Caphouse Museum is an awesome day out, Highly recommend a visit. Edit for the "Full experience" when you go underground and the guide offers the chance to crawl through the "Low Workings" or along the conveyor, take the chance, will really educate you on what the Miners went through in the old days.

I changed a tyre for an engineer on the site last year, he worked at the top of the tower. I asked him the obvious question.... Have you pissed off the top? He smiled and said, of course, I don't come all the way back down when I have to pee 😂

When I was a pupil at Crofton Academy I used to see this when I’d be picked up and dropped off. It’s an oddly amazing site, and I hope it sticks around for many years to come.

It’s pronounced Ar ki va. When I was working in radio had a visit and went up to the viewing platform where all the transmission kit for radio is located . 7 minutes in a small lift inside. There’s a pendulum showing how much it sways in the wind. Got a certificate to say I’d been up it.

Visited this place many a time over the years as i live not massively far from the tower. Always been mesmerised by the sheer size of the structure. Had some strange experiences there too as its a prime dogging spot, so if you get 'flashed' at, theyre interested 😂 lol

There's a graveyard on the outskirts of Newcastle that's now in county park that makes that 1 look like yesterday. There are stones flat level dating to 1600s and the stones that are still legible just about every one was called Elizabeth or John with the occasional George, it's on a site of an old church that was derelict 150 yrs ago. Like that place you have been to if you didn't know it was there you could walk past it a million times and not have a Scooby Doo.

Horton Bank Park was a reservoir. The roman numerals indicate the depth of the water. The mill in the distance is Lister Mill in Manningham.
