This autofocus lens is less than $200 and shoots like a Leica | TTartisan AF 75mm f2
I am not sponsored by TTartisan. I just think they're neat.
Here's a link, anyway: ttartisan.store/en-ca/products/ttartisan-af-75mm-f2
I don't know. Sometimes a lens just works for you. And no, I wasn't paid to do this. I wasn't even given this lens to try. I found it randomly while browsing and bam -- autofocus lens by a cool brand for cheap? I had to try it. I'm always looking for neat lenses to use for video but figured my bread and butter is photo so I blended the two.
This lens feels like the first time I shot with a Voigtlander. Or maybe the first time I shot with a Contax Zeiss. Or maybe even a Leica. Something about it makes the images just pop up off the screen in a way that I find hard to describe. Something about micro contrast. Something about imperfections. Something about 75mm being an atypical focal length -- I honestly do not know.
I've been a fan of third-party lens companies since I was able to afford a lens beyond the kit lens that came with my old Canon 7D. It's really something to be able to try so many different options without having to always empty your bank account.
Truly, I hope that they make more lenses in this lineup. I'd seriously consider grabbing a 28mm or 45mm or something like that.
Thanks for stopping by!

Hi there, I'm a photographer working in South Korea. I’m currently using a Nikon P7100 and a Canon G10, both of which I’m really drawn to because they're As I mentioned earlier, I'm a commercial photographer, and I’d like to use these cameras for my commercial work. Recently, I tried doing a flash sync test because I wanted to use studio flashes with Godox triggers (X2T, X3) and a couple of universal triggers. Surprisingly, the G10 worked just fine, but the P7100 just wouldn’t sync I thought my P7100 might be faulty, so I bought another one of the same model. Now I have two P7100s, but strangely, the new one works perfectly fine with the flash sync! So, I’m really curious-when you use external triggers or speedlights, do you have any issues with the sync not working, like I did? (Oh, and by the way, I can use optical sync with the built-in flash, but I really don’t want to do that. I only want to rely on triggers for my studio lighting setup.) I’m not trying to push too hard to test something that might not be relevant if you don’t normally use triggers or speedlights. I’m just asking out of curiosity because, with it being such an old model and not widely used, I couldn’t find much information about it. I even contacted the Nikon service center in Korea, but they didn’t really have a helpful response and were quite skeptical about the triggers working with the P7100. Thanks so much for reading this, and I really appreciate any insight you might have! I hope only good things come your way, and thanks again for the wonderful conversations and advice!

The whole process is great fun. However, personally I found that once I had tracked down some of the Dicams I'd settled upon, and for a sensible(ish) price, the novelty of using them wore off, and I went back using my phone. I found I could get as close or closer to 'film' look using my phone, and applying a 'film-look' LUT afterwards. And no other editing. I get that the point of this video is not that.

Haha But all that said, I have put the digicam in my small pouch and I'm going to re-invigorate some casual photography.

It's all about trying to find the hidden gems, they are there. Decay, abandonment, details, juxtapositions, textures, etc, lots of ways to explore. I'm out soon, in an area I grew up in as a young kid. A place I know so well, but have not visited for a good number of years, so I need to catch up, if only for curiosity and nostalgia's sake. My plan is to document this photo-walk, creating a narrative with a series of images. A "day in the life" of my town, if you like. I'm going to try and capture the bustling moments and the more quiet, still moments, for that touch of contrast. That's the plan at least. I then plan to revisit and photograph again, but purposely taking different, unfamiliar routes, changing the perspective, and see what is revealed. Almost like I was visiting this place for the first time. Should be interesting. I'll be doing this with my small Fuji X-T30ii and just one lens. Talking about new camera bags, I just got (another!) new one. I do a lot of street style photography and I like to travel light and compact. Although I do have larger size backpacks, I prefer a sling for day to day use. So I convinced myself I needed a new sling bag, did a ton of research, and opted for the K&F Concept 10L sling and I'm so glad I did. Compared with the 'top-flight' bags, it comes in at a very sensible price, one third the price of some and I'm very happy with it. Perfect size for me, nice quality and great to wear. Personally, to answer your question, I love this kind of video. It can help people spark new ideas, we get to see good images, the one at 8:00 is my favourite, and there is that human element, so the video has a warmth and is not sterile...and also, I'm always fascinated to see new places. I thoroughly enjoyed your photo-walk.... ...and, TBH, I like the creative, slightly more leftfield videos as well, perhaps experimenting with recipes, more unusual subjects/perspectives etc...Perhaps a mix of both?...I'll tune in regardless. Note to self: need to get more concise.

Just bought the X100 and gotta say, minus the non manual focusing with a true RF, I am enjoying it as much as my M10 honestly.

I really enjoyed this video! I fell out of love with photography a long time ago (probably around 5/6 years ago) some of your photos remind me of the way I used to enjoy framing (the way I used to enjoy creating my art) and I used to use a 70mm or 90mm lens rather than the more standard 35 or 50.

    The alternative is the X-T30 with a 18 or 27 Fuji/Voigtländer....

@@stefanbender2584 I love my 18mm f2. It's the first lens I tried on this camera but because both the lens and the camera are so old, the autofocus was quite sluggish and inaccurate. So, putting the 27mm on it gave it some better performance. Plus, I don't love using MF lenses on bodies without viewfinders.

Nice vid man ! Nice images. And I wasn't too mad at the filter / look on the Osmo.. I woulda never guessed that it was the Osmo. I kinda like that, when you don't know for sure.

It's a weird filter! I don't mind the mist (I use them sometimes for filmmaking) but the vignetting....good Lord. Thanks for the sub!

Good to see you again, Aaron! I deeply resonate with you in this video. I had a few weeks where I was questioning myself about what is inspiring me and what is making me happy. I basically stopped producing and filming for TH-cam because I was putting so much pressure on myself to make good content, but that pressure was not making me happy at all. I think, because we are both creative people and we are lucky enough to work in creative fields and not what is considered a "normal job," having these moments of questioning or not enjoying what we do is quite normal. As you said, inspiration does not come from just one form of art and expression. I've recently started experimenting with very simple videos, without any talking, just long frames and pictures that work well with the music-more like visual poetry. I know that this is not something really appreciated on TH-cam, especially as a new creator; however, doing these videos made me very happy and excited. I always like your videos and your way of thinking. It feels like listening to a wise friend who has experienced something similar to my experience, and it's nice to be heard and not feel alone in the cauldron of the internet. Keep doing what makes you happy and inspired. At the end of the day, the person who needs to be satisfied and happy is you.

Hey Aaron Life man..... what's it all about eghh 😆 Rule No.1 - just keep being Aaron and do whatever Aaron likes best. Being self conscious and worrying about what others like is..... a bad feeling. TH-cam is just TH-cam and unless its your primary goal in life then do with it what you please and when you please. Easy on the Donuts dude. Donuts destroy lives. You know that. 😅 📸😎👍

I really appreciate that. Generally speaking, it's just me thinking about what I want rather than what randoms on the internet want -- but sometimes there's this desire to do something more general/sweeping. Thanks again!
