I've had the same problem at this POI level 6 infested. I've broken all the doors down etc so think it's a fault with the game?

I believe that there is a way to invert the power to the drawbridge

@@Thinchap It's to do with setting up 2 batteries, one more powerful than the other. The weaker battery connects to the door, the stronger battery connects to the weaker battery. The stronger battery then connects to sensors and also to some other miscellaneous items so that when the sensor detects you, it overloads the battery shutting off power to the weaker battery.
@britishrockguy3229 I think there is a slightly simpler way to do it than that, I'll try after horde night :)
You looked into the elevator, and BELOW it, but did you look ABOVE it? Also the roof has the box for the stairs down that you used, but it had more box/rooms up there with locked doors, did you check behind them all?

Yeah, that's disappointing. Glock 9 did that POI a couple of weeks ago, and I swear I remember there being a second floor to the library, but I might be wrong. It's still a great episode.

@@Thinchap I do realise that copyright owners has rights to their property - another content creator I follow is a guitarist, Ola Englund, that found that some Chinese guy stole a whole bunch of his songs and published them as his own under some TenCent Media company so Ola got a copyright warning on his own songs and that is a whole other level of bullshit! Still, any homage to Apocalypse Now has to get a free pass surely!? Now all we need is the ability to throw molotovs from the gyrocopter, It's not napalm but close enough.
@gyllkrans wow, that is a really bad situation! The funny thing about the Wagner stuff is that it the music is public domain. It was the specific recording i used that was the problem. Illmnot make that mistake again!
Technically, the POIs are not built for higher difficulties, thats why they break through walls and doors.

Only 15 minutes in, and I haven't stopped laughing. Right before you ran into the second cactus, I said to myself, "He's going to run into that cactus." Pretty sure you only get engines from full cars, not the wrecks. Did tell you that you needed a ton on ammo for infested clears, regardless of the difficulties.

think you should go with the drawbridge GunsNerds&Steel uses them a lot you could look up his videos for tips to help get it setup right. Still a good video even when things don't go the way you want them too

I got tired of accidentally picking up big doors and drawbridges so I found a solution. After you have it exactly where you want it, just take a few points of damage on it by hitting it with a knife or something that will just take a few points. After that, the 'you must repair before you pick this up' message comes preventing you from accidentally picking it up.

I've always just used the drawbridge for my underground entrance, unless I built a building to cover the exit. The 4x4 used to fit in a 3 block tall entrance using the wedge 60 family of blocks for the decent.

The staircase is awesome. The steep bits blend in with the pillar supports so you don't see the transition between the two. The stairs are perfectly accented with the low skirt going along the sides. It makes them the focal point and POP. The small sized broken pillars complete it but don't take away from the steps and overwhelm the scene. Maybe some broken archways and one complete one will give a theme but might be too Roman. If you think of how A marble or stone archway or (roof) would collapse, that might give you a sense of how the broken pillars might look in the aftermath instead of random bits broken here or there. I'm probably going too deep with the architecture. lol

Make the top of the pillars like under the center part with the sensors (inverted 1/2 cube/pole) then put an URN/PLANTER on top of that. Then add a couple of those urns on the ground near the broken pillars. The Urn on it's side and a little bit away the 1/2 cube/pillar on it's side with a bit of the broken pillar attached (hope that made sense)

A bug leaving trader gates open you say? Well, if you call it Thinchap, sure! 😂 That was one of the things I noticed when you started this series, that you were as particular as I am about closing the trader gates. Which is why I've chuckled a bunch of times lately when you rushed from trader to trader before they close and left the gate open. All that aside, to be honest I much preferred the old look of the garage doors when they were red and metal with no windows. They looked a lot sturdier that way.
Damn, this is the problem with leaving video evidence of my incompetence, people catch me out all the time! And I definitely agree about the garage doors :)
I really think you should widen it by 1 - it is so far away from the main base I do not think it would clash with the bases astetic

It's fine as it is. Nope people tend to forget about trader gates, there is a mod for that.

I built one of your pillboxes (with plans for 2 more) to defend parts of my base. I thought you were exaggerating a bit about the ammo usage. In one horde noght, all 4 SMG turrets depleted themselves. I might have to hire somebody to start farming for the resources just to keep the ammo supply going. They work great though.
Haha yeah, definitely an ammo drain! It comes from just being the way the base evolved over time, initially it was just design as a platform for me to stand on and kill from :)
I feel you on the too many projects, I am enlisting the help of one of my buddies I am teaching how to play to do my digging projects. I am just about done with phase I of my four phase bunker project, and I already have a wooden crate full of stacks of stone.
Gives more stuff to sell lol. Looking forward to seeing more progress :D
