Yes I have recorded a band wirh this mixer... it's very easy to set up and the pre-amps are very clean.

Hi, this is possible. Each of the AUX outputs has its own FX out on page three of the Fader page. 1) Go to page three of the Main LR fader page and turn down FX1, FX2, FX3 and FX4. 2) Go to page three of the the AUX fader page mix. 3) Turn up the FX 1 - FX 4 in this page. This will make the FX come out from only the monitors and not the Main LR mix.

Hi, looking online, the Denon Prime 4+ has bluetooth out functionality. You can use this to output sound from the Denon to the CQ mixer... Alternatively, you can connect the Denon's main outputs to the mixer or PA system for a more reliable connection.

Hi, Gain assist is really useful if you want to manage gain. The Auto set feature is useful if you want to set gain across multiple inputs. But if you're worried that a signal might clip during a performance, turn the auto gain feature on. The Auto gain feature will automatically turn down the gain when a signal is clipping. Note that it will only decrease gain, not increase it. Neither feature is "better", they just have different functions. Hope this clarifies...

Yes. I usually record in the 'post preamp' mode so I can mix later on... This means none of the mixers effects are applied to the SD Card recording.

You can do a mix minus using the AUX Outputs paired in Stereo. Not sure about duplicating the main LR with post AMM engaged...

@crosslylucas I did a test last night. And noticed that when AMM is engaged, is also affects the outputs 1-6, it's great, I'm happy with this mixer

Hi, sorry for the late reply... as the CQ 18t has 24 Outputs (18 Physical and 6 software) the 6 software outputs are set to stereo pairs (19,20) (21,22) (23,24). These outputs can be assigned to send different mixes from the mixer to the recording inputs on a DAW. This can be configured through CONFIG > USB/BLUETOOTH> channel assignment section (bottom right). One way of using this could be to send the FXs outputs through these software outputs. FX1 > 19,20 FX2 > 21,22 Hope that helps...

@@crosslylucas Hi, no problem for the late reply. I owned the mixer in the meantime. Sorry for the confusion because I talked about the DAW outputs, not the inputs that are indeed 24, with 17-24 freely assignable. I figured out that outputs 1-18 are sent to the right channels of the mixer. Outputs 19-20 are sent to the USB channel of the mixer. But outputs 21-24 (24 outputs appears in REAPER instead of 22 because it's supposed to be a 24/22 audio interface) are not sent. I didn't find what is the point of outputs 21-24. Can you shed on light on this, please?

To be honest, I don't quite know... you are right about inputs 19-20. My guess is that 21-22 were to output to the Bluetooth track on the mixer, but nothing shows up when audio is sent to 21-22 from the DAW. Maybe they are configured differently on the CQ20B...

​@@crosslylucas I got it. In the processing tab you can choose to switch the Bluetooth channel to the USB/Card 23-24 outputs. Not convenient but it works 👌

Hi, this depends on the source point of the recording... If the source point is set to 'post preamp', none of the settings will be recorded. But if the source point is set to 'post AMM' all settings will be recorded on the recording. The source point can be changed under config> USB/SD> Source point...

Hi, as the mixer cannot simultaneously play and record on the USB stick, there is no way to record the FXs or processing of the USB channel back to itself. You would have to play audio through the USB channel and record through the SD card.

Hi, just found this out from another commenter: The stereo out can be assigned to the USB channel through the DAW. In logic Pro, this can be done by going into settings > audio > I/O Assignments > and selecting the output to 19-20. This will send the steoeo output to the USB track on the CQ mixer.

This is a fine recorder for doing sound checks and to record a rehearsal for instance, or conference meetings. Nobody expects to record the next pop stars platinum selling live performance hahahaha!
