Great video❤ excited for the other parts
Really nice to see content about this ip
Great video!
I love the spirit put here by the loyal people who love the wonderful world of Amalur 💛
Oh yeah, Amalur may be niche, but it’s got some awesome fans that keep it alive :)
Thanks for this great video!! The Lands of Amalur is a very interesting concept. Personally, my favorite areas are the Plains of Erathell and Mithros.
I love this game so much the lore the gameplay the beauty and how broken you can be if you want to be broken
Self-forged equipment really makes you feel like the Fateless One!
Great vedio. dalentarth was really my favorite i loved how there was always a fae to be found to them sitting by trees in the sidhe. What is your favorite area 😁😁😁
I also find the land lore and gameplay way more appealing and better than other games 🎮 😁
Like I said, my favorite area would probably be the Plains of Erathell, but Klurikon and the Teeth of Naros are great honorable mentions!
My second would have to be the dead kel area i also felt like it had a viking vibe plus the addition of the root golem were awesome 😁
Great combat, but rest of the gane was aweful iirc.
To each their own. I loved pretty much EVERY part of it, from the great combat to the story to the immersive world… Just not the loading screens!
v good
I remember the first time running around at night in this and seeing the head of a chimera by lamp light. I was like 'Fffffuuuuu....'
Dang, a new Amalur game would be amazing, but second new dlc would be nice too. One can only dream...
Awesome vedio 😁😁
Thanks. As long as KoA is concerned, anything goes.
AWESOME!!!!
Always love your Amalur videos! Thank you for helping to keep interest in Amalur alive :)
I believe that in kingdoms of amalur that fate does exist but not in the way that fateweavers believe they believe that everyone has a set fate but in realty what is called fateless is really the ability to choose and decide ones own fate in other worlds fate is what each individual decides ir to be
hi, i dont know if you remember me, i have been your viewer since years, lost my old account, in with the new, always a joy to listen to more amalur lore from you, keep it up =]
Glad to have you back, and thanks!
Man I would love another amalur game or even another dlc or something great vedio 😊
There MIGHT just be some news to share on that. Stay tuned ;)
@@lordoflore9761 oh cant wait, make a video on it soon
😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁
got tier
Keep up the good work man! Loving your content so far (not just the Koar ones hehe)
Thanks so much!
Good video! But you said Rothias wrong, it’s Row-Thigh-Us not Row-Thos
Thanks! And as far as the pronunciation goes, different characters pronounce it in different ways. Most characters do pronounce it Roth-aye-iss, but Rothais himself pronounces it Roth-oss. th-cam.com/video/Ku_Ghq621hU/w-d-xo.htmlsi=qS56JmP0ZmywN1va I don’t know if this was an error or a way of showing different accents, I just decided to say it the way the king himself pronounced it
Wheel ❤❤
If I see one more comment about my accent I am going to scream… Southernly
Who was King Ysa?
King Ysa was a legendary Fae king of the Court of Summer, and when Ohn was granted the power of Winter during a passing of the Arcane Veil, it was Ysa who took an Erathi artifact and used it to make peace between the Summer and Winter Courts. Afterwards, both heroes moved beyond the Veil, and the powers of summer and winter would continue to cycle through the seasons. For more info, check out my video on the Withering War: m.th-cam.com/video/tBA8U6g5SkQ/w-d-xo.html
Nicely done
Awesome video like always!
Thanks!
It's literally that one meme
I have been following your channel since the beginning, and was even among the people that encouraged you to make lore videos, in a lore thread where we were all discussing the fact that there were no channels that really touched on KOA, when you volunteered to do this. It's been awesome seeing you compile this lore, and I am happy to see that you have stuck with it, as well as seeing that your channel is growing, even if it is slow growth. I hope that THQ follows through with revisiting the world of Amulur, and I hope that this brings more attention to your channel in the future, it would be really awesome to see. Thank you for doing this, man. Do you think that there is enough content for you to cover The Scholia Arcana? This may be a fun topic, if so. Some topics in The Dead Kel DLC may also be worthwhile
Thanks so much for the encouragement! And yes, Scholia Arcana sounds like a great idea! As for Dead Kel,l though, I don’t think there’s any additional lore that isn’t already explained in the game
All these lore-videos are such a nice way to recap things I might have forgotten, as well as learning new things! And it's awesome to listen to when I'm out for a walk! Can't wait for the next one! :)
That’s really encouraging to hear! Thanks so much, God bless :)
You're making me want to try this game again.
DEW IT You’ll be glad you did :)
the real question is will we ever get a game in the universe that actually has every lore zone and race cause thats what i really want without it being an mmo to
I don’t know about EVERY zone and lore, as the world is SUPER big, but only time will tell. Thanks for watching!
I hope they revive project Copernicus.
Nice, this platform needs more KoA content
Nice to see you going strong with the lore videos! The Alfar are the most interesting set of people just after the Fae, in my book. I hope to know what they have in store for this IP and if they'll keep going with the Project Copernicus angle with the huge jump in physical differences between the Dokkalfar and the Ljosalfar.
