Just a girl with a level of creativity that far surpasses her actual ✨ talent ✨
I challenged myself to make a dress from a T-shirt in an hour...
When I was gifted the T Shirt I knew I could make it into a cute little dress.
I then wondered if I could make it in an hour...

What's a girl to do when she loves the dresses in Bridgerton but pastels just aren't her thing? Make her own moody version complete with Halloween leftovers and a surprising amount of mirrors of course!

Could You Last Your Whole Vacation Only Packing DIY Items?

As someone who has the paranoid fear that everyone else can spot sewing mistakes a mile off, wearing my makes in public has always been really daunting. What better remedy than to leave all of my ready to wear clothes over a thousand miles away while I go on Holiday with a suitcase filled only with clothes I'd made myself? Will I ever go on holiday or wear handmade clothes again? Some helpful l...

Recreating a childhood outfit to prove I DIDN'T peak in the 90s!
มุมมอง 8511 หลายเดือนก่อน
If you could recreate one outfit from your childhood what would it be? As a proud cute kid turned weird teen turned sort of...passable (?) adult its always bittersweet seeing childhood photos. What went wrong and how can I try and claw some of it back? Join me in making a recreation of an outfit that has *haunted* me for decades. Did I do it justice or are some things better left in the past? L...

DIY Barbie Outfit BUT she never got over her awkward 🖤alternative🖤 phase

Were you the kid that always gave their Barbies black make up in felt tip? Never really left your teenage goth/emo/alt days behind? Just really excited to see Barbie but don't like pink? This might be the video for you! Put the kettle on, grab a judgemental cat and a few yards of fabric and join me in making a costume fit for the Barbie that swears it isn't just a phase! Thanks for watching!
It’s beautiful!!!! Honestly I’d throw on a baggy black cardigan, trainers and wear it to tescos 😂
Half of my students work at the only supermarket near me and they think I'm weird enough as it is😅
FAFO! This is how innovation happens. (in regards to not knowing what you are doing while sewing)
Lol there's a point in EVERY project where i question every moment in my life that led me to believe i knew how to sew. I also take exponentially longer on the last "5 mins" of every project. I'm accepting that is part of the journey. I love when that part makes it to the videos, its the most relatable part.
I've some projects that the last 5 minutes have been taking me years to do 😁
You are CORDIALLY INVITED to a fancy ass TEA PARTY. I’ll get the fine china. You have to bring the cucumber sandwiches
Your china is the finest! I'll make sure the cucumber lives up to it ❤️
So glad to have stumbled upon you, you look so cute in the regency inspired look!
Thank you! I'm glad you stumbled across me too ☺️
You look amazing! The dress turned out soo adorable❤ i love that you used leftover trim as a necklace and hair piece
Thank you! I think the trim made it to be honest. MVP of the outfit.
Looks like a great reason to have a gothic tea party! Perhaps some lovely black currant scones with it?
There's a shout. Maybe little black forest cakes too!
Your vibe is so relatable! I also yell at my machine until my husband comes in to check on me 😂 I thought you pulled the look together so well, the hair and make up was stunning. I’m having a Jane Austen themed high tea for my birthday and you’ve given me some ideas for making the outfit feel more wearable (I feel very silly in regency wear) but I love your kind of goth take on it ❤
Thank you for the compliments. I usually never shout at the machine (as it's usually my fault not theirs) but I do shut my cats out of the room when I start to get annoyed with a project so if the door is closed my husband knows things aren't going well 😬
I absolutely LOVED this! You're a breath of fresh air... and your style is utter perfection. Sewing tantrums, breakdowns and so on were so worth it for that dress. You look fab!
Oh gosh! Think this is the nicest thing I've ever had said about me. I'll definitely look back at this comment when I feel the next sewing tantrum brewing 😊
@@TheUnevenStitch I’m so happy about that!
The waistband was going to be the death of me! I sewed it FIVE TIMES until I got in on right, last time I sewed it in the front fully opened backwards, turned it around and top stitched it so the back is on properly I swear I almost gave up 😂
Thank you so much for this easy to understand vid. I will be making a poodle skirt for a cosplay this year, and this vid has given me confidence that i can do it. This will be my first ever piece of clothing. I usually make plushies.
This will be a snap then! Plushies are so much harder IMO. What cosplay is it?
@@TheUnevenStitch Niffty from Hazbin Hotel.
Think of all the bugs that could fit in those pockets!
This video just came up on my feed. I madee a navy blue and black steampunk outfit like it. A bustier with navy velvet ribbon, a shrug, palazzo pants that look like a long skirt, an overskirt, and a top hat. From Texas USA.🇺🇲
That sounds fantastic!
Thanks it's for sale in my booth at a boutique mall. The top hat was the most fun to make. I did machine stitch the ribbon with the boning in place. It works with wide ribbon...in case you make another. It's fun how similar the bustiers turned out.
2007 was 17 years ago??? 🫣
I am so so excited to start this as my next project! I love that you lay everything out on the floor same as me, beautiful work!!!
It is my dream to one day own a table suitable for cutting! Dare to dream right! So glad the video inspired you 😊Hope the project goes well!
Super cute!❤
cool
Thank you. One, I am just beginning to get back to sewing and had cleaned my room, and had my sewing plans, but was still stuck. #3 hit me, I hate starting projects and not finishing...and I have unfinished projects taunting me. Also- I just changed two sizes in the past year- in my late thirties, you're embracing the reality of our bodies and sharing this whole process... brilliant and beautifully stated. Thank you. Mad impressed.
Thank you. I'm glad the video had helped. I felt really vulnerable posting so this comment has really lifted my spirits ☺️
This is one of the best tutorials I've seen on making a circle skirt. Thank you!
Thank you! That's a lovely thing to read. Glad you thought it was useful ☺️
Hi so I don’t know if you’ll see this but I’m working on a skirt for a bigger gal and the circumference of the skirt when all stitched up is much larger than the waist band, Do I just need to gather the skirt?
Does the waistband fit or is that too small? If too small make another waistband that will fit the skirt and the wearer. If it's just the skirt that's the issue I'd suggest two options: 1. If you don't mind adding volume at the waist then gathers or pleats would work. Darts might also be a shout if it wouldn't effect how the skirt fits over the tummy. 2. If you don't want more volume at the waistband- you could just move one of the side seams in until the waist is the right circumference. It would mean resetting the pocket but it's probably less work than spacing out pleats or gathers. Hope this helps!
@@TheUnevenStitch thank you
most underrated skirt video
What a compliment! Thank you!

