Youre not "lubricating the engine " the fuckers cold start at what 2-3k rpm?? The engine is plenty lubricated in about 10 seconds

With my tdi, I give it 2 minutes for lubrication and gentle throttle input until it reaches operating temp.

For egr systems the quicker you get heat in there the better. Then again if you heat it to quickly the pistons may heat faster than the cylinder wall and create scoring. In other words start it let it idle for a minute then get going. But don’t drive like a teenager.

I had a Snap-On dealer refuse to warranty a broken pin on a 1/2" breaker bar because it was purchased used from a previous Snap-On dealer, stating that Snap-On's warranty only applies to the original purchaser.