No spoilers, but I got some awesome info on Project Copernicus coming soon, and it will definitely include Ljosalfar. Stay soon!
Great vedio 😊 was excited to see a new vedio amalur is my all time favorite gane 😁😁😁
wasnt expecting this
Then I hope it was a pleasant surprise :)
Great video!
They pulling a gojo with the red and blue 😂
This is three months later, but man I really wish there was more involvement of the dragonsplague as a key player throughout the game. Serving as a push-pull narrative between the Arisen and their Main Pawn. In the beginning, the Arisen and Pawn are not well bonded yet and over time, as wills and relationships change (say from treating your Pawn well-not throwing them into the brine, throwing them off cliffs, having them die repeatedly, killing them ect), the Pawn's ability to control the plague also changes. I would think repeatedly abusing/hurting a Pawn would crush their will, therefore losing control to the dragonsplague far more often than not, regardless of how far you are in-game. TBH I wish there were more consequences to purposely being a dickhead to your Pawn, like them not staying too close to you, preferring to keep a distance, dialogue changes to you and guest Pawns ect. If you do well by them, they have a higher chance of control, and it can grant some interesting abilities once earned/learned. To keep things fresh I would say the plague would never be a consistent winner in terms of having the Pawn utilizing the dragonsplague successfully, and they can lose control and end up becoming a temporary enemy(that can be dangerous to anything around them) that the Arisen has to placate/calm through defeating the dragonsplague form and allowing the Pawn to heal slowly over time. Through the storyline, the Pawn learns how to better form and wield willpower as well as learning of emotions that may have been completely alien to them in the beginning of the game. I think aerial dogfight-esque battles between some of the enemies that can fly and the Arisen riding or the player controlling the dragonsplague pawn would have been killer. I'm asking a lot from a game that is pretty lean in terms of direct spoonfed lore and quest meat in-game, and it's all selfish as hell, but I do really enjoy the premise of DD, it just fell short in areas that left a lot of folks wondering and collaborating. The good thing is, there is a super rich pool of 'what if' mechanics, and I'm coping with diving into the community's ideas and explanations.
Still an interesting idea!
You've earned a sub and a like !
Which DLC is your favourite?
As much as I love Fatesworn, my favorite would probably be Teeth of Naros. Building your own home on Gallows End is fun, but man I love the Kollosae, the side quests, and the awesome story of that DLC. So unique!
I love this game, it reminds me a lot of Drakan, but we can't mount a dragon XD.
well done buddy
Interesting stuff!!!
Just started playing so your videos are apreceated
Glad you like them! Watch out for spoilers, but I hope my videos help you to better know and enjoy the wonderful world of Amalur :)
Are the vierga dwarfs in KoA ?
You don’t see any in the game, but most of the structures in the Dead Kel DLC (including Gravehal) were built by them
I think they left some for the dlc, like the lambent flame I hope
I haven't seen a moon at all while playing. idk if it shows up later in the game, but I know there was cut content from the first game, which also originally had no moon prior to dark arisen. The lambent flame also gives off an other worldly light. There is also a connection to were-animals and the moon in irl lore. I think the beastren either were created from the moon or CAME from the moon. This would be prime DLC for us to drop the beastren lore on us and, possibly, give us dragons dogma in space 😂
Ha! That’s a cool theory, especially considering we were actually supposed to go to the moon in early concepts of the first game!
I'm a huge fan of the Beastren in DD2. To be honest, the idea of not being able to play as a Beastren or have my pawn be one in Dragon's Dogma 1 makes it feel hard to return to that game despite how much I still love it. Personally, I like how vibe-based and mysterious their history is, and just the storytelling of this series in general. As much as what the game explicitly tells you, the same amount (if not more) is left a pure mystery or open to interpretation, or is downright contradicted later. As just one example, I'm thinking of how we witness Brokkr's prejudice against elves firsthand, and we learn how it is said that elves and dwarves don't get along. But later, we meet the married Gautstafr and Cliodhna, who very obviously deeply love and care for one another despite the societal ostracism they face because of it (Cliodhna even follows you secretly to make sure you're not a threat to Gautstafr). Then, again contradicting what we've heard so far, we learn that, although Beastrens are discriminated against within Vermund, the kingdom itself was founded by an ancient Beastren ruler--though it seems that this has been long since forgotten (and perhaps intentionally erased--who broke off the heads of those statues, I wonder?). Bearing in mind those ancient ancestral roots in the kingdom, it seems reasonable to me that they would persist there despite the prejudices levied against them. To me, these contradictions make the story all the more deliciously unexpected, and add a surprising amount of believability to the world they've written. Reality is not often exactly as it seems on the surface. All that to say, as a fellow lore appreciator, I am grateful to you for deep diving into the lore of this game. I hope in the future (maybe in the DLC?) the history of the Beastren gets explored a lot more, especially stuff like "What is the Lambent Flame?"
