8:40 We’ll see. 3D’ish stereo is what I have displayed early on in my Yamaha headphones for being too annoying without utility. As for “beam forming” - today’s soundbars demonstrate that it’s mostly a miss. Spatial audio features however are a joy if systems integrated with each other (to a degree you can do that yourself on Linux already), i.e. your display’s puny thingies play together with speakers throughout the room, ex. as center channel or effects. - On microphones however it’s a must imho, but hardly new. Quality varies a lot though.

As much I appreciate that there's FOSS version of Atmos, I hope they don't make the same mistake when Apple launched Atmos with rushed upmixed tracks from Stereo master. Btw, speaking of upmix, there's an affordable upmixer plugin called DANU, and the demonstration video is from Michael G Wagner and demixme.

I hope everybody leaves Spotify as they are killing the music industry :( I have moved all my family to apple and away from spotify... I have also stopped putting all new music on to spotify and told all my followers to move from apple to spotify and many have done so.I think it's only a mater of time before headphone companies put loads of little speakers into headphones so you can get better Atmos sound :)

Ahhh yes , good point . Don’t try to cram Atmos into a stereo box . It was designed to allow the mix to breath .

Nice one, good thoughts. The only pro for some kind of glue is (in my opinion) when you do 'atmos first' and use a folddown of it to get the stereo master.

I am considering about era 300 also to check my mix at home and luckily see the "Hope to nope", then this video. Helpful and so enjoying to watch. Thank you.

I heard the opposite pro tools uses all the cores with the reason along with Cubase So ProTools uses all the cores

I have 2 300s for the rear connected to an arc ultra with dual sub gen 4s. Your set up isn't Dolby Atmos ready. No one speaker can do that.

Wow so if you place a pro Q 4 on the master bus above the atmos plugin it acts as a master eq? Is this only heard on binaural fold downs or can this master eq also be heard if you export an ADM? If the answer is yes to my second question is this because pro q4 is a multichannel eq or would any eq above the atmos plugin do the same thing?

So Apple Renderer is Dolby + spatial, and Dolby Renderer is only Dobly. Is there a way to monitor only Apple spatial audio without Dolby Atmos?

The average av reciever doesn't have the processing power to actually perform object placement sound ... There are at least 16 signals (elements) of extra sound .... they need processing power , also huge amounts of bitrate ....that streaming services and modern equipement can't provide. In theory it could be achieved through blue ray disks , but even then it doesn't ... .. Plus in theatre the original elements of sound are 128 , not 16-32 that exist in home cinema ....

Interesting that you say use mostly bed tracks and only a few select object tracks because I do it the other way around and use no bed tracks other than for reverb. I’ll have to try it your way. Do you still pan wide, behind you etc in the bed track?

I'm in the same boat. Currently running an M1 Mac Studio Max w 64GB RAM and a 1TB SSD. Running 600+ track ProTools 7.1 sessions. Looking at upgrading the the M4 Max Mac Studio 64/ 1TB next year.... for future proofing.

Would be worth noting what version of OS you are using, whether that be Sonoma or Sequoia... I've been using Sonoma on my M1 MacBook Pro for a few days, and Logic 11.1 takes SIGNIFICANTLY longer to load the program itself. Might be an issue on my end, but I'm super glad the issues of tracks getting out of sync is fixed. That was one of the main gripes I had when initially working in Logic Pro with Spatial Audio.

Pro Tools after an update does use the the efficiency cores. So now only Logic Pro and Ableton don't use the efficiency cores.

it must be a question of time but in the end they will optimize Logic as usual
