Thanks for making me realise that I don’t need this extra stress when I’m setting up 😂
good video but failed any info, on the important part if oil or spray needed ?? on just the food ?? or plates ?? or non required ?? also no mention on how easy or not to clean the griddle ?? Lastly the gas ?? does it run on Propane or Butane ???
Hi thank you for your comment. Either gas regulated between 28 and 37 mBar. The griddle requires oil or fat depending on your preference. The latest versions of the cadac are better for non-stick and easier to clean.
Running the wash part underfilled with water will burn out the motor eventually.
I also noticed that it needed another container of water for the amt of clothes she was washing.
@@HJKelley47 You need to make sure the washing part is always full; unless all you are doing is pants and socks. Don't underfill the drier with clothes either. The easiest way to rinse, is to use a garden hose and a water showerer in the spinner and rinse repeat, until all of the water runs clear. You can also condition in the spinner in the same way; put the conditioner in the centre of the spinner, and the spinner will spin it through all of the clothes with the rinse water. The hoses and tap adaptors and showerer costs about £20, and makes the machine far easier, faster and much more efficient to use. If you do it this way, the machine can be used like a conveyer belt, and while one side is washing you can rinse, condition and spin dry with the other. I have cleared over 30KG of washing with it (backlog due to automatic washing machine breakdown) in about 2 and a half hours. Only put one large towel/double duvet cover/pair of jeans in the washer section at a time, as their weight when wet could damage the washer motor (if put in with other clothes, or more than one of). Don't run the spin drier, underfilled with clothes, as that could damage the spinner. Non bio liquid detergents clean deeper and rinse off far easier than handwash soap suds or washing powder.
My 2010 Lunar Clubman SI came with the shocks already fitted. However, early this year, I decided to have a look at them and found they were very rusty; I presumed that after 14 years of fairly regular use, they m8ght be past it, so I ordered a new set of Alko shocks (red cover). I fitted them in the drive without removing the wheel, just jacked the van up a bit and put an axle stand under the axle and steadies down. It was very easy, took about 30 minutes a side to change, including jacking removing bolts and torquing new shock mountings. Well worth doing. I, too, felt a slight improvement over the old shocks.
Brilliant, the problem I hade was limited space on muddy ground. They have made such a massive difference to my towing as my Qashqai is at it's max tow weight. Adding spring savers to the car has also prevented bottoming out. Its great that your shocks are making a difference.
I now no the reason why I haven’t bought one of these sorts of wind breaks. What a faff to put up. 😮
That was my first attempt. It is a two person job and only takes 10 minutes.
Love it! Great review. Beach looks gorgeous 🤩
Thank you for the heads up 😀
A year late, but we just bought this based on your review and others of course, just wanted to thank you for putting this up. Now I am having to chase around for the side panels as they are out of stock at Dometic, can confirm the gauge does not work, will be using my double pump that I already have, pumps on the up and downward stroke and can suck the air out too. Did you do a video on repacking it and getting the air out and fitting in the bag with the pump as it came? 🤣 Oh and thks for the twisted strap tip, 25+ years of awning swearing and hadn't twigged that one.
It's a bugger to get back in the bag since Dometic stopped providing over sized bags. You don't need a gauge, just touch stiff and leave room for air expansion in the summer. I'll do a folding video when I take it off a Brighton in four weeks. Ours held up brilliantly in france in rain, wind, and 35C. 10 minutes to get up now and 20 to put away.
@@cueballinacaravan Look forward to it, leave the swearing in 😆 glad to hear its a good buy though. Will be in Glastonbury around that time.
Looks like a Benny Hill vid . What a faff. Thanks anyway...
Ha ha thanks. Yes it's really a two person job. It took two of us 15 minutes.

Buying one as I type.
Don't forget the sides so you can utilise the poles 😀
You know why your Storm straps are humming...they don't know the words!!!.😱🤣🤣
😂😂🤣🤣🤣😅
Awesome video, did you cook your hash browns from frozen? Or can you store them in a fridge for a couple of days?
Hi there. They were frozen and don't take long to warm through.
Looks great, one to add to our list 😊
We had TWO Kampa 330 explode on us after just a couple season summer only infrequent use - around 10 weeks over the year. Inner bag exploded ripping both the bag shroud and splitting the awning canvas beyond repair. Got no sense from Kampa when I explained 9 psi is too high with higher ambient temperature. (Boyles Law (?) pressure will rise in proportion to ambient temperature where volume remains constant.) Kampa tech didn't appear to understand this and were unable to advise on pressure testing and rating. I now never exceed 7 psi unless it is extremely cold ambient temperature. Only advice from Kampa was to fit their sunshade over the inflated awning to protect it from the sun!
Yes, under inflation is really important when it's hot. 👍
After three years debating we finally booked and stayed at Run Cottage in 2023. The good points are its level in two separate paddock areas and a shop nearby and It’s adult only which is good. Now the not so good points now. We had a hard standing serviced pitch in the furthest section and the hard surface was one of the worst I’ve encountered as it was similar to course crushed tarmac with so much black dust our caravan floor got filthy. We were disappointed with the main facilities block, we rate at 3 stars as they are very dated. A second facility block is in the furthest section and is very good and modern but doesn’t have showers in it, only basins and wc. TV reception is non existent however the owners will rent you SAT box for £2.50 a night which I reluctantly paid for. Why can’t they install TV booster like CAMC and other sites often do. Wi-Fi available and you have to pay a third party company. I refuse to pay for this as it’s too damned expensive. Again many sites these days offer free Wi-Fi as part of the package. In summary Run Cottage is ok but not great. Would I return, No not any time soon.