Oh yeah, Beastren are awesome, I just wish there was more concrete stuff for me to talk about. But it’s mystery that makes theories fun, and I also hope any DLC will help us to learn more!
So the Beastren play the part of a discriminated group for the game. This seemed odd to me because they had their own land and empire (it's funny they want to avoid the word empire with an empress because it's a negative connotation in RPGs), so I wasn't sure why they would go to a human society unless something was wrong with their own or opportunity was there for them. Was this explained in-game? If the two sides had even gone to war, you'd think there would be prejudice openly on both sides and seem impractical or weak for the Empress to try and garner acceptance of human in their land. Usually that level of altruism is taken advantage of real fast in the political world and only can work if the intent is, somehow and conditions allow, the poor of human society to turn to the beastren and build numbers. I just don't think that would work if hostility is where it is between the races. So the guards in the human kingdom are there through a class system? Your father was a guard, so you will be a guard? I'm not sure what they are basing it on if in Medieval times guards were subtenants of a knight, paid for their roles. I'm sure they could naturally advance as not always stationed as guards, but couldn't find that exact information. The game could be making it's own societal structure, but an odd one if the case. I find it convenient that the entire history of the beastren is just forgotten even by them because that would require re-education of them in order to forget it or near genocide to lower their numbers to such an extent. Things like architecture, craft and arts done they the beastren would repeat in their own kingdom, making them identical and the connection obvious. The humans would have to rework Vermund from the ground up to hide any trace. If the prejudice was that deep on the human side, I wouldn't think they'd let any in their kingdom. I'm also not sure how the beastren would outbreed the humans if the humans had the numbers to oust them in the first place, unless a pre-emptive strategy simply to see humans take control of land and resources. If the beastren had control of Vermund, how did the humans gain the means to overthrow them? I'm kinda seeing why the story isn't exactly favored if the plot had this at it's center, yet really didn't flesh it out beyond human bad/beastren oppressed. There is also the factor of language. If they all speak the same language, they couldn't tell who was beastren and human historically, but that would tie them together even closer because they'd share common origin. It does seem like a eugenics level handling of beastren was implemented in society, but did that always exist between both races to not interbreed? Usually if you can produce offspring with another group, you are the same people and less of a barrier unless prejudice existed on both sides. Rothar being with a human woman had to be normal or if taboo, it wasn't done by either group for some reason. A society existed before Rothar and humans had to be there too. Whatever was would have left some trace or Rothar and the people that formed Vermund abandoned it, it's culture and history. If not, there should be some trace of it close by if not on the same continent. If the elves have no clue about where they came from and doesn't suggest they came to that continent, they essentially poofed into existence and suddenly came among humans without resistance. That just doesn't make sense. I like thinking deeply about these things, but I know some people get annoyed thinking someone is poking holes in what they like, but it does expose lazy writing and bad worldbuilding that will lead to problems later. Narrative isn't Capcom's strength so I'm not surprised, yet you'd think they'd take some care with the DD universe. If the flame worshipped doesn't even have a background, I've no idea what to say about it lol!
On your question concerning why Beastren would want to move to Vermund, a lot of Beastren were actually born and raised there. So while some stay there to enjoy the safety of Vernworth’s walls despite the prejudice, some have to chosen to risk Battahl’s dangerous wilds for the better treatment of Bakbattahl (there’s actually a guard at the volcano camp who talks about this experience extensively). But I definitely agree with you on some of the confusing stuff. With the foundations of Rothais’ rule and human x Beastren rates, there was definitely a lot of cool lore there and potential, I just think the game itself didn’t give us enough ways to explore it.
@@lordoflore9761 I can see a generation or two being there, yet Beastren seem to be hardy and tough. Naturally one would think they'd adapt to the challenges of Battahl and as much is said of their resilience. Unless Bakbattahl is suffering from monster attacks, they'd rather live in poverty and ill treatment? If the game dared be darker, they'd be attacked for being Beastren. It would make sense if as I said, Batbattahl wasn't safe or short on resources, but that doesn't seem to be the case. It's very bizarre choice that I feel was mainly done for the twist or mystery of the Beastren to work. I'm not sure why that was picked over the greater mystery of even how the world itself came to be with the cycle and alternate planes. People waited so long to learn more, Japan given more with the Online game and more expectations, yet they more so rebooted the story. Makes sense with lore, but they gave more unanswered questioned that likely won't be relevant if they make another game as it will be in a new world. I can see this setup working in an older game and simpler execution, like the older Breath of Fire games.
Shame the Beastrens weren't developed more in DD2. I feel like the Elves has more of a culture in the game and they play in such a smaller part.
Agreed. While the elves may not have as much historical lore as Beastren (what are the elves’ history, why don’t they like dwarves, etc.), we definitely get to see more about their way of life.
any plans on the monsters of dd2 including the brine dragons and why some looks a bit different from the first game
Might be worth looking into!
