    Thanks for reacting to Ateez! This is one isn’t as over-the-top as most of their videos lol It was sure fun to see live though! Just like any music, there will be sub genres, and every group is going to give you their version. For that indie rock band sound, try The Rose, ONEWE, Woodz, Rolling Quartz, or Day 6. For darker concepts, try Monsta X, Aespa, Taemin, DPR Ian, Dreamcatcher, Red Velvet, or Enhypen. For that 90’s r&b flavor, try EXO, Baekhyun (who is in EXO), Kai (also in EXO), GOT7, or NCT (pick any of the 6 units lol). The Korean music well is vast and deep. Enjoy the ride! P.S don’t get too wrapped up in the lore some groups have; a lot of videos are connected, or have Easter eggs for their fandoms. Ateez fans are ATINY!

    Work was filmed in the LA area when ATEEZ was there to perform at Coachella. Though the MV seems random, it's meant to contrast against the lyrics which are about the level of serious effort needed to be successful. The MV has a lot of familiar get-rich-quick imagery like digging for gold, printing money, and golden eggs. There are subtle references too, like Willy Wonka (the golden ticket) and yes, GTA (stealing your way to fortune), but the MV starts and ends with the real key to their success: 1) their members--represented in the opening by their youngest being dug from the ground like a piece of gold (in Korea, when a group's youngest member is super talented, they're referred to as a "golden maknae" ); and 2) their efforts--represented by their oldest emerging from a golden egg saying you gotta make that money. (He's from the Park clan. Legend has it that the first Park was hatched from an egg). Both scenes reflect the lyrics theme that it's not gold that makes wealth, it's effort. I suggest Andy and Jas's reaction, if your curious about the Korean lyrics and culture in the MV. Golden Hour is going a different direction, so Work is an emptier song than a lot of their recent work. I suggest Guerrilla (metal influences), Halazia (ethereal and EDM) or Bouncy (hype) next.

    This is one of their few "brag" focused songs. It actually fits into their story line. The songs leading up to this are full of more serious themes with a deep storyline about rebellion. This song is after they have returned and now need to "make that money" upon finishing their crazy escapades. I would aim for Halazia after this if you'd like something heavy music and emotion wise, in an energetic way. One of mannnny of their songs with great impact. For Coachella they worked with a live band to alter their songs for a broader audience. This worked so well because songs like "Guerrilla" already had such a heavy rock influence. So that song, even original rendition, should be up your alley in terms of sound and lyrics. (Though I understand it may not be your cup of tea as music is subjective!)

    Most of Ateez’ songs/music videos are part of a long fictional storyline with each album being one episode of their story and 3-4 albums equaling one chapter. The plot of the story involves time travel/interdimentional travel, pirates, evil androids, speaking to your past or future self through dreams… it’s a bit complicated, but you don’t have to understand the story to enjoy the music. Golden Hour part 1 (the album that work is from) is the beginning of a new chapter and a brand new story arc that has Ateez fandom scrambling to figure out how it fits into the larger storyline. But I think you would really enjoy their music videos for: Halazia, Guerrilla, The Real, Fireworks, and Wonderland. Thanks for reacting to Ateez!

    I like how you actually tried to understand the point of the video. Most people tend to dismiss it as random visual noise lol So I'm going to try and give you some context. You're right about the video games - these are the lens through which Hanabie view almost everything. Like they even sang about putting makeup on as if it's a boss fight (Sentimental Heroine). But this here song is referencing anime - the sentai (heroic) genre in particular (and even more specifically Pretty Cure 5, which is where the "Metamorphose!" transformation line is from). However, in the West PreCure is nowhere nearly as popular as in Japan. Instead, if you google sentai you will get the Super Sentai universe, which is where the Power Rangers - the most popular such show - are from. Hence they decided to use the whole morphing thing in the translated lyrics even though it's not what they are actually singing. Beyond that the song's main idea is to present the band as heroes who have abandoned their personal "situations" for their "mission" (which is true in the sense that - apart of Chika - they seem to have almost no lives outside of the band), i.e. to play metal for those who need it. When they do that they get "loot"/"quest rewards", which is what allows them to keep transforming and "help" other people. The whole thing is nerdy af in the best ways possible 😁

