Years ago my Snap-on guy tried to recruit me to become a Snap-on rep. Rode with him for two full days as part of my decision process. Watching this reminded me of how much work it is to be a Snap-on rep. I elected to not become a rep. I think I could have made the sales but one has to be really organized and willing to work hard six days a week to make the business successful. Most techs have no idea of what it takes to bring the best tools on the market to the shop and finance the techs' purchases. My guy would have been wealthy if he could have collected all that was owed him but, unfortunately, not everyone pays their bills or pays them on time. Still a Snap-on fan all these years later. Best tools on the market.
You two are a great team/couple and we can see you work hard every day. It isn't easy running a business especially in this economy and a nod is well deserved. On TTC; the narrator designs for Astro Pneumatic so yes, he and his team don't play favorites when it comes to testing tools--they're especially known for the impact wrench tests whether cordless, air, or corded. Keep up the good work and wishing you many years of health and prosperity.
3:35 I can respect that Ryan acknowledges that icon didn’t do bad. The way others are making it seem. I have so much snap on equipment but I also try other tools and in my personal opinion, let the guys starting out buy cheap and establish themselves. In time, they’ll experience and learn what’s better for them.
With those high cost painted boxes, go to harbor freight and get some moving blankets. Cover them up so they don't get scratched by rubbing on something.
Matco dealer here, as far as the red box, I love red with black trim myself but Red boxes are a hard sell. Had a few red ones that sat forever also. I wont order red unless someone asks for it. my best guess is all the cool new colors like gray, blue, green and purple catch everyones attention more. Purple and Blue Trim are always a winner.
Honestly, people will generally lean towards different if given the choice. Red/Chrome and Red/Black are old and outdated now. Boxes have come in those colors for decades. People want a box more in line with their personality, favorite colors, football teams, baseball teams, basketball teams, etc. They don't want old and boring.
I worked in aviation and unlike automotives where your box usally doesnt move very far we had to roll ours all over a very large hanger. The big box store toolboxes invariably developed cracks and broken wheels thats why snap on and matco where predominate as well as seeing your dealer every week for tools or waranty. Yea they are expensive but when you make a living with them you learn pretty quick why there still arround.
Thats right i agree with you buy what want to .i like snap on tools ,matco, cornwell,Mac ,harbor f.,icon ,walmart that i cut up cheap ones, thanks showing different tools snap on has to offer.
Love my kcp 1423 in candy apple with bed liner top. 37k CU is great amount of storage and in a bus depot with mobile hosts rolling around I prefer the 24 deep with the extra few inches clearance. Upgrading from a husky that was 18 the 24 on the kcp seems perfect.
If someone is giving me a set id take snap on every time. That said, can we believe snap on is making tests to prove they’re better than hft. Unreal times. The last four years in this world have been crazy but this is the craziest
When it comes to tool boxes my thoughts have turned 180 degrees over the past 10 years. I would have bought all top brand tools and put them into a super cheap tool box, but that is kind of backwards thinking. While i could not really justify a brand new Snap on box, I bought a used one. At home I bought a US General box in in my opinion it flat out sucks. My thoughts were that it won't see near the use as work so should be fine. For the money I got for my old MAC box I was stupid to sell it and buy the US General box.
I wish snap on would hide a battery in their toolboxes. Basically, when you need to roll your power drawers around, you could just unplug it and battery kicks in. Just enough to be able to charge. I don’t know 3-4 batteries at once. Keep a couple of the USB plug-ins hot.
I love how all the snap on dealers just throw these boxes around like they are worth nothing!!! and they expect people to spend $$$$$$ on them haha. I ordered a new krl masters roll cab with hutch and it was delivered recently and I said I would refuse it unless it was in the box because for the money I payed for it I didn't want it all marked and pushed and kicked around
