    Thank you Pierre for your awesome content! One question for you, I am very new to med tech, like just started applying for jobs, when talking about leveraging your data for outreach strategies, can you propagate real-time data on a particular software? Like would you be able to know exactly which physician has what type of patients/cases in their pipeline?

    • @PierrePacini
      @PierrePacini หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks for the support and great question! I don’t believe there’s a database currently that would offer that. Most OR boards and cases are setup on an internal non-cloud based platform. So we wouldn’t have any of that data. Only data a rep would have would be historical. I hope that helps.

      Great question! I think I’ve talked about it a few times, so I don’t have an exact video in mind, but the most recent time was in a video called something like how sales ruined my mind. BUT the quick answer is I always planned on using it as a foundation to get into med device/pharma. I didn’t enjoy the burn and turn sales, 70% of income being commissions and the product.

    great stuff! off-topic question here. I was wondering what your thoughts are on note-taking/writing down what happened in your customer interactions. I have Veeva, but I know we're limited on what we can actually put in there for compliance reasons. Personally, I like to use Google Docs. Something cloud-based where I can update my last call anywhere on any device - phone, ipad, laptop. Would you mind sharing some of your learnings over the years on staying organized?

    • @PierrePacini
      @PierrePacini 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      What an awesome question! So I use a little moleskin journal that fits in my pocket. Unfortunately, it isn’t cloud based and can be lost at any moment, but that’s how I’ve stayed consistent with my notes. Every Sunday I try to take 30-60min to go through it again and make any updates k need to for the week/month. If google docs works for you, keep doing that and just put the minimal needed into Veeva. What’s great is if you leave your role and join another company in a similar space you still have all your information on those accounts.

      It’s wild out there. Some cases have between 20-60min of prep prior to your product getting used. If you’re a amazing rep you’ve got this timed down and show up a few minutes before you’re needed, when you’re new and learning you’re there during that whole phase and end up having a lot of down time. From your perspective why do people talk so negatively about Pharmaceutical sales? And in the same sense make it seem like medical device Sales is the best.

    • @PierrePacini
      @PierrePacini 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I’ll try to answer this as simply as possible: People perceive pharma to be lower status bc they believe it isn’t sales (in most roles you don’t have to get a PO) and they believe we are glorified caterers bc most of the time we can only get in front of providers by having a breakfast/lunch/snack with their office. Device is put on a pedestal bc “they” work in the OR. Their job is more stressful and they wear it like a badge of honor. In my humble opinion: device is great for singles and pharma is great for families/work:life balance

Fast forward 14 years later to today, and with the Medicare cuts to providers, I am worried it will get worse. Hi Pierre. your videos have been immensely informative and helpful. I am currently working in Nursing and make about $200k in CA. I currently have an offer from Stryker as an ASR but would take a huge pay cut... Would you recommend at all that I take this career? I was just wondering how much you can really make as a sales rep at stryker and to see if it was worth it or not

    • @PierrePacini
      @PierrePacini 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I would 100% pass that up if I was in your shoes. It’s not worth the pay cut to be an ASR. And probably not worth it to be a sales rep - most those roles struggle to hit $150k. If you’re looking to make a switch I’d highly consider an educational role. Depends what your nursing background is in. I’ve spoken with a few clinical educators that have about $120-160 salary and can bonus based on performance.

      Are you opposed to going the ClinEd route? What is your background in with nursing? What field is your friend in? It’s all perspective. Hey, I don’t have a link for it, but I got mine through Costco - it’s the Dynamic Infrared Series.

    I had two interviews with Stryker about a week ago and was told I would hear back regarding next steps within the same week and still haven’t heard anything! Sent a thank you & follow up email to both hiring manager & recruiter. Any thoughts on this? 🫠

    This is good stuff! Met with a rep at Stryker this morning to have these conversations, hoping to get an interview soon!

    RAV4 is the ultimate Rep car! I took my 2014 RAV4 to 350,000 miles. The only thing I didn’t like about the vehicle is really rough specially, on highway very noisy. As reps we spent so much time in the car you got a strike a balance between fuel efficiency, comfort, and that’s why I landed on the CX 50

      No fk’n way!! 350k. That was definitely a personal vehicle and not a company lease haha. They burn them every 60k miles. I’m hoping the newer models have better noise reduction, but I definitely feel you in trying to find that balance. I hate loud road noise cars.

    Hey man love the videos, what was Stryker’s background check like?

      Standard to the others I’ve done. I honestly can’t remember if there was a drug test, but most likely there is one.

    as a pharma rep I can definitely say there's a big need for someone like yourself to be the voice of our day-to-day. While I used to get pumped up off of Cardone and learn from Burns, it's so heavily real-estate or SaaS. Pierre, have you considered taking your youtube videos and uploading them as audio-only on Spotify or Apple Podcasts? I'd love to be able to listen to them while I have all this windshield-time! Just curious

      I literally just had this conversation with a friend yesterday. I used to post some of them on Medical Sales Unfiltered Podcast, but I personally didn’t know if just transferring the audio over would be good enough since a lot of the videos are vlog form. What are your thoughts?

    • @CamBrid138
      @CamBrid138 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Honestly, I personally would take whatever audio I could get and be happy. Sometimes I’ll have the video playing on TH-cam through my car and then I get hit with ads/phone overheating

      Alright, you convinced me. An easier listening experience would be appreciated. I’ll work on putting the audio only of the videos on the MSU podcast.

      Hey Pierre! I am currently in Pharma but looking at joining Norvartis. Curious about the company culture can you provide some insights?

    • @PierrePacini
      @PierrePacini 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      My only experience has been in the oncology space, and 99% of the people are extremely welcoming, tenured, and willing to coach/teach. This might be different than other areas as most people work in pharma to make their way into oncology. So the folks here are usually older and more tenured. But the company as whole is pushing some new agendas and one of those is an unbossed attitude. I like that as it helps us focus on our path how we want to. If you find an open role, hmu first and I’ll refer you in. Would also enjoy a quick chat too prior just to make sure I can give you the stamp of approval haha
