Jayflex Crossgrips Pull Up Handles Overview and Review
Amazing video, thank you.
Don't you has to be rich to wear that stuff?
Thank you for sharing. I have both Doc Martens, Gripfast, and Solovair. The pair I wear most of the time is the Solovair matte black greasy leather. These are in fact work boots. You might not agree with me but they are definitely work boots especially if you get the greasy leather which is more durable. The Gripfast are also work boots and you can get them with steel toe. I found the Gripfast to be uncomfortable. The greasy leather Solovair fit perfectly like a pair of gloves, and I can walk around in them all day and they are good on the feet. A lot of people will still wear tennis shoes, sneakers or running shoes on work sites where they are doing repaving and installing swimming pools. That kind of footwear gives you little protection compared to a standard pair of 1460 Doc Martens even without the steal toe. I don't know why people wear sneakers to work sites like that, but I would be there with my Docs and I'm always scratching my head why they don't get a pair of Docs as well to protect their feet on that kind of work site. If OSHA ever came around and they saw that they would be written up, but I would be fine working in my Doc Martens work boots. These Boots were made for Working
those jackets look like they've never seen the outside of a public accounting office
spank me daddy
Would you still suggest this bag or do you have other choices or currently looking at right now?
Yes. I would absolutely still suggest the Prima. I am still using it virtually every day. I have looked at other bags recently, and there are some awesome options out there, but I simply don't need another edc bag at the moment because my Prima fits the majority of my needs. Thanks for watching.
Subscribed. Not only because we have the exact same body type ;P
Thanks for watching and for the sub.
Thanks for comparison and info . Very helpful 👍
I got a pair yesterday and had to return them, my wall was to thick and I couldn't extend them enough to make them fit, they seem pretty good though. Really good product but my wall was the problem.
Too bad your wall was too thick. Still using mine regularly. Thanks for watching.
Awesome review and comparison, exactly what I needed
thanks for the review. I've been a converse wearer for years now but want something more comfortable as i'm doing a lot of walking these days for work. Im going to head into town tomorrow and buy some of these - love that colour but not sure i can pull it off ;) all the best!
Hi, does the filson jacket patina quicker?
Hi. I don't think either jacket develops patina faster than the other. Patina develops/happens based on your use of the jacket. It comes from the jacket molding to your body, developing creases where you move, and just being exposed to the elements. So the more often you use the jacket, the quicker the patina will develop. Thank you for watching.
@@Lonefyre1980 Thank you for the reply!
I own a lot of boots. Heritage boots. Dress boots. Work boots. Duty boots. Most of my boots are better leather quality, Goodyear welted, stitchdown construction, Vibram & Dainite soles, et cetera. Dr. Martens do one thing for me. The AirWair sole. It's one of the best feeling soles under my feet. We all have different feet. My feet enjoy the soft, bouncy step.
Great review, thanks for the comparison!
I got lucky and just recently bought a pair of those Dublin’s off the ReWair site and man they are great boots. The better leather makes Doc Marten’s infinitely better looking and feeling, and in my opinion they’re what Doc’s *should* be. A shame they don’t sell the Dublin’s anymore. Great video.
Thanks for watching. I actually wear my oxblood pair the most. They (as well as my Dublins and vintage black) are still going strong. I do like how supple the Dublins are and how they look similar to the old school "Greasy" type leather from my first pair my parents bought me in the 90's.
Have high arches and my spenco (big 5) otrthotic flip flops broke after only a year. Just got some black double layer rainbows a week ago. Feeling good...hope they last longer!
I've had my Rainbow double layers for over 3 years now. They get more and more comfortable as they mold to your feet. Foam has teeth marks (battle scars lol) from our dog. The leather footbed separated a little by the toes this year, easily fixed with a little Shoe Goo. Soles are still intact, but definitely gotten slick by the heels.
I’m diabetic and have lost feeling in my feet… I just started wearing docs again and know the soles are soft for my feet. And they protect my feet from bumps/damage.
It’s Sept 2024. I just bought the 1460 slip resistant for work. I needed SR soles so that narrowed my options. These are made in China and I wouldn’t have bought them for that reason but decided to take a chance. I am blown away by the quality after hearing some people criticize them. Hard to believe we are talking about the same thing because these boots are perfect and I’m completely satisfied with my purchase
Thanks for watching. Glad your SR 1460s are great quality. My MIE 1460s are still going strong so I have not needed to buy another pair yet. I wear my oxblood ones more often than the black ones.
Awesome review! Love that shade of blue on the better sweater 👍🏼
Looks like you have the old version of the Patagonia Down Sweater.
My 58 year old high mileage flat feet love the arch support that Chacos provide and have 3 pair. Great video!
thanks for making this. helpful for my friend and I looking to change up our midlayers.
How do you charge it?
It comes with a USB charger, but it's USB A not C.