The snap on wrench might have been at the top but at 80% more cost. However that was only a test of the open end. Who uses the open end to break a bolt lose. I've never met a bolt that I had to use an open end on that was so tight that I had to worry about which wrench I was using. If they're that tight they're getting cut off or turned into liquid metal. I don't think anybody is denying snap-on is within the top three going back and forth of the best tools on the market. They're just comes a point in time where you spend so much money and what you're getting is so much smaller as the price increases. It's called value snap-on just doesn't have it anymore. This coming from a guy that's got a $100k worth of snap-on, mac, and matco in his box right now.
Couldn't have said it better, way cheaper and just as good ICON tools. I have 1970's Craftsman sockets and combo wrenches still using them and not a broken one yet. Still cant believe people spend that much on Snap-On.
9:04 - I saw that cart going towards the lift and noticed the gate wasn’t all the way down.. got nervous the wheels were just going to stop in their place 😭😭😭 Those damn gates are a hazard through and through but unavoidable 😂
Let's be honest... Snap-On came out on top because Wright wasn't in the test. Look at their other tests and their chart. Wright Grip 2.0 is the best wrench, for 1/3 the price at that. Snap-On is the second best wrench.
@@napiertravis Up until recently, Wright, as they were family owned for 90 years. 2017 they were acquired by Federal Resources Supply Company (an American company), but retained the same workers forging quality American made tools.
Wrights 3/4 drive hex driver sockets are very nice. Snap On doesnt not make them in 3/4 drive, I tried Sunex and they broke on first bolt. Compairimg them side by side other brands, you can see the quality.
I saw that video and me as a Snap on with tool box and full Snap on tool's i was really happy to see that video and my hopes are icon user SHUT UP BIG Babby's Snap on knows what hey is going on!
After I first build my shop, The Snap on Guy, the Mac, Guy and the Matco Guy stopped at my Shop, When they saw My Sears Tool Chest and My Sears Master Mechanics Set they didn't come back. I used to get Speiclaty Tools from a Matco Guy Seems it was always an emergency when I needed some specialty Tool or odd tool. If I went to his house I got 10% off. Now there is a Gal who lives a half a mile from me and has Cornwell Tools. I bought one set of Torx bits from her for $139.00 3 years ago. The quality is good, but I could have got the same for Tekton today for $95.00 They offer Free shipping and I get like 5% credit on my next purchase. So usually I have $10.00 credit to take off on the next purchase. I have a nice set of long handle 5 point open box Matco wrenches. I was at a Junk yard for heavy trucks and a worker stole my 3/4" wrench. I really like the 3 point open end on the Matco wrenches. There are bolts and lock nuts on the Mechanics style U-Joints on my 6 wheel drive truck. They are a tight fit and take a lot of torque to remove them. I always use Anti Seize so the next time is much easier. Anyway I replaced the stolen wrench with a Snap on. The beam is thicker that is nice , but it is a 12 point and it has all of the extra teeth on the open end. Since I have put anti-seize on everything I own, I have not really had to challenge the Snap-on wrench. One Snap On wrench costs almost as much as a whole set of Craftsman wrenches. I actually bought another set of Craftsman Open Box wrenches to take in a hand tool box out on jobs. Both the Corwell and the Tekton torx bits come in a blow molded box. That's the one thing that's really missing from buying a tool set so long ago. No blow molded boxes and not very good tool organization systems.
Hi Val. Why don't you stick a bit of Magnetic tape to the back of your tail lift controller? Then it would hold to the steel rails of the lift & you won't have to keep putting it on the ground.
I have been Snap On and Craftsman all my life. I wouldn't buy Icon if was paid. Sure its cheaper. But, how many times do you want to got HF and replace that tool you bought that was cheaper? Then get there and have someone that wants to give you guff over it? I have Snap On and Craftsman tools that belonged o my grandpa and my dad as old as the 30's and tools I have bought in the last 10 years that I have never broke. So LONG LIVE SNAP ON!!!!
Quick question how can I get items from the flyers if you don’t have a sales truck I work out of my house and do my snap on online from snap on I have a KRL 72 inch top and bottom I bought in the 90s .I am also looking for a tool storage system owner s manual.the welcome to the community book/manual

