Mousse or TuBliss....Which Is Best?
มุมมอง 2903 หลายเดือนก่อน
I've long wanted to try a Mousse to see how, if at all, it differed from the TuBliss system I've used for the last 18 months. In my opinion for the type of riding I do, I personally didn't feel any noticeable difference. But and it's a big BUT, I now have the added reassurance that I won't ever get a puncture, I just need to change the front over now for total peace of mind. Please feel free to...

Is this random turning off still an issue or has there been a fix ? As i am thinking of buying one for a 4X4
@@DavidPrice-m7n Regrettably from what I am hearing it is still an issue. 👍
Bought a 700i and had the random shutdown issue. Returned it to the shop who replaced it. Continued to have the same issue and the shop said to get in touch with Garmin (Australia), who TBH, weren't a great help. Ended up getting in touch with Garmin US who replaced the unit and mount. Ended up trying 4 units, 2 mounts and software updates over 3 yrs and still had the same issue. In the end I told Garmin I was over it and wanted a full refund, which credit to them, they gave me. From what I've gathered, I'm pretty sure what ever the issue is, it's an embeded design issue. Garmin never told me what the problem was despite repeatedly asking. I see new versions are on sale here in AU, 710, 710i and 760i. I still want one but I might wait a bit (!).
Interesting, I didn’t know Garmin were releasing new units, certainly haven’t heard anything about that over here in the U.K. I’m tempted to contact Garmin U.K. and see if they’ll give me a loan unit to test when the new models become available here in the U.K. In contrast the XT unit I replaced the Montana with worked flawlessly and although I’ve sold the XT recently I’d have no hesitation in getting another one in the future. 👍

Thanks for your video. I've used Gerbing for years and this week I got a new BMW 1250 GS 2024 but I'm concerned of connecting the cable directly to the bmw battery. How did you do it? No drying out issues with the (sensible) electronic of the bike? Cheers
Hi, on all my bikes I have always connected it directly to the bikes battery and never had any issues. If you have access to a trickle charger you could use that for peace of mind but I never had to do that. Congratulations on the new bike. 👍
Funny you talking about tubliss and mouses etc. I’ve just bought a tubliss for the front of my 701 and a Nomousse for the back ( nomousse do a large 2.5 rim especially for trail instead of 2.15 tubliss enduro) Along with another new Michelin track set of tires. I’ve always used heavy grade tubes up to now and never had a puncture. But I wanted to try and remove the worry of difficult tube changes/punctures and especially this winter I wanted to try dropping the pressures down to see what extra grip that gives. Also hoping it’ll give a slightly less harsh feel over smaller rocks with a softer front tire. What have you found the differences between tubliss and tubes (albeit different 350 and 701)?
Ha it’s funny you should mention Nomousse, I emailed them about 18 months ago enquiring about purchasing some Nomousses from them for that very reason, because they produce one for a 2.5” rim and what do you know, they never got back to me so I stuck with the heavy duty tubes on my 701. Do you have a local stockist for them? I never had a puncture as such with the heavy duty tubes but I did once rip the valve stem out of my rear tube mid trail which was problematic. Personally, in regards to differences between tubes and TuBliss, I only saw benefits, if you did get a puncture it’s easy to plug the tyre and fix it as opposed to having to struggle removing and repairing a damaged tube. Downside certainly here in the U.K. TuBliss is not approved for road use, is it in France?
Yeah same here not DOT for road use. But there seems to be plenty of guys using them on road with not problems. I do as little road as possible🤞 I once went out without checking my présures before leaving. I noticed I had a bit more grip and a slightly less harsh ride, less deflection off rocks. Ride just felt better. Got home checked tires the next morning and I had 1.35 bar instead of my normal 1.65 bar (20psi 24 psi) So that made me wonder what would 1 bar (14 psi) be like. Also I like the trackers. But they aren’t great on wet rock, spin a bit. And I think with the slightly puncture reducing pressures I run I’ve noticed they sit up on the center knobs only. And that means they wear down super quickly, until the more outer knobs touch and the wear slows down. But you’ve lost a lot of the benefits of deep new grip by then. So I’m hoping for miracles 😂 Easy puncture repair, smoother feel, more grip and longer lasting grip. I’ll use them this winter, hoping to ride more this winter than last. Even if it’s slippy and wet. Then depending on results next spring I’ll décide what’s next. What tire pressure did u use on the 701?
@@24rare On the 701 I never used to reduce the tyre pressure so I would generally be about 26psi front and rear. However with the 350 I would run the TuBliss at 15psi front and rear which is possibly why I felt more confident and was more successful on the smaller bike? The Mousses are I believe equivalent to about 15psi which again is possibly why I thought the difference between them and the TuBliss was not noticeable.
I was going to try a mousse but I ride green lanes and on the road so I can’t legally
@@LakesMTB1964 TuBliss which I’ve used for the last 18 months isn’t approved for road use either but speaking as a retired roads policing Officer, as long as you’re not using your bike in an anti social manner and you have insurance and a licence etc then I don’t think you’ve anything to worry about 👍

Hey Steve don't be riding on the road with moses, it's illegal, I asked the police at the time some nice person was stabbing my tyres, and they told me this.
its a grey area from what ive been told.
@@cliff1551 Technically TuBliss isn’t sanctioned for road use either but virtually every single offroad rider on a proper enduro bike I’ve come across has been using either TuBliss or a Mousse.
@@simonworthing The key is not to draw attention to yourself while out riding and you’ll be fine. 👍
The terminology in the mot requirements says something along the lines of must be inflated with air, so that’s why no mousse, personally I always run tubes 😅
@@M3RV1SS if your stopped by the police and you have moose in your tyres and using the valve in the rim disguise ,if the policeman presses the valve and no air comes out ,you'll get a hefty fine ,plus mooses won't run long at high speed on tarmac or gravel lanes before disintegrating and throwing the tyre off the rim .

I was trying to follow the route on my chart ... but, couldn't make head-nor-tail of it until Bank Foot Farm. I know it would be extra work for you, but do you think you might identify a few key points on the trail? A map reference or the name of a feature would be a great help.
I’ll try and help if I can. Which end did you start from, did you ride the trail and then drop down the hill passing through the two gates towards the farm or did you start from the farm looking for the two gates to go up the hill and then ride the trail?
@@701Adventures Oh, I haven't ridden the trail. I was just trying to follow your journey on my map.

@@701Adventures Thanks, but it's OK I think. I wasn't sure whether you had ridden straight ahead at Bloworth Crossing, or had veered to the left. But, I think that you must have gone straight ahead. I might have a go at this ride tomorrow. I don't have an off-road machine, but I do have a cheapo 125 that oughta do the job. And, if not, I can always turn back. It would be the first time that I have ever made a significant ride on an un-metalled road. Hoping that it will be reasonably dry by then, with no massive puddles.
