Commenting for engagement to feed the algorithm so this actually shows up for people. This is extremely helpful bro. You're doing god's work right here lol
So thankful you're making a modern tutorial. You can view your textures while in solid shading. You just need to set the color setting to texture instead of material in the viewport shading menu. It's found as the little dropdown button next to the four shading types in the top right of the viewport.
FYI, you can hide the skybox by selecting the faces in edit mode and pressing H, as long as you’re in edit mode the faces won’t be visible, and you can bring them back with Alt+h, that should solve the visibility issues
Hi. I’m new to Halo Map making and i followed your tutorial and another one to play my custom testmap. But for some reason, it always crashes every time i load it in the game. i changed the ownership of the game’s folder to my regular username and changed the permission. No major errors are generated in Guerrilla or Sapien. I tried EVERYTHING and nothing works. The map was exported properly but it just crashes ingame. Any tips on fixing the issue?
This is rad, I also didnt expect it to be so soon. I’m trying to get my first map in some sort of playable form by Thursday even if its just for walking around. Also does halo CE have omni directional teleporters? or can the door teleporters be placed facing upwards so you walk/fall into them?
@@thebutterappletutorials6553 sick, also when I get to the Tool Bitmaps section I type the command and then all I get is the Chelan_1 address and nothing else do you know why this is happening?
Thats a tough question haha I love 3DSMax but that's because I'm much better with it. In terms of Halo CE Maps I haven't had any issues with 3DSMax whereas Blender has a tendency to annoy me (although that's probably because I'm not as proficient with it). Both have their pros and cons, Blender is generally much easier to UV Unwrap but lacks the ignore-backfacing and you have to jump through a few hoops to get the functionality of 3DSMax. Its honestly up to you, 3DSMax is expensive I have a student version for college and Blender is free so you get what you pay for. Its whatever you are most proficient with, if you're new to making maps maybe start with Blender and if you really enjoy it maybe move on to 3DSMax!

Hi man, can you make a tutorial on editing textures for weapons or biped tags? I don't know how to extract the base textures and replace them.

OH YES
Is there anyway to bring the .bitmap file into blender or Photoshop? or do we need to use a converter?
I load the map and the gathering exception data window popups or if you’re using chimena, it will say “The game has generated a segmentation fault.”
Is there a way to restore Halo CE’s original HUD bitmaps? Halo CEA’s HUD pales in comparison to the original.
I know there is but I haven't tried it myself yet

Thank you! I'm actually not sure about teleporters yet (I havent messed around with them too much) but I assume it can be any direction!

@@wadewade3790 Sorry but what do you mean by you only get the Chelan_1 address?
Actually nevermind I’m just stupid but I got it now.
Can you use substance painter to texture your map?
whats your opinion on the two software, if I have no experience on either of them, what one would be best to use regardless of price
