And the sea came all the way to the gate, unlike today. Tallinn card also covers public transport. City transport. You cannot get married online. Or divorced

Thank you so much for taking the time to create this vlog. Very thoughtful and insightful personal view of our capital. You absolutely dispel every negative anecdote of the "American tourist" and their comments when in the UK. I hope you get the opportunity to return and explore both London and the UK more widely. I lived in London twice, in the late 1970s and and 2004 - 2010. I was amazed what had changed, but also what had not changed in the intervening years. When in London again, try to think of and explore the individual neighbourhoods or 'Boroughs' as separate villages - it works and you get so much more from each local area in terms of history and culture. Take care and look forward to welcoming you back to the UK soon.

Hey lad. I really enjoy how you connected, despite being a newbie . You don't need to blow loads of money in London and have an amazing time. The rest of Blighty is amazing though. When i work (hopefully only 3 months a year) I'm whizzing about the big smoke on a motorbike, delivering blood & heart valves n stuff The best way to learn our capital, 14 hours a day on two wheels & Hanging on street corners like some sort of cyber hooker.. 😊

I forget just how big London is as someone that lives here - residents often find their corner and have plenty enough there to live in that bubble, occasionally passing through central. Hard for tourists to do, but there is an absolute abundance of gold spots away from the centre that really make the city what it is. For anyone into history, areas like Wapping, Bermondsey and the various east docks are a great place to visit for some real gems. Some of the lesser known parks and the large cemeteries are also great visits.

Obviously, not being a working class native, you won't see the horrendous side of London, which we live in daily. But yeah, London has some good points, but all are slowly dwindling.

Over half the course content of her first semester was formulated during the Age of Enlightenment. Next time definitely check out the science museum just round the corner (LITERALLY) from the natural history museum as its super fun ...especially downstairs where they have the experiments kids & adults can play with and the bubble presentation....my kids went with us several times and everyone enjoyed it...theres not too many museums as a brit that ive been too multiple times but the nh & science i always recommend 😊😊 glad you enjoyed your time in my beautiful city x ps i used to live near notting hill/portobello rd....definitely a really amazing place to spend the day x 😀

As a born and bred Londoner only New York is comparable, both are equal but different, dense and bursting with energy. Nice overview, hope you come back soon! Next time head south to Tooting for the food scene 😋

I love London but I grew up in the Chicago area. So I must be a city girl. The smaller places are fine but they get so incredibly boring. I love having all of the options of food, stores, museums, etc.

I worked at the British Museum for a year as a security guard, a while ago now. I did nights so spent many hours wandering around mummies and ancient artefacts in the dark...

Yes, it's a perfect and diverse universe for the tourist and visitor to be lost in and to wander around for days... weeks.... months...years. If you can afford it. Try to be an average EU or non-EU worker who regularly and steadily lives there...all this WOW effect would vanish. 🤭 Sorry I am speaking from my non-tourist, nor British nor American POV but as an ex Londoner;)

Ive lived in London all my life and can travel into the centre of town in just 30 mins but I take this for granted 😢 You're a very deep thinker and really interesting to listen to so I liked that aspect of ypur vlog too. I just wonder if youve ever considered reading the Bible through? The Renaissance (at least the European one) was in the 15th and 16th centuries. The 17th century was wars of religion all over the place and what you're apparently thinking of in the 18th and 19th centuries is commonly called the Industrial Revolution, not the then long-past Renaissance. The likes of James Watt, Thomas Telford and Adam Smith didn't have a lot in common with Michelangelo or Boticelli, did they?

London's people speak over 300 languages in their homes and on the streets, but you won't hear those languages tripping around the tourist junk. Neither will you learn about much that matters, though the British Museum of Grand Larceny does have a vast collection of stolen stuff, of the proceeds of crime around the world. See that 38 bus? Why not get on it and go to the end of the route at Lea Bridge? From there you might get a 55 to Leyton and Walthamstow. You won't see any tourists, but you will have found out about London - the real London. Much more interesting. You could do that in other directions, of course, you could go to Plaistow or Peckham or Archway or Willesden. As William Blake wrote "The road of excess leads to the palace of Willesden". Well, something like that anyway, I might have got a word or two wrong.
