I recently moved into O Gauge last month this year and I really love it. I have a micro end to end depot based layout that can hold 3 locomotives with a 4th at a push. I really like this model from Lionel although I am starting off with Heljan and Dapol and the name of my layout is Hermes Road TMD. It's early days but it gives me a lot of fun to run trains. The articulate is crazy!

I bought the entire consist which is 8 cars total ,but instead of purchasing the steam locomotive ,I purchased an E 7- A B A diesel consist from Lionel and the paint on them are a perfect match . Before the 1948 version of the Twenty Century Limited was implemented to replace the 1938 train ,E 7 diesels in the "Beauty Queen " paint scheme were used to certain E 7 diesels to haul the 1938 train. I noticed that everyone who were reviewed this collection ,were concerned about the color not being prototypical ,but no one commented about the sleeping cars not being correct . All of the passenger cars on the 1938 train had full skirts and the 5 double 5/10 sleeping car had it's double bedrooms at one end of the car and not in the center. It appears as if Lionel used the sleeping cars from it's 1948 Broadway Limited train a few years back and those sleeping cars has no skirts and a few of the 6 /10 sleeping cars had the bedrooms in the center of the car for that 1948 train.

Did you notice that oddly the cylinder covers are painted in what the entire engine should have been? They obviously had the paint and the color.

I was thinking of getting into Lionel train Hobby. I have Marklin trains now; HO but I reall like the Lionel O-scale...what would you reccommend as a starter set... I really like the steam Locos. Any help from anyone would be appreciated. Thank you 🙂

Excellent and BRAVO FOR FIXED PILOTS! That was the only deal killer for me with Lionel Locomotives. I just pre ordered TWO of these! One powered and one Super Base. PLUS the EMD E5 Locomotive that is available with fixed pilot and finally a Fixed Pilot Switcher; The SW-8…I only Run 084 & 072 curves. The lowest I’ll go is 060. 👍🏽🇺🇸

I sent my turbine back defense unit four times. I will never mail them anything again when I got it back the wheels were hanging off.

The Only thing I don't like is one of the coaches that's both the baggage and passenger coach with the words "United States Mail & Railway Post Office" Because I'm not a big fan of ail related stuff and the words it said on the Dreyfuss Hudson or 20th Century Limited coach on it and it doesn't suit me good. It's fine if y like it that's not a problem but for me it is If I had something like this I would put something to cover up those words so I won't see them like maybe I sticker saying 20th Century Limited or anything like that if I had something like that and that will be pretty amazing for me. It's fine if y like it but I won't I'll just make this into my version if I had something like this myself. thanks for sharing

This is a really nice train set I really like it it reminded me of its appearances on I Love Toy Trains parts 11, 12, The Final Show and All About Trains along with The Hiawatha and Union Pacific F3 Passenger set during the Hiawatha segment.

I just came across your video as I TOO just purchased the 6-pack WITH the station-sounds car ALL from 1 person AND won this particular Dreyfuss from an auction. I went with this hudson vs. the Legacy for the esthetic; the color was a PERFECT match for this consist. Just waiting for it to arrive. Thank you for sharing.

Does this Visionline Big Boy have the independent puffing smoke as the earlier Visionline Big Boy's do? I've seen so videos where the two stacks puff on each chuff together. It's hard to see on your video.

Nice video, I just bought my 4019 last week and tested it and all worked fine. This is my first Vision Line. I do have a little (just a little) buyers remorse, as to get the added smoke features you have to pay around $2700 with taxes. I'm a MTH guy and have three Premier Big Boy's, they don't sound as nice as my Lionel 4019, or smoke as good either, and no command control (4012 & 4018 PS-1) but my newest MTH (last one by Mike Wolf) 4014 looks and sounds good, but I paid $1000.00 less. Oh, and weighs about 4 more pounds engine + tender than Lionel 4019. I'll be running my Lionel 4019 on my clubs layout soon, can't wait! On another note: Robert Jackson is incorrect, those are smoke deflectors, that is the proper name. They keep the smoke up, but probably not that good as they were not widely used. Thanks for sharing your Lionel Vision Line Big Boy, keep it up!

Big boy carries a big price over $2000😩 you want to play you have to pay.

I noticed something out of sync on this locomotive, the 2 middle wheels on the front set on the left side look like they are not contacting the rail

those panels on the side of the smoke box are not smoke deflectors cause think about it, how do they help with the smoke while it's still inside the locomotive, the smoke comes out the top through the stacks and the smoke deflectors are usually on top where the go up beside the stacks.