The fact that snap-on felt the need to sabotage the anti-slip profile on the icon wrench at the show tells me everything I need to know. You can clearly see in several of the tool show demo videos that the icon is almost completely smooth whereas the snap-on, at the same exact distance from the camera, with the same exact video resolution, had its teeth visible clear as day. Why should I have confidence in their products when they’re obviously not confident they can perform without an unfair advantage. Snap-on official was so loud about their wrenches, but are silent as a mouse when it comes to the smooth wrench accusations. Cowards.
Val-nice to see your hubby! I love your videos and how you call out the part numbers on the tools you show! Freaking awesome!!! ❤

That black box with purple trim looks awesome.

Excited to see this
thank you for watching! I appreciate you Brian!

rad man, also a snap on dealer… its cool knowing me and my wife also bust our asses constantly working on the truck!

Yes Val, i work with my Snap-on tool dealer on weekends and its not easy 🔧🔧🔧🔧🔧
Lowes has craftsmen.... Im staying out of debt, so went with Craftsman and Icon
Good to see you carry green colors in stock. My dealer won’t get anything but red. 😢 always have to special order tools.
Snap on tops , button up bottoms !!!!
VAL uses those strong leg muscles to maneuver those heavy boxes with ease 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🤩🤩🤩🤩

Craftsman is part of Stanley Black and Decker along with Mac and Proto. Lowe's sells Craftsman.
First time I saw this. Not bad for a GILF.
I think the torque test had several different parameters and the fact that Ikon was considerably less was the point
Great video 👍
love classic red 😀
4:59 that’s a sick color combo.
I’ll take your old stuff😆…Aloha Val🤙🏽
I need that black and yellow box. I’m a Steelers fan and it is perfect.

They (Snap On) need to learn to put 4 swivel casters on the masters series 72".

Dang better take those racer blue hammers straight to Brian 😂
Been there done that. I just added a 60” epic on my truck

I wish the flank drive plus were only 80% more than the icon anti slip grip. It’s more like 400% more my guy.
Chicago bred fine as hell
I see that strapping down tool box should put something on the ends so you get no scratches FYI corner pieces from the boxes it came in
Cool homie
Snap-on came out on top over icon, barely. Both exceed the ASME spec. In my opinion, snap-on still can’t justify their crazy high prices.
Couldn't have said it better, way cheaper and just as good ICON tools. I have 1970's Craftsman sockets and combo wrenches still using them and not a broken one yet. Still cant believe people spend that much on Snap-On.
Holy crap you guys got a lot of work to do just to set up for the day's work
thats a lot of money rollin around there! Pretty colors but I will take red.
I bought snap on flank drive plus hands down best wrenchs

If this is the typical Snap On dude NOBODY is watching him unload his truck OR stopping the video on that squat..... yowza!
As someone who has icon and snap on i would hope a tool 3 or 4 times the price would be better
Craftsman tools are sold at Lowes,Napa parts stores, Ace hardware stores, and if there are any Sears and K marts left!!!!
That’s a thick ass box

i have the same box same color way love the purple
Nice box! And I love when you wear yoga pants 😍
I don't know how Val's husband gets anything done working in the back of that truck with her in such close quarters 🥵
Well he’s probably not a loser like you that’s how he pulled her in the first place lololol
They have an open relationship. She been said that in other videos
😂😅@@dr6091

I got a 1/4 inch SO ratchet I need to warranty out but don't know where to go
Please do a new tool box with The white tool box and candy apple red trim. They are so cool looking compared to all the other colors. Please🤞🤞
Craftsman range they tested was made by Facom high end French tool manufacturer on par with Snap on without the dealers.
Gyatt getting bigger and bigger 🤤🤤
I saw that video and me as a Snap on with tool box and full Snap on tool's i was really happy to see that video and my hopes are icon user SHUT UP BIG Babby's Snap on knows what hey is going on!
That is like my grandsons roll cart except it has the bedliner slide top but same color combination combination
Great content from both of yall. Nice change of pace. Question, do yall have any kids?
