Here is Blender tutorial on how you can control texel density using only Blender without any third-party plugins. This way always works and you can do this at any time. You just need to create simple 1 by 1 meter plane and apply to it special texture - UV checker grid, which you can generate inside Blemder. Then you can apply material with this grid as a texture to the plane and to any object y...

    this "game scale" is very noticeable when playing a game that has been ported to vr

  • @SirKolass
    @SirKolass หลายเดือนก่อน

    If that is true, why doesn't the same happen with cameras when people record stuff? Doors always seems the correct scale when seen in footage. I'm sure the problem lies with how FOV is managed in games. If FOV is increased to give players a wider view, everything will look smaller and more distant.

    Showing the normal reduction maths is great but for anyone who wants a quick node to throw down, "FlattenNormal" will achieve the same effect (the usual 0-1 range inverse). Thanks for the video!

    • @kromenoi
      @kromenoi 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      One more tip - for two-sided normals, pass RG channels from a Component Mask routed from your Normal Map output into a Multiply node. Route a Two-Sided Sign into the Multiply Node. Append the Normal Map output to your new Multiply node and plug that into the Normal output. Presto, two-sided material with correct normals on both sides! What we are doing here is simply ignoring the B channel of the Normal Map with our Two-Sided Sign for two-sided materials. Joy!

    • @nikolayshamaev

Hi! If you don't see assets inside the folders, there may be a problem with Unreal Engine version. Each version has a unique build (for example 5.2, 5.3, and 5.4). Make sure you download from the Vault of the Epic Games Launcher and add it directly to your project. The launcher will then automatically download the correct version.

    hi guys, I am making a 3D open world videogame in Unity. I am working on the door opening and closing animations. Would you recommend me to leave the full animations as it is (it takes about 2-4 seconds to open and close doors) (some say it is frustrating to wait) ...second optinon would be short animations, where you click the open button and the camera will change view into inside view and character will be inside or outside the building.....or leave the doors open all the time and not deal with any animations at all???.....what do you recomend???

    Greetings Nikolay. Im an architect currently working on my PhD for precisely this topic. It's obvious that real world scale cant be used 1:1 in a videogame due to the 3 factors you've shown us. But im wondering if there is a rule of thumb or a minimum dimension when designing 3D models of a game environment and interior space? For example, for real architecture a single bedroom must be at least 3 meters x 3 meters to be considered comfortable. Are there figures like this for the architecture in videogames? If so, where can i learn more? Thanks in advanced.

    Cool video, and a quick tip for anyone who wants a clean material scene: you can also split 3 channels using UE's "BreakOutFloatXComponent" node - X being the number of channels up to 4. It does the same thing as above but contains it inside a tidy Material Function.

    • @kromenoi
      @kromenoi 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Also one more optimisation note: you don't need 3 separate Vector nodes, you can have one summed to white and then use the existing pins to split off R G B.

    that works perfectly, could u please tell , how to bring this to sequencer ? i tried animating the speed parameter, but the values are extremely small , one loop happens between 0.000025 to 0.00005 lets say, and if i click render it doesnt work, and if i restart engine , the sequence doesnt work at all, but the panner works in the viewport, i would really appreciate if there is a fix for this
