"Thine Alone" - Frank Sinatra (Radio Broadcast) (1944)
I want to start off by thanking my friend for not only introducing me to this song's existence, but also making me aware Frank had sang it. Very big thank you to @CademonS for bestowing this great tune to my ears. I too in turn would like to do the same for you.
It won't come as a surprise I love Frank's body of work to when he peaked career wise. That is largely in part to his vocal capabilities, as well as his song selections from this period. Most notably those songs which were chosen to specifically highlight a songwriter's composition/lyrics or songs that Frank did ever so sparingly. This would happen to be an example of both. I present one of Frank's greatest vocals to ever be recorded noncommercially.

Making its debut in 1934 as part of a musical titled: Revenge with Music, this lovely song carried its weight and had a resurgence in popularity during the 1940s and 1950s. The show it stems from was considered a failure by many; this song managed to carry its way through and become an instant classic as the years progressed. I now present the first ever known recording of Frank attempting this...

Happy Fourth of July to all of those who celebrate. I know this isn't something usual for this kind of holiday, but I wanted to deviate from what is expected on this day. There's already plenty of patriotic songs posted around online as well as on my channel. With that said, I heard this audio very recently and I didn't think it was Sinatra upon the first five seconds of me listening; hearing m...

This popular song about sorcery and voodoo was something Frank was very fond of doing as he performed this song over ten times throughout his career. This would happen to be the third instance of him doing it, proceeding just a little under nine months of his original studio recording at Capitol with Nelson Riddle as the arranger and conductor (May 20, 1957). Also included is a brief final segm...

This song was brought to my attention after stumbling upon the sheet music accidentally online and seeing Frank's face plastered on it. Of all the novelty songs Frank did ever so sparingly, this is one that stood out to me as one of the most beautiful and touching. Once you listen for yourself, you'll see what I mean. I will also note this song was originally written as a wartime song that never made its way to the general populous outside of select broadcasts. I will post a link to another version of this particular song recor...

I was skimming through what songs I noticed Frank barely did and came across these two he did in a short medley fashion on Bing's television show. Frank had performed "If I Could Be With You" before with Bill Miller backing him up on his radio show "To Be Perfectly Frank". This was the last time he had ever performed this song. The same can be said with the song he duets with Peggy Lee titled: ...

There is something special that has always gravitated me to this song. Likely because of the masterful storytelling and the hopefulness this song gives off. I for one am a huge fan and love the officially released version on the Capitol album titled 'Where Are You?' This is a fantastic song! What a spectacular performance from Frank Sinatra! Very rare song as well.
Congrats brother this is beautiful they don't make em like this anymore God bless
Very nice performance as to be expected from Frank Sinatra! What was the other song that Sinatra thought was one of Victor Herbert’s best?
@@crystalraptor195 It was “A Kiss in the Dark” which the choir backing him for the second half of the song sang. I snipped it out merely to focus strictly on Frank’s lovely vocals. Glad you liked it.
Wonderful finally hearing it, thanks for uploading.
Never again will we have this talent, coolness, and fun. AND with a nightly live orchestra too. I need a Time Machine!
who are the girls? McGuire Sisters +one? Gene Kelly's verson may be iconic and more expressive, but Frank here has the better quality vocal tone.
He seems so young for 1958. Which would’ve been like 42-43

Pretty stuff, amazing we still get to hear new Sinatra so long after he’s gone 😂🤌🏼 thank you!!
How you find all this infomation so consistently in every video description? Its impressive.
I conduct a lot of research, reach out to several collectors who have been collecting for decades, and usually before I consider what I want to post, I have the information already handy so it's easy to put a description together by the time a video goes out.
I love it, thank you for showing and sharing this with us 🙏🙏🙏
Glad you enjoyed, it was my pleasure since I found this piece and particular performance to be quite spectacular.

Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.
Hi, how do you upload that content of Sinatra without getting copyright restrictions? i want to upload some content that i download but i always get that advice. Thank you!
There is no guaranteed way around it unfortunately and a decent portion of my videos bypass the copyright restrictions is due to the fact they're rare and not sold by a label in any capacity so there's no rights held to certain songs/videos. With that said when you post another artist's work you will likely get hit with some form of it due to how the copyright law functions. But overall the copyright will hit a good chunk of your videos but depending on the rights holder ultimately determines the fate of how much it is affected. Don't get discouraged though and just upload what you can and if it gets blocked make sure you follow the procedures. I had one video get copyright struck by FSE (Frank Sinatra Enterprises) and I had to stop uploading for 4 months until the restriction was lifted. This happened back in 2021. Just experiment and let me know how it goes because that's more or less what I do until either I bypass or eventually something gets striked or taken down.
@@TheSinatraCollection Hi, thanks for you reply, dont worry just changed my nickname i am the same. @@Oskar_5975 With anything from those specials they actually allow single song uploads as I proved that with "Thanks For The Memory" from his 1981 special. So just experiment with what you are truly feeling like posting and sharing and go for it. It's the only way to find out what gets around their nonsensical copyright and what doesn't.

Prime Frank off a must have “A Swingin’ Affair” Lp. Great job in the colorization….👍
Thank you I appreciate it. Interesting. Frank was originally set to play Billy in Carousel. This gives us a glimpse as to what that movie might have been with Frank Sinatra in that role.

Another great Hammerstein 11 / Rodgers song .

I wish sinatra had written more original pieces
He wrote quite a decent chunk considering how busy he was and how musically inept he was as far as reading and writing sheet music was concerned. On the top of my head the list of songs he wrote or had some contribution in are: this video's song, "Shelia", "Take My Love", "Peachtree Street", "I'm A Fool To Want You", "Mistletoe and Holly", & "Mr. Success"
What I notice about that list is there’s nothing that he wrote when he was at Reprise; although I’ve read that he’s thought to have contributed greatly to the “Future” section of the Trilogy album.
@@ScottDerkez From what I was told by other collectors indirectly and what I read around through various forums and documents is that Frank didn't directly contribute for that section, but likely he directed what he could given his semi-decent mental state for the time. Gordon Jenkins probably then took what Frank said in consideration and wrote what he felt would fit Frank's character well; given he worked with him for over 2 decades at that point.
@@TheSinatraCollection What are your thoughts on the Future disc? I absolutely love the whole "The Future" through "The Future Conclusion" section of it; there's some really splendid stuff that's some of my favorite music ever, and there's never anything laughably bad or weird. Having said that, the rest of the album is quite a different story. I like "What Time Does the Next Miracle Leave" at the beginning before it gets all Sci-Fi as well as some later parts in it. And as a guilty pleasure thing, the part where he gets to Uranus and eats pizza is kinda fun. "World War None" is okay in the intro before the choir starts chanting "WAR," and after that I don't have a lot of good to say about that song; it's way too weird for me. The Finale is kinda a microchosm of the whole disc; lots of good, some mediocre and then downright corny. I love the instrumentation throughout most of it and the saloon piano is really cool. But the lyrics get really bad and they treat Sinatra as some kinda cartoon king or something. The last line about "That cat with a scythe" destroys any good the song was able to do, and it's the only time I really get people's complaints about this whole act of music. But poor Gordon Jenkins though, he didn't deserve the backlash he got; if anything, he's the only reason most of this thing is even salvagable.
I’m edging to this rn
