Kirk Johnson Pivot Bushings
มุมมอง 5665 ปีที่แล้ว
Illinois BMW Riders video expert Kirk Johnson endorses the Emerald Island product which replaces the OEM needle roller bearings on the Final Drive Pvot Pins. The bushings are more durable than the OEM bearings and care must be taken when disassembling the Final Drive to HEAT UP the pins before attempting to remove them. I have amended Kirk's excellent video to include this warning.
BMW R1150 Clutch - Robin the Rivetter
มุมมอง 4.8K6 ปีที่แล้ว
BMW R1150 motorcycles have a single-plate dry clutch with a frictionplate whose central hub is too short to cover all the length of the Gearbox Input Splines, leading to problematic operation and possible excess wear. Motor Engineer Esmir in Florida devised a metal spacer of 6mm length which solves the problem. The original hub needs de-rivetting to permit installation of the spacer. Here's the...
BMW R11250R ockster Clutch Slave Access
มุมมอง 2.7K6 ปีที่แล้ว
The hydraulic clutch in an R1150 bike post 2002 is operated by a Slave Cylinder which fails and must be renewed, often along with the gearbox seal at the bottom of the cavity that it sits in. Make access for the job easier by removing the rear-frame's cross-bar.

Rockster Slave Cyl Film
มุมมอง 1.4K6 ปีที่แล้ว
BMW R1100 and 1150 hydraulic-clutch bikes have a crucial but under-specified component that operates the clutch. It's a Slave Cylinder and it's CRAP. When it dies or otherwise seizes up, it lets contaminated DOT4 fluid down the push-rod and onto the friction plate - expensive trouble. Here's how to access it WITHOUT ripping the bike in half. Note liberal use of Copaslip inserted into all screw ...

Slowspeed Motorcycle Control

Here's a guy on a Honda NC six-speed auto-transmission motorcycle showing how to use only the rear brake to control the bike turning on full lock at slow speed without losing control or even worse falling off. Watch him place his clutch-hand on top of his helmet. Remember he's on an auto-transmission bike with no clutch lever and no gear-pedal. But his comment at the end of this short and instr...

Anyone know what the other 2 plugs are for in the sub harness? I have heated grips and spot lights on mine that have been bodged in by some chancer. So thats got to be redone properly. Thanks for the video it was helpful.

Mr. Sykes, it's a bit hard to see because of the graininess but otherwise, this is one fantastic tutorial on how to remove the dreaded plastic. I'm installing Rox risers and have to move the brake line behind the triple clamp. It's either remove bodywork or partially remove the right fork. Decisions... If you haven't already done so, it would be great to see you do an air cleaner service. Not looking forward tot hat either 🙁 EDIT: I looked through your videos and I see you did the air filter on an NC700S. Is it much different on the X?

Nice video, would you have the p/n or specs for the material used? I'm specially looking for: - DCT small oil filter - Oil drain plug - Oil drain washer What I already know (sharing in case anyone doesn't know yet) - Oil type: 10W-30 (3.4 liters after changing both oil filters) - Oil filter: 15410-MFJ-D01 (used on many Hondas) or generic Hiflofiltro HF204RC Thanks!

    • @maxuzb
      @maxuzb ปีที่แล้ว

Actually...the factory says that we shouldn't change bot filters each time you change oil. But I do anyways. Oil drain washer = a bolt with a ring and magnet on it. Oil filters...for DCT it's HF117 and HF204RC for engine block

you skimpt on grease on the swing arm, the wheel bearings are crap, the screen is a pile of dog, its an expensive bike for the quality of it, Honda compromised quality for profit knowing full well the bike riders who are coming through today don't have a clue what their looking at.
