I'm an outdoor enthusiast living, and raising my children, in Alaska. I aspire to instill in my children respect, knowledge and a love of the outdoors. Our videos are based on our outdoor adventures, lessons, and projects.
He survived the winter?
I was fortunate to find myself with a bull moose that is past his physical prime, but managed to gather a small haram of cows and certainly fend off some contenders. To he honest I was surprised he made it through the winter, but he looks healthy and ready to rumble.

Three Minute Bull Moose Encounter
มุมมอง 57216 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา
This is a quick one: I spend several hours sneaking and then waiting for a huge bull moose to get up for the evening. Once he decided to get out of his bed, he ran down the hill chasing a cow and my several hours of effort turned into a few minutes of excitement. #alaska #moose #bullmoose
Review: iZeeker iG220 Survives Grizzly Bear Attack
มุมมอง 313วันที่ผ่านมา
This started out as a normal trail camera review and it became clear that this camera functioned very well. The last animal video it recorded was of a grizzly bear attacking the camera. This next video was of me collecting the camera. Currently it appears as though the camera is still functional, so I will put it back into the field and see if it continues to preform. iG220: www.amazon.com/iZEE...
Game Camera Adventures: StealthCam DS4K at the Rut Pit
มุมมอง 58214 วันที่ผ่านมา
This year in installed a new StealthCam DS4K camera at my Rut Pit location. I captured some very interesting moose behavior as well as some fascinating interactions between moose. Additionally, the grizzly bear presence in the area has increased and I compared clip just seconds apart of moose running and bears in close pursuit.
Moose Rut Dilemma

Come along for a great trip into the Alaskan outback in search of huge bull moose. Today we will look over a herd of 13 moose in the post rut period. The dominate bull of the group has fresh scars on his left front shoulder and his nose: he is clearly a warrior.

Argo Bearing Autopsy
มุมมอง 43128 วันที่ผ่านมา
I recently conducted an annual service on my Argo, and in that service, I checked all the bearings on my Argo and found some that needed to be replaced. I made those repairs, but then I wanted to inspect the bearings in an attempt to determine what went wrong and why the bearing failed. At the time I made this video the price for an Argo bearing was $45 and the aftermarket bearing was less than...

Are these Two Bull Moose Related?

The first moose filming trip of the season was a grand success: I saw 2 of monarchs. On the way in I filmed a smaller bull with a drop tine and I can't help but think he is related to one of the big bulls later in the video. What do you think? #alaska #moose #bullmoose

Thank you for checking this one out, it doesn’t get a lot of views. Yes this was very cool, unique place that probably dates back for hundreds, if not longer of years.
@@RaisedinAlaska Dude it's my life dream to go there but probably never will but I can visit through your vides. Thank-you!
@MrSka7cis Thank you, you know the pleasure is all mine.
Great video, must have been tough making it considering how much time they were in the trees.
Thank you. I did have a lot of video and it was not in focus. Filming in the trees is a little tough.
Very Romantic
She must be something in mooseville.
I love the game camera clips.
Isn't yonger animal better quality meat ? those rubber boot must be comfortable for a long hikes like yours Sir or is necessity in swampy areas I guess? keep up a an ex. work and talk more about an equipment used please thanks. also suggestion for music I wish something like music from Survival Opening Titles 1986 for your videos
Thank you for the feedback, I always appreciate it. Younger animals are certainly better eating. For footwear, I would prefer to wear my hikers, but after the rain or in some of the boggy areas, the rubber boots are sure nice.
This bull has a great "grunt". And really great story telling RIA. Thumbs up
Thank you very much.
Thanks again for sharing your great videos of the moose and their behavior this time of year. I never get tired of seeing it.
Thank you very much for the kind words, the pleasure is really all mine.
Massive job to get him home in the Freezer.
That would be a huge job.
Awesome man to Watch.
Thank you for the kind words.
Thanks for sharing the journey, another great view
Thank you, it was a super fun outing.
Pretty much if he sees you its on Sir ?
He knew I was there and there were a couple times I had to skedaddle out of his way. When I watch the video this morning I was surprised I didn’t show a couple of my quick exits. I should have.
Thats alot to leave out there.
Hello Sir I here.
Hello Mark.
My father worked on the Denali highway in 1956. My first trip was up there while he was working.I was 14. Some of the rigs we used were old weasels, 4x4 old dodge military rigs with 20 inch aircraft tires. This new stuff makes it a lot easier, you don't have to rebuild them all the time. There are a couple of those rigs still up there if you know where to look. I use a 6x6 polaris now.
Dandy rig. I’ve had conversations about going that direction.
How should I go there...dreams will come thru.
There are no roads to Noorvik so you have to fly in. In another month it would be safe to fly into Kotzebue and then go by snowmobile, that would be an epic trip.
Děkuji.
Awesome catching the ice breath on the moose!!! He’s really smoking it huh???

@AKKEN Thank you. Just a few days before all of his tines were intact, but when I found him on this day, he had one broken tine and was missing one. I would’ve liked to have seen that rumble.
very cool video RIA. I was waiting for the end, and it was great!