We’ve been using one since 2019 and it’s my favourite every time. I prefer it over a full awning because it’s a lot less fuss to put up & take down.
Nice, looks a very useful machine, thanks for the demonstration
Looks a nice awning
Hi Andy. It has worked well. I've still had a few narrow roads but safe. I wouldn't tow new areas without it.
It is definitely worth £30 ans such a lovely place to stay
Love this!♥️
Paul Daniel's
Hi Ben yes but the latest version has flip up sides to help. I'm going upgrade soon and do a video.
Do you ever have problems in the wind ?
Really useful review. Thankyou
Good reveiw, thanks
This is the 2nd fully serviced lovely CL I’ve seen shared in 24 hours, I think we’ll have to explore more of them next year. £30 isn’t too bad these days.
Hi Sandra. It does make a nice change to have the services plugged in. No faffing around emptying the waste master and filling the aqua roll 😁
Can I ask how you are getting on with the max? I’ve just had a few scary moments down narrow lanes and realised I really need to get a new Nav system. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Cheers
Hi Andy, it was perfect in France but we have been down some narrow roads in the UK. Absolutely no height issues at all. I think that if the road is wide enough in one direction, it will use it if there isn't an alternative.
@@cueballinacaravan Cheers friend.
Hi I'm new to this just got a caravan. If you're caravan was in the same position as the car ,what would have been the impact on the canopy. Great video cheers
Hi there. The car isn't blocking the wind so no difference. In my update video I'm mention the the poles for the side panels make the difference in high winds as they support the front corners of the canopy. I would highly recommend getting the poles even if you don't want to use side panels.
@@cueballinacaravan fantastic thank you keep up yhe good work.
We’ve been looking for bedding for our island bed. Thanks for mentioning about Better sleep company.
It makes such a big difference and the material is really good quality. You can't go wrong 👍
I use one of these and you’re right, definitely a two man job. I use a 57 mm bolster chisel I create a channel in the ground to allow the upright spikes to fit in without having to hit the fittings. The length of the channel gives lateral movement to adjust the uprights. Makes life easier if the grounds hard.
Thank you....what a brilliant idea. I will add a similar chisel to my peg box.
Good job
Definitely a 2 person job, but really looks nice
Thanks Mike.
I’ve been contemplating as to whether or not to purchase the same canopy as you have, it is the cost that was putting me off. Having seen your original video and this one I will be getting one. Cheers, Mike
We have the same canopy and we are also looking for a carpet that fits.Have you had any luck finding one? Cheers.
Hi there. We bought a Dometic Continental cushioned carpet. 400 X 250. It'll be in the next video later this week. Thank you for asking.
@@cueballinacaravan Looking forward to that. Cheers
Just put ours up for some reason the pump wasn’t registering any pressure any idea 🤔
Hi Mark. It's normal with the Dometic pumps. My pump is the same now. I have found that as soon as you get resistance, you're good to go and this prevents pumping in too much air, which is important when it's sunny weather.
@@cueballinacaravan yeah just didn’t want to burst it lol well pleased with it just waiting for sides to come back into stock 👍
I now use the poles that come with the sides even when I don't put the sides on. It helps with stability
Finally brought one today just got to get side excellent video 😊
It's really easy yo set up. You need an extra pair of hands in windy conditions to get it pegged down. Once up it stays put 😁
Can you purchase in new zealand
it's rubbish it dident last 10 minits in high wind
good video just got this canopy on Monday of this week and ordered the side walls last night as you say you can have it as awning or sun canopy just what we wanted.cheers
Hi Bazza, you won't regret it mate. It's all I use now.
have you used it this year much?
Hi there, yes every trip and again the coming weekend. 15 minutes to put up. It's so easy and looks great.
Great review, thanks.
Hi, great video. For short trips March to October is it worth paying for the all season version in your opinion ?
Hi Aidan, I honestly believe that the standard canopy is good enough as long as you can get the side panels. Having the sides give you the protection needed in the wind. Spring and Autumn can be windy so you need the extra support. If you go abroad, you need the all season as the UVA affect the fabric. 😁
hi what presser do you put in your tubes please
Hi. I used 7 psi. I'm always nervous about more.
The instructions reco.end 9psi
Hi what can you get to cover the black strap that gives you the right width across the beam so you don't trip over it
Hi John. A carpet would cover it but that depends on the weather and time of year because of wet ground.
Flat headed groundsheet pegs at intervals will keep it flat
AT last, someone who got the same as I have they are very good will be trying mine out for 3 weeks in June
Hi John it's really easy to setup and is a fantastic compromise.
Such a good video - the storm is epic. we have been toying with awning for a while but still joy overly convinced - This gives me a great alternative particularly as we are heading to Europe next year for a few weeks. Much more affordable option.
Thank you. I'm glad that you have found it useful 😊
Brilliant wee video. Thanks for your work.
Thank you 😊
