Shrimp Rangoon from Oklahoma Grown Prawn - Not a Quilting Video but I thought it was interesting
It's not quilting, but I hope you'll take a look and let me know what you think. We've been testing different shrimp recipes with fresh Oklahoma grown shrimp/prawn all summer. I think this is one of my favorites.

    So when you use these decorative stitches are you always stitching off the binding or does it depend on the stitch you pick?

    • @QuiltedPigPhoebe
      @QuiltedPigPhoebe หลายเดือนก่อน

      I would say it depends on the stitch. I kind of want it to hit the middle so the most coverage from the stitch runs close to that loose edge.

    Do you find that one of these works better than the others for some fabrics? Are there any fabrics with which you wouldn't want one of these to come into contact?

    • @QuiltedPigPhoebe
      @QuiltedPigPhoebe หลายเดือนก่อน

      That's a good question. I wouldn't leave the rubber cement lying around in contact with fabric, but I feel like it's pretty safe for cutting after a few hours. The Grippy specifically says it won't stain fabric. Never had a problem with the tape.

    This is a great tutorial for me a new quilter! We should utilize the decorative stitches just like you did. Do you ever trim back the corners in binding them?

    • @QuiltedPigPhoebe
      @QuiltedPigPhoebe 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Absolutely. On the wrap around (last) step, if a corner looks like it will just too bulky to be covered, I'll start by trimming out a little of the batting. Usually that does it, but sometimes it helps to trim off just a little of the folded inside corner of the binding. Just be careful because you want the binding to be "full," and you don't want a hole to show up later. Good luck, and thank you for watching!

    The clamp is to aid the sewer when ripping out a seam etc. It holds the fabric ( Sometimes called "the sewing bird" )… It is a shame someone replaced the cord with that generic "Made In China" cordset. The bakelite connector is gone and the original cord was fabric covered ( this can be purchased from old radio supply companies as well as a correct plug.
