I generally ride a 32T. Sometimes a 34T for short track and sometimes a 30T for marathon events. It will accommodate a 28T.

You just have to make sure that you have XT8100 that is Boost compatible and buy the matching bottom bracket.

If you want to save money the fork can be upgraded for $650. Shock is $850. So you can move to FA for $1500. Sell your existing shock for around $250 and your upgrade cost is $1250ish.

​@@mwssspI had a 2016 Anthem Advanced 0 with Rockshox RS-1 fork with a 120mm kit. Two position front and rear. Rode it until 2021. Bought the Epic 7 Pro Feb of 2021.

@@Highway_95 that 2018 Anthem was a game changer over the older one imo. Either way excited for this build. Seems like I’ll be happy with the lockout or flight attendant. You still loving the flight attendant? Heard others saying it sometimes has issues?

I haven't had any issues yet. I think that it's really good. Necessary, maybe not, but really good.

Fox Neo is for trail/DH, FA is used for XC but also in trail/DH

@@funLad80 False. Neo is advertised for trail, but perfectly doable for XC.

@@svtrader False. Neo is advertised on Fox website as an all-mountain shock. All-mountain. Shock. All-mountain. Shock… Flight Attendant is a full system including fork, shock and power meter/cadence sensor. Fox is working on XC system, that includes fork lockout.

Yes, I ended up setting up the suspension without Flight Attendant for a few weeks. The top tube has an opening in it to run the cable for the twist-loc that exits right in front of the shock. I'll try to get another video up.

⁠@@Highway_95 thanks, there are 2 opening ? One for the rear brake and another for the lock control cable? I’m curious to see which control lock are you using in Fork and Shock. Waiting for next video!

Yes, you're exactly right. We had to have a faulty fridge replaced under warranty right after buying our first Grand Design. The dealer had it for over a month, zero communication from them, messages went unanswered. I'm in the process of upgrading the solar and electrical. One of the updates will be a solar disconnect switch so that I don't have to go to the roof to disable the solar panels.

I don't have enough time on the Epic Evo to answer that for sure. You wouldn't notice as much difference as I do going from the regular Epic to this bike.

What a great video, thanks. I am building a evo 8 and just like you I decided to to build one with parts i believe are better for the same price or even cheaper. I got the fox factory 34 with the latest grip X and not the grip 2. NOBL wheels and dt swiss hubs, magura trail sl brakes, one up dropper. And just like you I really care about the looks of a bike, and that mold greenish of the pro is horrible, so a white frame matching with a orange kashima fox will look amazing. Arundel Mandible carbon. I don't have any complaints. I've never lost a bottle. Easy in and out with Purist bottles. Can't comment on other bottle brands. I only own Purist bottles.

I'm 5' 9.75" around 177cm. This is a size Large with a 70mm -6 degree stem. I'm not sure my exact inseam. Around 30-31 inches.

@@joshuasimms117 only the fork can be upgraded. The shock has separate machining for the twistloc vs FA control module. Retail on the damper assembly and control module for the fork add to $650, the shock is $850, so $1500 total for the upgrade. Sell the old shock for $300 and end up around $1200 out of pocket. Retail on the FA fork and shock comes to $2450, sell old fork and shock hopefully for around $1000 and end up at $1450 out of pocket and don't have to pay shop for the install or worry that it's done right. Ends up pretty close to a wash...and I'm not paying retail for the FA stuff.

You're probably seeing my TOGS. Thumb Over Grip. They allow alternative hand positions by hooking your thumb over them. I'm a big fan. For long events like Leadville or Boise Trails Challenge they are lifesavers.

@@funLad80 I'm also 178cm. I ride a Large. I was really tempted to buy a Medium and use a longer stem to get the right reach but keep a shorter wheelbase. I ended up going with a Large since my last Epic is a Large and I was very comfortable on it.

70mm, -6 degree.

​@@funLad80I currently have 15mm of spacers under the stem. I think that with one more removed position will be perfect and nearly identical to my other Epic. When my new fork comes I'll cut it shorter.
