Central Park Media's Patlabor dubs are weirdly charming imo, despite not being not so great on the performance front.

One very easily missed little detail from the new files, specifically the bathhouse episode, when the guys all run out into the street nakes, Noa is there looking through her fingers and her pupils have a heart shaped eye shine... she likes what she sees. .... also in the live action show, it's revealed that she and Asuma are now running SHI.

I think you missed their conversation inside the VW campervan in P2, which by that point I consider them in a serious relationship, and how Asuma taking Noa to his brothers grave in the OVA is a clear indication too... the whole franchise (specially OVA and movies) handled their relationship very in a very mature manner God I love yuki no rondo

For me the hardest part to "collapse" is the absence of Kumagami, since she talked about wanting to be the head of her team. Patlabor 2 being about the early days OVA kinda throws a wrench in things, but it's whatever! The TV series is cool, and fitting the movies into that general timeline is for sure the right call.

Patlabor 2 is artistically and politically one of my favorite films; another commenter here said they were saddened by the lack of fan service, but I disagree with their assessment. The movie was supposed to be written as if it would be one of the last for headgear to work on, so it makes sense it'd be a bit of a downer. For me, what I really disliked was the Next Generation's explanation of what happened after the fact; Ota being arrested, Goto being in hiding and Nagumo going off to work for the UN, Shige's harsh assessment of his former friends and crew and the economic recession being the reason why there is only one labor and a downsizing of the whole division. These plot developments are quite silly, and I can understand why the community doesn't refer to the "The Next Generation" as canon. It feels super disrespectful to the established canon! I feel like if we knew what happened to the characters after the film(and it wasn't super sad or lame); it wouldn't be such a divisive topic in the community. The first movie can easily fit into the on television timeline if you force it; the absence of kumagami makes it kind of hard to do the same with Patlabor 2, but it would nonetheless be appreciated much more! Cool movie and commentary; there is no way anyone could disagree with that. But, if I were to tell someone to get into patlabor for the world surrounding it, I'd recommend the TV series, original OVA, and the first movie before Patlabor 2!! I still try to fit patlabor 2 into my own silly headcannon though despite all this🤪

Man, this was amazing such a amazing video and more Patlabor means so much more cooler video Though I do have some questions if you don’t mind if I ask 1# what were the OST that you use you sound very amazing I like it. 2# this question is mostly like a fight between two units mostly The Type-J9 Griffon vs the AV-X0 prototype which of these units would win in a fight is something that I had in my mind for sometime since they’re my two most favorite units in this anime. 3# aren’t the police Patlabor units also part of the military or a separate thing to the point where you can’t even call them military units. 4# didn’t the Type-J9 not had a third backpack one more for high speed though now that I do think about it that could just be the backpack with the wings that were just attached now just being one for high-speed I guess never mind forget about this question.

Also you may have noticed the little character showing up in this video, for the record that's not a sona of me or anything. It's a little character I doodled at some point in MSPaint called ProtoMekkaFan98. I liked her a lot so I decided to use her as a kind of "mascot" for the channel, she's also pretty great for those more "empty" parts of the video
