Project Freedom Ride

Project Freedom Ride is a 100% volunteer based 501(c)(3) that was established in December 2016 with a mission to connect unwanted, abandoned dogs who may otherwise be bound for euthanasia in Texas with Families and Receiving Rescue partners in the Pacific Northwest and Northeast. Project Freedom Ride was started by a 4 year old boy, Roman McConn, after he learned about the pet overpopulation problem in Texas and that not all dogs in shelters get out alive. He immediately sprung into action believing that “every dog deserves more than a life locked in a kennel”. Through Roman’s program (PFR) and the partnering efforts of a handful of rescues as well as the amazing adopters and supporters, he has been able to aid in the saving of over 2,700 dogs as of April 2020.
ADOPT FOREST
Hi. My name is Forest and here is a bit about me …
* I am about 3 Months old (as of 5/13)
* I weigh about 14lbs (as of 5/13)
* I was found wandering the streets at just 7 weeks old and was extremely malnourished
* Per my Embark DNA Test I am - 27.1% German Shorthaired Pinter, 24.8% Pomeranian, 14.4% Belgian Malinois, 12.1% American Pitbull Terrier, 10.8% American Staffordshire Terrier, 5.9% Dutch Shepherd, 4.9% German Shepherd. My foster parents see the Malinois / German Shepherd / Pomeranian!! I look and act like a miniature shepherd.
* I am dog friendly. Although I can have a rough & rowdy play style I do tend to respond to the play style of the dogs around me and can be very respectful.
* I play hard and sleep hard
* I don’t fuss through the night, but once you wake up I will let you know I need to potty. That’s when the Pomeranian part makes sense.
* I am FULLY crate trained
* I am pretty efficient with “sit” and am working on down
* I do not have all my vaccines yet, but as soon as I do I can start leash walks.
* I am not fostered with cats
All in all, I am just waiting for the right humans to choose me and add me to their lives!

* Forest is currently fostered in GA but is available for adoption throughout the country due to our transport program
** Since Forest is not fostered with cats we would not place him in a home with cats, this is for EVERYONE’s safety.
Forest adoption fee is $500 which includes his neuter, current vaccinations (rabies, min 2 parvo/distemper boosters, and Bordetella), negative heartworm test (if applicable), negative fecal, health certificate, registered microchip, and transport costs. As a Project Freedom Ride direct adoption, the adoption interview/meet and greet would take place on a video call (FB Messenger Call, Facetime, Zoom, Etc).
The adoption application and fee would be finalized & paid in full prior to receiving your dog. Drop off locations through our transport program are as follows:
* Northwest Route - Moab, UT - Salt Lake City, UT - Meridian, ID - Richland or Kennewick, WA - Seattle, WA - Mt. Vernon, WA

NO DOG should be in a crate for "6-8 hours"- that's disgusting animal cruelty. Locked crates, in general, are unbelievably cruel and inhumane for dogs. (Don't make your dog sit in a locked tiny box prison for hours at a time, unless you yourself have experienced the same thing.) I live on the opposite coast~ I hope with all my heart that you find the most loving and caring home for this sweet baby~* He deserves kindness and respect and care.
