out the sata cables that plug into the PSU with the ones they give you which say type 4. Hope this helps someone, was driving me crazy.

after 6 month with my freesync/g-sync blackscreen problem i found a solution for me, i hope this will work for you 1. open 3d settings of Nvidia Control Panel. 2. restore default settings and be sure to choose fixed monitor refresh rate, for windows in default. 3. choose GSYNC only in "applicationsettings" in each Game you want to play with. 4. Start your Game without any Black Screens! greetings from Switzerland!
