    I bought Tombow Airpress (orange version). After unpacking it was unused for over 3 years. Only recently did I put it in my EDC organizer. I tried to write on wet paper - there were no problems. Perhaps you came across a specimen that was improperly stored in the store? I consider it's a practical gadget. Of course, you can alternatively use Uni-Ball or waterproof markers (for example, for writing on DVD-R media).

    Way to guys. Good booze + GOOD friends = GOOD TIMES! Hell, the booze doesn't t have to be good. Air mattress? Hell yes! Wonder if that guy ever slept on a rock the size of a mountain? Seems to me there is more gravity in the ground on a mountain when you lay down. Very uncomfortable. I learned a couple of camping tricks from you guys. Great photography. I go at least twice a year with a couple of old timers to GR just to enjoy the experience of it all. Keep it alive!

    I have a Tombow Airpress in Orange. I love it. I prefer blue ink, but I have to admit I haven't tried a blue ink refill. Refills are manufactured in black, blue, red and green. I'm a small person. I'm 5'1". My glove size is a womans 7. For me the "fat" pens are a great fit. I'm a scientist and my lab coats are extra small, so the Airpress actually will clip into my shirt pocket without falling out each time I need to open a box of solvent. The Uni-Signo is more chemical resistant and I've not had the skipping problems. I tend to use 0.38mm in the Signo DX. The Airpress is an excellent performer for most situations I've ever encountered in a laboratory. I would have to defer to someone who does field work for their performance in actual rain and cold. Rite In The Rain paper performs better than standard notebook paper with regards to getting wet and then accepting the ink. I'd like to see a video using water resistant/waterproof paper and these pens.

    I have seen a lot of videos on tarp setup now and your video is great and too the point. You do not over repeat your knots and procedures. I think that is important because other than repeating yourself and taking more time the viewer can simply rewind and watch it again if they miss something or need to see it over and over. I prefer this format of video, great job keep them coming.

    Lifestraw isn't nearly as good, or as long-lasting, as a Sawyer. And if you want a chemical filter, which, in reality, is simply not necessary if you have any common sense, you want the real thing, not the version Lifestraw has. It's funny. Tens of millions of people swim in lakes, rivers, ponds, and streams every year, and swallow a massive amount of water in the process. They also get the water in their eyes, ears, nose, and other bodily orifices, but somehow there is almost never a health problem associated with it. Three million people in this country drink unfiltered, untreated surface water each and every day because they have no other course. No health problems there, either. In addition, while no one knows the exact numbers, there are tens of thousands of people in the back to nature movement who only drink water straight from streams, lakes, and rivers. And yet many outdoorsmen are scared to death to take a sip of water unless it's been boiled, filtered and you name it.

    You and I share the same mentality towards our gear. If I may make a few suggestions... I would encourage you to place a small lighter in your first aid kit. If one of your hands or arms is hurt at least you’d be able to start a fire with one hand. Second, I would add a second knife or a small leathermen or Swiss Army knife ( following the two is one, one is none concept for a knife) and third I would replace your life straw with a mini sawyer, much much more convenient. I really enjoyed your set up and took some of your ideas to update my gear! Thanks good luck!

      Hey thanks for the feedback. I have since added some things to my pack and have taken some things out. I like your ideas. I have seen the mini sawyer and I like the idea of adding it inline with a reservoir. Have you done this? Maybe ill do an update video. Thanks Christopher!

      All great advice. The number one woodsman knife has always been a pocketknife, but a fixed blade. Woodsmen, including mountain men, longhunters, pioneers, etc., always used fixed blades for self-defense, or for skinning and processing large game. They did every other knife chore, including carving and everything we would call survival tasks, with a pocketknife. For most of this country's history, that knife was a Barlow. By 1750, it was said that every man, every boy, and most of the women owned one. It was probably true. Eventually, when they were invented, the Hunter, the Trapper, and the Stockman took over. These are all far better wood carvers than any fixed blade knife. Two blades beats one, and three blades, as with a Stockman, beats two. Many professional woodcarvers use Stockman pocketknives. You'll never see one using a bushcraft knife.

    • @TKDLION
      @TKDLION 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I disagree with your statement. Do you have much experience using a Bushman Axe? I have one and it's actually a pretty good cutter. Comparing the Bushman to the Forester's Fine Axe, the Bushman is thick towards the eye but is quite thin near the edge while the Forester's Fine Axe is fairly thick near the edge. Also, the head of the Bushman is heavier.

Its a better splitter,and overall i like the thicker handle. And i have the 1st generation and never had any problems with a rolled edge or loose head.
