how much insulation do you got in your wall and roof to keep +5'C inside?
The barn has a scissor truss with 3-4 inch blown in insulation and the wall only have a plastic curtains from the concrete wall up. I can control the chimney vents and if it gets really cold and windy I close the vents but humidity will increase so I try to get open as soon as possible before tilling the next morning . The barns chimney allow the hot air to rise up and out while the cool air enters from the sides with temperature controlled roll up curtains. I hope that helps!

All you need is a model owl, like standing on a branch. Put the Owl in the most visible and elevated position, the other birds will stay away from the bird of prey. best regards.

That's right, and the tmr is wrapped bales and corn silage.
@@MartyFarmFilms sorry for taking your time but how much milled corn and tmr ration does one cow consume per day during lactation?
That depends but generally one cow will eat 50kg of TMR per day and 6KG of corn. I have since this video was made switch to feeding a 18% protein pellet in the robot. Corns too expensive now to feed to cows.

Do you have to keep adding straw?
Yes, we add the equivalent to one 8 foot square bale per day. I do it once a week. Today I’m bedding with corn stalks.

Near Ottawa. The pack is 200Feet by 50 feet. The barn is 272 feet by 74 Feet wide

What's the dimension of your barn
The pack is 50feet by 200feet long . The entire barn is 72 feet wide and 272 feet long.
Fascinating video. We're considering doing the same. Are you able to keep robot busy 22-23 hrs. a day even though cows can go outside. How can I contact you? We're north of Walkerton on Bruce County.

Do you pre chop the straw before needing the cows? How do you add the straw
We do not pre chop the straw, we uses a modified manure spreader to apply the straw, check out my other video about composting straw

Do you think the liquid molasses is necessary to keep visits up? Or would just the grain mix be enough to keep cows coming to robot.
The molasses is necessary to help the cow digest so much corn at once...It can be done without, but the production isn't as good
Not only can it get it done, it can do it better then any modern tractor rated at 93 hp. Allis Chalmers 👍
Is each cow getting 6kg at the robot? Or based on production? How much liquid molasses does each cow get?
In the name of consistency I have each cow on fixed feeding @6kg /day and 1oz of molasses
