Nice. I had the same issue with my 360 LA block being out of square. Front to back and side to side were 0.010+" differences. One head chamber to deck was 0.020" different. Lot of machining to use the KB quench dome pistons.
Thanks James, I really appreciate you bringing this up. People have a hard time believing these things can be that far off from the factory, but they are. Nothing wrong that can't be fixed, just patience, time and the willingness to do the job. Have a good evening. 👍
It's amazing how much time it takes to get a cam button right.
Thanks Rick, I know thst you know how long these things take. Have a great evening. 👍
That looks very tasty, thanks for sharing, all the best to you and your loved ones
Thank you Donald, I appreciate you so much. Always a kind word. Have a good evening. 👍
I like that depth tool.
Thanks Rick, I will get the model and where I got it at for you. Take care, Ed.
He shouldn't have a head gasket problem now.
Thanks Rick, it should definitely seal up now for sure. Have a good evening. 👍
Oohh man that looks good 😃,,👍 👍
Thank you Anthony, I really appreciate you. 👍
Must be supper time! I was going to snapshot my grii last night and post. Yes good content I like different cooking from around the country...wrenching makes ya hungry and thirsty a car guys gotta eat. I had some real good tacos and Margeritas in Whitefish Montanna a month or so ago. .😁👍
I think Ed could have been many things . His pizza looked good and his bbq chicken looks great but I’m so glad he chose the life of a machinist . I know my parts are in good hands .
Thanks Terry, that's very kind of you. I am happy to be working for you. Have a great evening. 👍
Definitely 💯 delicious 😋 enjoy Ed
Thanks Anthony, I appreciate you. 👍
I’ve got my fork ready!!
Thanks Unfinished Project. 👍
Looks real good Ed. I always use melted butter and lemon juice, you need to give it a try.
Thank Randy, I appreciate it. I will give that a try.👍👍
2 Sundays ago, my wife and I grilled a couple of porter steaks. Had put some seasonings and some A1 sauce on them let them set for about 36 hours. They were delicious. I'm certain that chicken is, " Finger licking Good " . Enjoy Brother 😊
Your steaks sound wonderful Bert. Thanks for watching. Have a great evening Brother Bert.👍
Looks tasty Ed. You make the Colonel proud!
Thanks Andy, I really appreciate it. We like Fingericken good!!

Thanks MoparNut, I really appreciate you. 👍
HI Ed, making 360's great again! Good job on making the decks square! I'm curious how tall the deck height is now.
Thanks Pat, I will get a final deck height. I will load the information in a video or I'll call you.👍👍
@@edsmachine93 No problem sir, thank you!
Great job Ed! Saving an old E58 for an LRT!
Thanks Patrick, Mopars to the front! Have a great day.👍
Hi Ed. Parallel and perpendicular, it’s been a wrestling match but you took the block to the mat.
Thanks Andy, I really appreciate you watching and the positive feedback. Have a great day.👍
wow, great work!
Thank you Ed, I really appreciate you watching and commenting. Have a great day. 👍
Expertly done my friend! You have so many awesome tools at your disposal 😎
Thank you Luis, I really appreciate you watching and the nice comments. Have a great weekend. Take care, Ed.
Nice work Ed! Like the setup fixture. Looks like a Comec mill.
Thanks Hugh, I appreciate you watching and the positive feedback. Yes it is a Comec ACF200. And the blueprint fixture certainly is an asset. Have a good day. 👍
Guarantee those cylinders are straight,,,,really nice Ed,👍 👍
Thank you Anthony, I really appreciate that. I think that it should be a nice engine. Have a great day. 👍
Nice & Square Ed, great job. That block was ringing pretty good. On the Storm Vulcan I used to have about a dozen of those cheap rubber Bungee Cords. I would run the cords through the lifter bores down around the bar to the fixture, or anywhere they would go to get rid of that ringing. Sometimes it would only take a couple bungees to smooth it out. There was a certain frequency that the Storm Vulcan hated, and it would leave a horrible surface finish if you didn't try and dampen it. If you ever run into that problem, give it a try. Take care.
Thanks Chris, I appreciate you watching and commenting. Yes the harmonic ringing could be a problem on the Storm Vulcan mills but could do it on the Van Norman 530 and 570 rotary broaches. I had a Winona Van Norman VM2000 Vertical mill. Usually when the bits or inserts would get dull or you got a block or head that had hard spots or a weld the factory did. With the CBN insert, it is a game changer for sure. Thanks for the Bungee cord tip. I may have to use it sometime. Have a great day. 👍
All in one Tool !! Very Cool 🏁, and most importantly it has a Highly Experience operator 👍🏼😎👍🏼.
