Every car they manufacture is preordered online, built and delivered to the customers door. Tesla doesn’t use car lots or dealerships. They’ve managed to bring delivery times down to 6 weeks.

It doesn’t take a year to make a Rolex, certainly not all of them . The ‘rainbow’ bezel models might take a long time to assemble the specific jewel colors, but out side of those very, very limited models, I doubt if testing included it takes more than a month - and much of that would be the time sending them out to get COSC certified as a chronometer.