All of a sudden he hears a voice behind him say " who you calling a dirty booger? "
It was a little unnerving collecting that camera. I can guarantee you I didn’t take any extra time getting that task done and exiting the area.
Frost Art Amazing
The art work is amazing.
I guess he didn’t want his photo taken
It would appear that way.🤣
in my area i put every camera in a steel box and i have found any external antenna or solar panel is just bear candy. i tried a Campark dual lense this year and the video is next level, hopefully when i retrieve it after first snow i will have something good to show.
Yes, I generally have mine and bear boxes. I agree with you, Camppark and Voopeek are next level cameras.
Safe Sunday to you
Thank you, I can honestly say when I was collecting the camera yesterday, and having seen the fresh grizzly tracks, I was a bit nervous.
Looks great Sir
Cool man thank you😊
Thank you, I’m looking forward to seeing how the camera performs in the field after this incident. I just retrieved it yesterday and includes together last night. I planned it deploy it back in the field today.
My bnv20 hasn't been used fir a while I just went to use it today and when I try to power it on the mileseey logo shows up and then goes off and never fully boots up any idea what could be wrong? I tried the battery from it in a torch I have and it's working fine.
My first guess would’ve been battery, but it sounds like you’ve eliminated that as a possibility. I would call customer service. When I first did this review, they seem very responsive to my questions.
@RaisedinAlaska Thanks for the reply, I'll give that a try I've emailed them but I suppose a reply to an email might take a while.
@wildcamp80 Good luck, if you think about it and have time, I would be curious how they treat you and what you find out.
No problem I'll certainly let you know what my experience is like.
@@wildcamp80 Thank you.
Nothing better than driving the Argo through everything lol. And if you do happen to get stuck you pull out the winch and away you go lol!!!
Yes, it’s an amazing little machine.
Thank you for risking your well being for this killer footage!
It was poor judgment on my part. He gave me signs, but I was so wrapped up in the moment that I missed them.
Holy Moose! The paddles on that monster are amazing! Excellent photography! Thanks for sharing!
Thank you, I was extremely fortunate.
You d ont fuck around with moose in rutting season your just showing off serves you right
I really like the longer, more inclusive moose rut behavior videos. Did you lose footage between 9/9 and 10/9, or do you have other plans for future videos in that time frame?
Very observant, and great question. The game camera failed to work during that time frame. It seems to become a continuing problem with one brand of camera that I use. That said, I’m phasing that brand out.
Excellent filming! Just curious... Why no visible side arm? I see the spray obviously... With regard to where the big bulls are located, have you used a drone yet to check? Thermal or regular? The range they have now days, you should be able to really cover a lot of area...
Generally in the fall I do not carry a side arm. In the spring I do, but in the fall the bears are more interested in salmon and their cubs are wiser than when they first undenned in the spring. I have a drone, but my pack is already full and heavy. 😉
@@RaisedinAlaska You know someone is an Alaskan when they have those times and dates down to a science = bear activity.. How about the crazy people you might come across? :p. I live outside of Houston, TX.. G29 w/Xstremes.. Absolutely more safe up there! Thanks for the response.. The one thing I have commented on more than anything... Situational Awareness anywhere you... Enjoying your videos! Appreciated!
Excellent points. Frequently a person needs to more concerned about people than wildlife and situational awareness. I am try to be mindful of wind direction and areas where I could surprise a bear: think cover dead smelling things... There are “rules” in bear country and if a person doesn’t attend to them an unpleasant encounter is more likely: been there done that, but I was fortunate and walked away jittery and more educated.
Wow what a monster bull there eh!
I was lucky to be in the right place at the right time. 🍀
I have an Argo Avenger 750 EFI and have to start a project like this. I take it there’s an inner bearing on that shaft, too? If you replace the outer bearing should that inner one be replaced at the same time? Will the tire movement you are doing here show that both bearings need to be replaced … or just the outer?
The outer bearing are consistently exposed to water so they have more issues. I generally do not change the inner and outer bearings at the same time. This test will also help determine if there is an issue with the inner bearings.
Very well done RIA. Great job!
Thank you very much.
Love that bull at 5:12 seconds. Big dude!
He is a real dandy.😍
Great job! I love this vid. Watched it twice.
Thank you so kindly. I really enjoy the game camera footage.
Great video there eh! I'm in Southeast Canada. Have a small channel. Check it out when you can there eh! Thanks

Another excellent video. What a collection of Alaskan wildlife in one location. I would call that spot a game camera honey hole. I never imagined a rut pit attracted so much attention from other species. Certainly a study in animal behavior. Both moose and other critters. That was a great capture of the grizzly hot on the heels of the cow and calf. I’m will be going to my large screen desktop computer later and watch it again.
Thank you for the kind words. This has been a very productive spot for a few years.
Your ability to track and record moose is amazing! Did you already know this area was used for moose rut activity or did you just stumble across signs of moose traffic?
Over the course of the last several years, I spent a lot of time in this area walking trails and looking for rut pits. I have tested many game camera locations: some failed and somewhere very successful.
You should make more butchering videos this year
It is on my list.😁
@@RaisedinAlaska you should buy a cabelas 1hp carnivore meat grinder and jerky slicer attachment for when your older cabelas meat grinder gives up
@tinafriesen7115 The 1.75 has a huge throat on it so you can grind big chunks of meat in it. It is probably 12 years old and has done a lot of meat, but I’m hoping it keeps running.😁
