      I didn't on this one, but you can put the motor on top dead center where both valves are closed and set cold lash per specs. Usually a feeler gauge between the rocker and valve tip set to specs will do.

    What all tools are needed? The fuel ac line disconnect kit, is that a tool? Do you need support for the tank if you’re doing it on the ground? I seen another video where the guy taped the hoses then blew it off. Should I tape or no?

      No special tools other than disconnect set. Use PB blaster penetrating spray on the strap bolts, and the filler neck where the rubber connects to the metal pipe. It softens the rubber and makes it easier to pull apart once you loosen the hose clamp. If you are working from the ground get the van up on stans then use the floor jack with a board to support the tank and lower it down. Be careful if there is a lot of fuel in it, if you tilt it all the gas will run to one side making it hard to hold. Have a friend help! Good luck!

    Delphi fuel pump is a POS, at least for me. Cost me $194 w/tax at NAPA. Replaced fuel filter because it was leaking. Installed myself, unbelievablePITA, but got it done. Worked OK for about 300 miles then failed. Called the mechanic who said he'd get the tow and do the replacement. Sat in his parking lot for 5 days before "getting to it." Tow $125 for 4 miles; labor $324; fuel pump $285.39; miscellaneous supplies and disposal $30. Total $797. Thank you, Delphi.

Its a series 101 has a standing pilot but the pilot valve is not manual its automatic or controlled by the TSTAT. The valve itself just has an "on" and "off" position and yet it is a combination valve.

    • @northsidevideo1938
      @northsidevideo1938 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm sure the quality of the gasket makes a difference. Also the spacing and size of the bolts. Maybe using studs instead of bolts? That usually helps on v8 engines with high cylinder pressures. I'm sure a copper gasket alone would last longer.

      @@northsidevideo1938 I’m thinking the cylinder pressure is to high for the lack of gasket in between the galley and cylinder or to high of temp blowing the gasket I think this is the main reason the inteks ain’t a good motor is they blow the gasket then get to hot from burning oil and then break the rods from trying to compress to much oil

    • @northsidevideo1938
      @northsidevideo1938 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I agree that thin area of block to the oil galley is the design flaw. I think in general the 1cyl engines approaching or around 20 hp are designed cheaply to be in a lower price range.

    • @northsidevideo1938
      @northsidevideo1938 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, it will still work, but it will consume oil very quickly until it fouls the spark plug out. If left too long it can damage the head/block as hot exhaust gasses are being forced between the gasket and the mating surfaces.

    120$? Damn.. i spent 23$ on mine.. its a 27" like that one except no laser and the stop is flimsy and useless because its not true.. the main fixed back stop is also not aligned which unless you glue a 1/16 inch tile spacer on the thing itll give you crooked ass cuts.. ended up taking it apart and putting it in the mill and leveled everything, cut out the rail rings and put in rollerbearings.. raised the v in the middle and replaced the blade.. took about 2 hours but worth it now.. especially because i hate tile and when im done with this bathroom i am never hopefully going to touch it again..

In my experience it doesn't really benefit to clear the dust off unless it was saturated with brake fluid, oil or for a wheel cylinder change.