Thanks Jeff, I really appreciate you watching and the positive comments. Have s great evening. 👍
Good job. cutting that much off will that make a problem later on with valve lash where Mopars have no valve adjustment ? I'm not a dodge guy was just wondering but thanks for showing us what it took to get it back true again
Thanks Hippie for watching and commenting. Valve adjustment is no big deal. Get correct pushrods. In this case I believe they are getting Harland Sharp adjustable rockers. So they will need the appropriate pushrods for that application. The same procedure for any engine. Have a good evening. 👍
Theres another one better than new ,another great job Ed I hope people see all the effort you put in to what you do and the extra effort and care that goes into every customer engine, that should be one good running engine 👍
Thanks Terry, I really appreciate you watching and the positive feedback. These engines were low on compression when they were new. .025 is really nothing as this is done everyday on other engines. Glad that you liked this content. Have a great evening. 👍
Warpage. Where the heads as bad as the block?
Hey Nathan, thanks for watching. It was not just warpage, it was machined that way. But yes had a twist with warpage, bad machining ='s head gasket issues. The heads were bad and both heads were cracked. Have a good evening. 👍
should you take a chip off the china rail ?
Thanks for watching Tom. I may, up to the customer. Have a good evening. 👍
WOW all I can say!!!
Thanks Randy, It was bad. But it is fixed now. Have a good evening. 👍
👍👍👍
Thanks JB'S, I really appreciate you. Thanks for watching. Have a good evening. 👍
Beautiful Workmanship by You Ed !
Thank you Brian, I appreciate the positive feedback. Have a great weekend. 👍
Good job ED ! That one was just a little off. Another engine saved from the recyclers.
Thank you Tim, I really appreciate you watching and commenting. Have a great day. 👍
Excellent work! Nothing more impressive than a block perfectly equalized front to back, side to side, and zig zag. That is the ideal foundation to make a runner. It's gonna be a reliable, fun truck.
Thank you Joshua, I appreciate you watching and the positive feedback. I agree, this is a good foundation for sure. Have a great weekend.
Nice work Ed thanks for sharing 👍 and yes we certainly appreciate you 😊 and your work ethic. Enjoy the rest of your day and weekend 😎
Thank Anthony, I really appreciate the kind words. Have a great weekend. 👍
Great work😎👍
Thanks MoparNut, I really appreciate it. 👍
This block came out of the police line or storage . I wonder how bad a regular block could be ? I’m glad it found you to correct it . It’s gonna be a smooth running rascal before long ! Thanks Ed .
Thanks Terry, you never know what will be a good block or a bad block till you start working on it. Cylinder heads are the same way. This block was a surprise to find what I did. The good news is that it can be fixed. Have a good weekend. 👍
It’s amazing all of the work that goes into perfecting a block . The closer everything lines up the longer it should last and the smoother it should run . Thanks for showing all of this behind the scenes info
Thanks Terry, I really appreciate you watching and the positive comment. I certainly think that your engine will be a nice piece for sure. I am excited to get this done for you. Have a great day. 👍
Nice Ed ,,that head will hold now 👍 👍
Thanks Anthony, I really appreciate you watching and the positive feedback. Have a great day. 👍
A nice clean block looks good every time...good work!
Just as well they decided to deck the block, thanks for sharing, all the best to you and your loved ones
Thank you Donald, I appreciate you watching and commenting. This engine would have failed without decking it. Have a great weekend. 👍
Very nice work, Ed. Definitely a well seasoned block!
Thanks Joe, well seasoned cast iron block for sure. The color of the cast looks great Have a great day. 👍
👍👍👍👍
Thanks FirstResponder, much appreciated. 👍👍
Nice work Ed 👍
Thanks 440Pheonix, I really appreciate it. 👍
Wow that was surprising how far that was off. I wonder if the newer 5.9 Magnum blocks are any better.
Thanks 440Pheonix, I appreciate you watching. I am sure the Magnum blocks are closer, do to the use of CNC equipment and more modern fixtures. Have a good day. 👍
How will this affect the fitment of the intake manifold?
Hey Unfinished Project, thanks for watching. Not to bad, may have to mill off the intake face of the head and or intake manifold. Considering that this block was off more than .020 side to side and more than .012 on the passenger side front to back. I am not even worried about it what we have to do to fix it. Have a great day. 👍
I had the same question. Thanks for the answer. 👍
@@VinoRatRodbuildsThanks Robert, I appreciate you watching. 👍