    • @TwistedGunZ
      @TwistedGunZ 6 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@omnisemantic1 I absolutely love this. Hanabie is one of the harder bands to understand the exact meaning behind. Me being a nerd, I love they talked about anime and games in otaku lovely densetsu and I felt this was a continuation which I suppose is why those two conveniently battling for which I love most lol. Sounds like my nostalgia of power rangers wasn't far off also lol. Though I don't know how I feel when you mention chika being the only one with lives outside the band. In one perspective, it shows true passion for the art they do and the love they have for the music/art they create. On the other hand, I feel its always good to have an option B. Still, they are an amazing band, I wish I could really understand more of the nuances of their music. What you talk about and mention is something I wouldnt never truly grasped if I tried breaking the song down. Though it seems at face value I got the jist of what they were trying to convey lol. I also seen them in concert last night and this was the song they came out too. I got a recording on my phone of a few songs of theirs that ill mess with and maybe try uploading but they were absolutely insane. Born of osiris people were kinda iffy about but when hanabie came, I would dare say they got as big of a reception as the headline jinjer. The only time I feel like I'm with "my people", is when I'm hanging out with the Babymetal community. It's an incredible thing. I can't even put into words how all this connects us together. Even if they do rock, the musical instruments are muted and the vocals are usually high and clear. Love that you interpreted the lyrics as well.. For me, the last part of the song is, like what you said, more hopeful. But at the same time it showed the struggle, cuz it's like you were buried in rubble (like after an earthquake for example), and your only hope is the little light you see shining through the crevices. Yet, it's hopeful cuz you are looking for a reason to live (looking for a way out of your miserable situation), and with the determination that it is not supposed to be the end for you (there she said isn't it too early for us to die?). Such deep and meaningful lyrics.. Throughout the song, there were so many parts of the lyrics that really made you feel

    Hold up, all six members were playing instruments. I promise you. As for kpop… that’s a lot more debated. Some think it’s a genre while others think of it as more of an industry. I’m a genre enthusiast so personally I classify them as an idol k-rock band. They experiment with a variety of rock music. They do ballads all the way to metal. The state of the music scene in South Korea is definitely something. It is largely dominated by kpop idol groups due to the global appeal and popularity of them.

      Also sidenote, the drummer (Gun-il) graduated from Berklee so he’s got the degree to back his talent. Although they are all still super talented.

      sorry to reply here, youtube kept hiding my comments you can search up "craxilver xdinary heroes 220723' and the source should pop up. btw, craxilver and crackshot are basically the same band except with and without eunchul, the pianist, whom they met in superband2 (which they won)

    ⚡ 🍑 💕 / 🌅 Asu ga mata kuru kara. (Tomorrow will come, after all) - Scott and Tim mentioned in a recent interview that they had even more fun on this song than during their own set at FOX_FEST. It was also the first time they performed live with a vocalist. Since you asked so nicely, BABYMETAL have done quite a few collaborations. : ) I'm sure you're aware of many of these, but here's the ones I can remember. They've done 'Road of Resistance' with DragonForce guitarists Herman Li and Sam Totman, recorded 'Ijime Dame Zettai' (Nemesis version) with former Arch Enemy guitarist Christopher Amott, 'DA DA DANCE' with Tak Matsumoto from B'z, 'Oh! MAJINAI' with Joakim Brodén of Sabaton, 'PA PA YA!!' with Thai rapper F.HERO, and 'Distortion' (Metal Galaxy album version) with Alissa White-Gluz of Arch Enemy. More recent collaborations include BABYMETAL being featured on the song 'The End' with Lil Uzi Vert, Tom Morello (from Rage Against The Machine, etc.) joining them on on the song 'メタり!!' ('Metali') the Bring Me The Horizon songs 'Itch For The Cure' and 'Kingslayer', the F.HERO song 'Leave It All Behind' (along with Bodyslam), a 50/50 collab with Electric Callboy on 'RATATATA' and the TMG (Tak Matsumoto Group) song 'Eternal Flames'. They've also joined Judas Priest singer Rob Halford on stage for 'Painkiller' and 'Breaking the Law', and performed those same two songs with Red Hot Chili Pepper's drummer Chad Smith.

    Great reaction - and I completely agree with your feelings about BABYMETAL. They are exceptional, I thought I was a fan of other bands in the past, it turns out I just liked their music and went to a few concerts, bought some T-shirts and albums etc, but I had no idea how a band could really draw me in to support them and make me a real fan.🦊 This is such a good, mellow song ... and when Su-metal tells you "Its gonna be OK, all right" you just have to believe her. This song was on the Metal Galaxy album released in 2019. Tim Henson and Scott LePage from Polyphia (as you thought, a mainly instrumental Prog Rock band from Texas) provided the guitar tracks for the album, but even they didn't know what the song would sound like until they heard the album. They said it sounded like a Polyphia track, but with vocals. They really wanted the chance to play live with BABYMETAL one day. That finally happened at the FOX_FEST events where this was filmed earlier this year. They repeated the performance at one or two festivals in Europe since this as well. Enjoy the concert in November - I know you will.🤘🦊

    Great Reaction!! I think you pretty much nailed it regarding the draw Babymetal has. It's like a person feels genuine pride in them, as though they're you're own family. I'm sure it comes partly from them starting out so young and having such a sweet nature, it's pretty hard not to want to cheer for them. Of course the beauty of it is, they earn every tiny bit of the praise they get.
