Fan and Controller Installation for my DC Charger!
I've noticed that the temperature in my Renogy DCC50S DC-DC Charger has been going above the max operating temperature. I had seen it do it before but with the recent "heat bubble" I noticed it again and started getting concerned. I decided to pull the trigger and order a fan and temperature controller to mount in the electrical box that houses the charge controller. My hope is that by dialing the controller I can have the fan come on and at least move some air through the box and drop the temps enough to keep it in spec!

Cold, Windy Camping at Blue Valley!

I headed back to Blue Valley to do that camp-n-hike! It was bit windy and chilly, though. You can’t tell it from the video as much of the wind stayed up high but enough would dip down into camp to let you know it was Winter! I highly suggest this as a great camp area. It’s known as a “campground” but most sites are fairly far apart, save for a cluster of 4 that are situated at an intersection. ...

Well the leak has come back. It held well through some hard rains but I had a little bit of moisture in the floorboard after the last rain. I had neglected to do that and didn't go back after their comment, opting to wait and see. I may have a bit ...

This is more an installation video and my 2-cents on it. Do they make a difference? Let's find out! Intro music credit: Back to the Woods ...

    • @unclejoejeeps
      @unclejoejeeps 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thank you! This is the Smittybilt SRC rack and I installed it with a buddy of mine. One reason I chose this rack is because it has a much higher static and dynamic load rating. Meaning it can hold 700lbs parked and carry 300lbs while driving. Not that you want to carry that kind of weight but it gives you lots of wiggle room if you want say a rooftop tent plus awnings.

    Why you can buy an adjustable ball joints?

    • @unclejoejeeps
      @unclejoejeeps ปีที่แล้ว

      You can buy what are essentially sleeves, as noted, and offset ball joints as well. They are "offset" from the center of the ball join bore which will glean you a few degrees of positive or negative camber. If it was determined that the C-knuckle was forged with a bit too much of pos or neg camber you could use an offset to get some degrees back. Also, some have noted that going to taller tires may also necessitate an offset as you understandably have an outer tire edge much further from the wheels center. But there's no a solution that would give you the kind of adjustability that IFS gives and it's not really necessary for a straight-axel system. It's just different geometry. Thanks for the comment!

      I have an 08 ram 2500, recently had an alignment done and the spec sheet said -0.6* for the drivers side camber and -0.5* for the passenger side camber. I have a guy telling me that my axle is bent due to these camber specs. What do you think, is it possible that the axle is bent?

    • @unclejoejeeps
      @unclejoejeeps ปีที่แล้ว

      @@PndaS2k It''s possible that the axel tubes could be off. I know one OEM, who escapes me at the moment, had issues with tubes being bent due to the welding at the differential housing. The heat generated at those welds would pull the tubes off-plane and thus the tube wouldn't be perfectly straight.
