@@merfmoto6378 my Dad was on that blue R6 that was in a lot of this video, I was on a grey 2007 triumph Daytona 675 that had blue tape on the lights then switched to gold. I’m tall with a white/red suit, white/black helmet.

Yup! Still have the videos to prove it. I tried to zoom in on the thumbs up, did you see it? Ha ha! Now if I could only brake as deep as him. I doubt I will ever be able to catch you except on the straight. Either way it’s gonna be fun!

@@merfmoto6378 for sure I saw it, hah. One of my favorite moments was getting a thumbs up from a CR when I was hustling around on my little interceptor at Blackhawk, so I understand the confidence boost! That whole back "straight" is nerveracking as hell if you're on it. Brake when you're ready. No trophies getting handed out on track days.

Or worse like getting run over by a golf cart or attacked by geese! I’ll stick with this, much safer. :) The Insta360 camera is pretty cool! The audio turned out good, too.

Hi Parker! Thanks. I am getting a little better each time out. How have you been? Did you ever figure out that low side? I nearly tucked the front in the carousel at BFR and Chris said it was a combination of factors. :)

Ha ha, you’re funny. Despite the weather we all had a great time. I really enjoyed the track, except all the corners look slippery! This track is a real equalizer. The liter bikes don’t have as big an advantage.

Thanks Matt! I need to hang off more was being a bit lazy trying to save my legs for Day 2. It’s nice to have clear track to get in a rhythm. I kept it tight in 1 and it was smoooooth :) Looking forward to BHF!

I agree with your assessment. We had a really nice setup. I think the weather helped settle things down on track so we could just be smooth and work on technique without over driving. I really felt confident in my tires. Aside from being a little wet and cold, I was pretty comfortable and relaxed. A good place to start the season. The 9 has good stabilization and cancels a lot of wind noise well. Gotta get that sweet exhaust note, right? Have to thank my biggest fan for getting me that. I had seen vids like that and wanted to know how bad I look. Next I want to try clamping one to the frame slider.

@@JPRATT537 Thanks for the tip! I typically make a straight line between the curves, tip left and get ready to brake for 12. I should have reduced my speed to try a new line. I can’t help but laugh at myself.

I’ve been passed on the right down there so since there was no one around I thought I might see if I could. I got a lot of negative feedback from the bike. Ha ha.

@@matttriestodothingsthought I had enough input to make the left but when I felt it push it was too little too late. The first time I ever went down there at speed I was pretty scared. I think that’s the most treacherous part of the track. I guess I just needed to be reminded of that. Above all, RA demands our respect.

I didn’t imagine that I could hit those speeds. I am really impressed with this bike. My biggest fan got me that keychain so I wanted to make sure it was in the vid.

I didn’t expect it to take off. So I did what anyone would do when they have a turkey flying at their head - I ducked!

@@merfmoto6378 Well, the one in this video certainly isn't green... So I cannot say with any confidence what color your bike is at this precise moment in time, hah. Is this the same bike? It sounds like a Japanese I-4. That's all I'm certain of. I don't know much about these fancy newfangled fuel-injected motorcycles that seem to be all the rage these days! It's funny--I stopped by my parent's house earlier today and watched the end of the XFinity race. I'm a big AJ Allmendinger fan. Anyway, my aunt was asking why it was noteworthy when the announcer mentioned that the camera man was able to find a Kyle Busch "Fan", not "Fans" after he won. She's like, "Do people not like him or something?". "Nope. No, people do not like Kyle Busch." - my dad. haha

@@matttriestodothings Why yes, Matthew, it is a new bike! Did you cheer when Kyle spun? I did. Was AJ out of tires? I don’t know why he didn’t pit. That cost him the race.

@@merfmoto6378 I missed most of the race, but texted my buddy that was there--he thought he was out of tires. I saw he won the first two stages and in typical AJ-luck, he got a pit road penalty. Blah! I'll have to rewatch it. Isn't it crazy watching that track now that you've ridden it? The elevation changes do NOT translate to TV well at all. It's so much more interesting to watch! The pre-race for the race had a very old lap with Roger Penske in the car narrating a lap from like 50 years ago. I really hope my DVR caught it because I'd love to watch it again. The track is obviously the same, but all of the surrounding area is so different. There are no guard rails or anything between the kink and Canada Corner! it's like literally driving through the woods. And the bridge prior to the carousel literally doesn't exist. And yea, I may have just been rewatching your track day video to figure out if you've got a different bike or not, haha. Congrats on the new bike!! Hopefully it's treating you well!

@@matttriestodothings There have been so many upgrades to the track just in the last 20 years. The tunnel to the paddock for instance. That is cool. The cars today just looked slow through the corners to me. Some even went through 1 and 3 two by two. To me that wouldn’t happen at real race speed. The new bike is a Zx6r. Yup the cheater 636. No ABS. Figured if I was serious I should use the right tool for the job. Got an M4 muffler, but as it does virtually no muffling that is an oxymoron. I will call it a growler. The biggest performance gain from it is actually the weight reduction. I felt this would be better suited to RA as well as Blackhawk Farms. Hey, I also got a safety wire pliers!

Oh yeah, “America’s National Park of Speed”. I’m just a newbie and left a lot out there.