Mine is not recharging 😢
It looks lke a fleece???
Is that a soft shell?
I'm assuming you're referring to the R2 techface (?) Yes. I would classify it as a softshell. The outside is abrasion resistant and stretchy with a DWR finish making it somewhat water resistant and wind resistant. The inside is a grid fleece. Thanks for watching.
@@Lonefyre1980 yes sorry the r2
Can the water pocket fit in your yeti water bottle
Hi. Yes. The outer water bottle pocket can hold my Yeti water bottle (36oz or smaller)
wow that's a lot of Patagonia Fleeces? which ones do you use the most though? I also feel there is some overlap with the Nano too
Hi. Thanks for watching. I probably use the R1 Air the most because I can use it as an outer layer if it's not too cold or as an insulating layer under the Down Sweater for below freezing temperatures.
@@Lonefyre1980 thanks for answering! im surprised as I thought you'd choose the R2 or Better Sweater. How is the pilling on the R1 over time?
@nimaiiikun piling is there, but not too terribly bad. It does start to look a bit raggedy if it goes longer between washes. Still performs beautifully though.
Why Is Dave Grohl Rey to sell sandals to me. I've got already 1 pair
Another thing some women might like is the R2 is slightly longer in the back & rounded hem. I find their sizing runs small though so you need to buy larger than the size chart recommends. Love their stuff.
Cheers 👍👍👍👍👍
Nice shoes! I like how your dog just sleeps in the background while you filmed your video.
That was good information man. I am thinking about getting a pair of Chaco sandals because I do a lot of kayaking 🛶 & i have to kayak 🛶 barefooted 👣 because I have big & very very Extremely wide feet 🦶 sz15 6E wide ( which is very very extremely wide feet 🦶 ) with very very chubby fat wide toes that are Evenly straight across making my foot very very Extremely wide at 6 1/2 inches wide from my big toe to my lil toe . My foot outgrow shoes , socks , & boots when I was young & Flip flops 🩴 is the only footwear that will barely and I mean barely fit me because my toes are wider than the flip flops 🩴 straps. I see a lot of people wearing the Chaco's sandals with the toe loop but i am wondering if my big toe would fit in them because my big toe is about 2" inches wide & the rest of my toes are 1" inches wide . I have some very chubby fat wide toes . Good video buddy thanks you for sharing this video.
@mackjenkins7721 Thanks for watching. Glad it was helpful. I didn't even know widths went to 6E. Some of the Chaco styles come in wide widths. I know the custom sandals come in wide because my customs are all wide width. As for the toe loop, with the customs, you can have them lengthen or reduce the length of straps used to your specific needs. I suggest calling them to ask. Pick the option for ReChaco or Custom Chacos when you call their customer service. They are really helpful. I talked to them several times with my first custom sandal. Good luck!
New subscriber 👍🏻I just received the Crossgrips and I enjoyed your point of view… Keep on keeping on ✊
@@JohnAdams-rm7zm I still use mine regularly and bring them with me on most vacations. Hope you enjoy the Crossgrips. Thanks for watching.
I am so confused with Patagonia sizing. I am 195cm and 110kg and i can wear anything from L to XXL. Now I want to purchase online R1 Air fleece hoodie but can’t decide on the size. XL should do but I am afraid it would be to short on my arms
@ratkoperic If you are concerned about sleeve length, you may want to size up. The R1 Air is intended to be a slightly more fitted top. Check the chest measurement and arm measurements on their size chart too. You can also contact Patagonia and they can provide the measurements of the actual clothing in the specific sizes you are interested in. I have found that helpful. Or you could buy two sizes and return the one that doesn't fit as well. Good luck. Thanks for watching.
This is perfect ur the same height as me so this helps with sizing
That does it! I’m pulling out my old but good condition 90’s MIE babies. Gonna oil them up and putting them back on. My other pair are discontinued Triumph 1460 with Tartan inners and belt strap!
@ghenderson2022 NICE! My very first pair were from 1994. MIE. Black Greasy Leather. Thanks for watching.
I'm glad I bought the gts 20, The drip collection looks very good to me. They are my best walking shoes ever.
Hows the R1 TechFace compared to the R2 TechFace? They sadly dont sell the R2 TechFace in my country but they do sell the R1 Techface.
R1 techface is a little thinner (so not quite as warm as R2) and does not have the chest pocket like the R2 techface. Thanks for watching!
