"Not enough research" isn't that always the way with women's health. 10:00 histamine intolerance can be tested with DOA in the body, If it's below 30 it's bad. They will tell you it's normal though if over 10. I've heard a doctor say this on another podcast.

I just got into HRT ( estrogen, progesterone and testosterone) gained weight before that and as they adjusted the doses I also was bloated , got a heavy feeling out or retaining water, my face and eyes looked rough and some edema. I could NOT RECOGNIZE my body. I adore many cool DRS who are posting very informative and challenging info out there out of their own experience with the medical system and their own menopause, however not many speak about Hrt and the genetic possibility of NEEDING ESTROGEN ( hot flashes, dry vagina, night sweats, etc many more stuff) BUT NOT braking it or processing it well. Now , I added broccoli sprouts ( because it will not lower my testosterone) and I feel super!!!!!

I’m at a loss of what to do, I had no problem on the combined birth control pill but since moving to hrt (transdermal estrogen and oral utragestran) the flushing and burning itchy skin started, it’s definitely histamine related …

I had flooding for 3 weeks after my 3rd covid jab in Jan 2022 aged 44. I ended up needing emergency treatment in hospital which consisted of tranexamic acid intravenously and norethisterone tablets 3x a day for 2 weeks. Each year since I have had another flooding episode around the same time of year, really odd. Just happened again. My ferritin hangs around 6-9, Hb varies between 10 and 12 but that is taking prescription strength iron constantly. It’s debilitating and exhausting. Now trying tranexamic acid tablets to lessen blood flow during periods. Perimenopause symptoms kicked in after the first bout of heavy bleeding. But the worst symptom by far is the flooding, it’s terrifying. I am normal bmi and healthy otherwise.

So informative. I've been wading through menopause without hrt since 2019 when I had blood clots on tablet hrt. Nothing was offered as an alternative when I enquired and it has been rough. I've been in to my GP this last week and had these conversations and found potential options for me and have started trying a gel and vaginal hrt. I wish I'd revisited this earlier and not just endured it.

I watched your programme with interest I have been having exacerbated migraines during periods and now menopause .... I have been under private meno help and been given HRT for past two years my migraines initially were reduced in severity and frequency but now a year since tests my oestrogen has gone to half ,,,, I realise levels can change and absorption however I have had to up the pain relief codeine and I also have been on 10mgs amitrytiline I am so frustrated by the impact of the migraines as now they have returned to about 4 a month I get severe adverse reactions to any bites stings etc and infact when bitten by some ants in summer my reaction meant three to four weeks on three anti histamines a day till the hives reduced I am wondering whether there is any connection ? I see newson health again at end November as my HRT is now a different progesterone to be in relation to changing from patch with two pumps to 4 pumps and utogeston I am going to try an antihistamine which at times I do take anyways to reduce rhinitis sneezing and coughing at night any other advice you can offer I realise it's unlikely its connected but I would be so pleased if I'd found an answer as my life had been debilitated by the migraines I do eat dark choc every day spinach tomatoes etc was totally unaware they were high in histamine,,,, thanks Sam annison

Horrific, so many women suffer with this needlessly - the combined oral contraceptive pill taken every day can completely eradicate, or worst case massively reduce, heavy bleeding and flooding in the perimenopause yet too many women are incorrectly told it is "dangerous". More dangerous than life threatening bleeding and hysterectomies?! I have to pay for it privately but it's worth every penny. A minority of people with certain conditions can't take it but for the majority it's an overlooked option.

I just recently figured out that I might be histamine intolerant after I developed hives all over my cheeks and eyelids hours after I ate Gouda cheese. I've had many reactions previously to various foods and dust for the past 6 months, after I skipped my period for more than 6 months. It was then I started associating my newfound allergies to perimenopause. I started low histamine diet last week and today the last red patch on my face is gone. So glad I found yr video. I'm a health professional but sadly there's still so much for me to learn.

Thank you so much for sharing your experience. It would be great to know how you approached a low histamine diet.? Did you take any supplements? Wishing you continued improvement in your symptoms.

@@amanthakingcoaching1026DAO supplements are not available in my country, so I only rely on strict low histamine food and increasing fruits & vegetable intake. I am slowly introducing probiotic food back into my diet with the hope of improving my gut microbiome. Wish me luck..☺️

Thank you for this episode! I look forward to learning if there are any support for women who are experiencing menopause and working. It’s been stressful.
