I recreate Movie themes using just a Piano. To achieve that I experiment with extended piano techniques, like prepared piano, bowing the piano strings with fishing line, using EBows, etc.

18 HANDS play ARRIVAL (DUNE 2) on 1 PIANO
Another Piece from Hans Zimmer's Soundtrack to Dune: Part Two. This one was very fun, figuring out all the nasty, deep rumbling sounds. I was able to reuse the technique of rubbing rosined wood on the bass strings to replicate the sound of the Octobass used in the original. That turned out great in my opinion, especially the lowest note played (which is the second lowest note on the piano, a B♭0) produces a wonderfully nasty, gurgling sound. It is also quite impressive to see how much the bass strings vibrate when played like that.

Thanks! It‘s fishing line rolled up in many loops, like the many strands of horse hair in a traditional bow. And rosined of course! :)