Hey there, it’s Scotty from San Diego. I love your video on the Kayano. I am an athletic 65 year old, 5’5” and 155 lbs. who just found out I over pronate when I walk. I went to Roadrunner store and they recommended Asics Kayano 30 and Glycerin gts 21. I liked them both, but Asics was on sale so I bought it, knowing I had 90 days to return. After about 2 weeks, I decided the shoe was just too much shoe for me. Maybe better for a larger person, but way too chunky and clunky for me, especially with that large heel flair. Although hesitant, you finally said it yourself. Yes, I love the cushioning, but too much of anything is too much for me. I replaced them with the gt2000 12, and couldn’t be happier. It’s still plush and cushy, but it’s smaller and lighter than the Kayano 30. They still have a wide base with the same Pure Gel and FF Blast + midsole, but it’s about a 35mm stack with 8 mm drop, and only weighs 9.7 ounces. The medial pressure/ support is more noticeable to me in the gts 2000 12. Not in a bad way, but if you don’t over pronate, you may not like it. I like them so much I bought a second pair on sale for $63. I also rotate in my New Balance 860 v13 I bought for about $100. I had to go a half size bigger but they are also incredibly comfy and cushy using their Fresh Foam X in the midsole. I feel little to no medial pressure/ support in the NB 860, although you can feel the outside stiffer foam on the higher medial stack. I’m not sure what the hell I would do with a 4th pair of walking shoes, but I still have my eye out on the Brooks gts 20 version at $100. It really is a great shoe, and I know you gave it an excellent review. Maybe I’ll just be patient and wait for the 21 version to go on sale next year. Happy trails, and stay healthy!
Thanks for watching! I appreciate your input. I'll hopefully get around to doing a follow up video on the Kayano 30s. Cushioning is still going strong, but over the miles, they just feel more.... sluggish(?) The GT 2000s are an excellent choice. I may be going back to Brooks for my next pair of running shoes.
Where are your boots from? I heard that the Chinese made ones are worse than the Vietnamese made ones, and the best quality is the English version, is that true?
All of my Docs are MIE (Made in England) I had two Chinese made pairs several years ago. One developed cracks in the leather in less than a year. The other had an uneven welt on one boot which made it look crooked, but it was still usable. Thanks for watching!
Callie is a beautiful girl.
Nice review! I would like to get the Filson but I don't know if I have to buy an XS or S.. I'm 173cm and 68Kg (around 100cm chest circumference) what do you suggest me? In Levi's trucker i wear an S. Thank tou!
Hi. Thanks for watching! You could honestly probably go either way. Depends on how much layering you want under the jacket. I would recommend a size Small based on your measurements just so you have a little more room in case you want to wear more than just a T-shirt under the jacket. You could always buy both an XS and an S and return the one you like less. Hope this is helpful.
@@Lonefyre1980 Thank you so much!

Nice vid. If you had to pick 1 pair only...These Asics, or the Glycerine GTS's??
Having run in the Kayano 30's now for several months, I actually prefer the Glycerine GTS's. Hopefully I'll get around to making an update video. When my Kayano 30's wear out I will probably either get Glycerine GTS's again or I may go back to Asics GT-2000's. Thanks for watching.
I have the 21 but also bought 20 afterwards coz of discounted price. I like shape of 20 better although 21 is lighter and has more cushioning overall. Wear my 20 for walking and as a gym shoes.
Hi, thank you for the video! I’m going to buy Dr Martens boot for the first time. However, I am not able to decide if I should go for women 1460 MiE Vintage burgundy or women 1460 MiE Horween. I would really appreciate your advice! ❤
Hi. Thanks for watching. You can't really go wrong with any of the MIE Docs. The vintage leather is stiffer and corrected grain giving it a smooth appearance and there is a bit more of a break in period, but it is durable for everyday wear. A decent wax keeps them looking good. Buff them for more shine if you like. Horween leather is excellent and has been around for a long time.. There are different types of leather from Horween. One of my MIE Docs is the Horween Dublin. It was very supple and soft from the start. Horween chromexcel is widely used and is also very supple from the start, though it tends to show scuffs and scratches pretty easily. Nothing a good conditioner/balm can't take care of though. Hope this is helpful.
@@Lonefyre1980 Thank you so much! I was not expecting such a quick response but I have your perfect advice that I wanted! ❤️❤️❤️
I appreciate the review you did, and especially the way you approached the fitting aspects. Keep it up!
Thanks for watching!
nice review! its crazy that they made the breast pocket so small.
Great vid
Thanks for watching!
Get a down jacket with a hood and these jackets are very good but Eddie Bauer makes great jackets and with some shopping around you can get 35 to 50% off the retail price. Good video 😊
Yes! I like Eddie Bauer products as well. Their First Ascent products are solid! I actually own a few pairs of their Guide Pro shorts and pants. Great flannels too. Thank you for watching.
Bauer is garbage quality compared to Patagonia and their products aren’t covered the same. I’ve personally had bad experiences with them
@@ryank2434 I have a huge collection of jackets and the older Eddie Bauer were made better because they got bought out by some company and they outsourced everything now but if you compare warmth and price EB goes head to head with ever other company in the world and they actually hold the Patton for down jackets .