Your guides help me a lot, you really do them well, i love you <3
Thank you so much 😊
Sei bellissima
Thanks for sharing. You could put a white hem facing on it and it would look like a son de fleur dress 😊❤
I'll be honest I had to Google what that was 😅 but yes that would look cute.
@@TheUnevenStitch ha it’s usually me who has to Google things but those dresses seem to be everywhere lately and all the costubers seem to have one. Out of my price range though so I will probs diy one using your video as a guide 😉
That's the main reason I learned how to sew in the first place. Let me know how yours goes!
Thank you!! Any tips for gathering? I struggle with gathering so that it matches the piece it's attached to and keeping all the gathers are even 😅
Quarter pinning helps in keeping things even when attaching pieces together. I try and do a few gathers on each side of the pin to keep it equal before moving on. Or I just can't be bothered and as long as they vaguely fit together I sew them knowing no one is really going to look too closely 😅
@TheUnevenStitch so, lower my standards. Got it 😂
Please post the dress video 🙏🏽 when I saw it on the short, I fell in love with it 😃
It's coming. It was on my old phone so I'm doing my best to polish it but the aim is that it's up by the end of the week. Also new username! That's exciting!
Good for you! Your outfits are all adorable!
You can take pride in your pretty clothes- it’s a great skill to have!
So cute 🤩
Thank you 😊
Yes yes yes. Would love to see the burnt orange dress video!!!
I'll see what I can do 😉
I accidentally did something similar last year on a 4-day trip to Louisiana, USA in the summer. 3 of the 4 days featured a handmade item because it's surprisingly hard to find flowy cotton clothes that look flattering on my shape. Also I wisely packed a wool medieval hood (my only warm clothing that takes almost no space in my luggage) in case the air conditioning was too cold and it saved me a lot of discomfort on that trip.
That's a lovely challenge. I also only pack things I make 😊
You're a lot more experienced than me then! Any advice?
@@TheUnevenStitch oh well I just always pack more options for my makes. Like a pair of pants that goes with all your diy tops and so on. Because I often find myself bringing my makes but they don't necessarily go well together. That's what I learned. 😅
@asurya8797 i only decided that's what I was going to do a few days before so I didn't have time to plan it that well. Half of the things I packed I panic sewed in a day or two 🫣
@@TheUnevenStitch I think you did a magnificent job for panic sewing. I especially like all your tops 🙂
The simplicity is lovely... but I require pockets for a bottom garment to be of any use to me. Perhaps patch pockets with a velcro closure so they could be worn as a bathing suit cover up, and my stuff would stay in the pockets when I took it off. Hmmm...
I had considered that too but ultimately I ran out of time to fully investigate. I'd be interested to hear if you try it out though!
I love your excitement!
I accidentally let my sewing nerd side show 😁
Your joy and enthusiasm is contagious, love it! Hope your holiday was fab and you got lots of opportunities to wear your fabulous wraparounds! Thank you!
That is such a lovely thing to read. Thank you. The holiday was fabulous. I actually only packed garments I made...it was an experience 😅
OMG. I will be making these for next summer! Wish I'd found this earlier. 🙂
Nooo! There is still time! You can do it!
凄い!可愛い!
Nice I really like it
Thank you!
You seem so happy and exited! Thank you for sharing these emotions!
I've been wanting to make these for years so I think that shone through a little 🫣
Watching you made this much more desirable than any of the patterns I've seen. Great work! Thanks! Hope you're enjoying your holiday! 🎉👍🏾
That's so sweet! Thank you ☺️ The holiday was fabulous.
This was great, especially since I'd like something similar myself (though for me I'd make an elasticated waistband instead of the ties, but that's personal preference and knowing that the ties would bother me). Out of curiosity, roughly how much of the fabric did you end up using? was it all 4 meters or nearly so?
Elastic would be a good shout but I've done that a lot in my last few makes and wanted something a little different. I used just under 2m in the end. I made a few matching tops and still have just under a metre left which I'm not sure what to do with yet.
@@TheUnevenStitch awesome, thanks! It helps to have a ballpark feel for maybe what I would need in terms of fabric to figure out a version of my own, so I appreciate it. The version with the ties looks great and I have friends who would love that aspect so really I'm also filing that away as maybe a gift for one of them after testing it out with the elasticated version for myself. Keep up the good work, I hope you had/have a lovely holiday!
Those are really neat.u did a great job.
Thank you! Most of the credit has to go the rolled hem foot. I think I'd still be sewing it now if I didn't have it!
So cute!
Thank you 😊
They're really cute, and look very comfortable
They're both! Thank you ❤️
WOW TRUE TALENT 💗💗
