In this detailed tutorial, Al Waterloo guides you through the essential steps of performing a thorough fresh water engine rinse on your SF-50 Vision Jet. Proper engine maintenance is crucial, and this routine ensures your jet's longevity and optimal performance.
🛠️ Step-by-Step Guide:
Step 1: Water Introduction
Begin by spraying water into the engine without engaging in any dry motoring.
Ensure a controlled and even application of water to cover all necessary engine components.
Step 2: Dry Motoring with Water
Spray water into the engine while engaging in dry motoring for 30 seconds.
Dry motoring helps distribute the water throughout the engine, aiding in the rinsing process.
Step 3: Repeat Dry Motoring with Water
Continue the process by spraying water into the engine during another dry motoring cycle lasting 30 seconds.
This step further enhances the thorough cleansing of engine internals.
Step 4: Engine Run and Drying
Run the engine for a minimum of 5 minutes to allow any residual water or moisture to evaporate.
This crucial step ensures a completely dry engine, preventing potential issues.
Important Considerations:
Adhere strictly to any starter limitations during both dry motoring and cool down time between cycles.
Respect recommended intervals to avoid any adverse effects on the engine's components.
🔍 Pro Tips:
Check your aircraft's manual for specific guidelines and precautions regarding engine rinsing.
Perform the fresh water engine rinse regularly to maintain the health and efficiency of your SF-50 Vision Jet.
✈️ Safety First:
Always prioritize safety and follow the manufacturer's recommendations to guarantee a seamless and secure fresh water engine rinse for your SF-50 Vision Jet.

Four blade prop conversions justify/earn their added cost by doing two things: higher climb rate, lower decibals in cruise (allowing occupants to arrive without fatigue). If the conversion does not check both boxes off, it's not worth it.

As embarrassing as this may seem after flying for 30 years, this is the best explanation of the fundamentals of the G1000 for me, especially since I lack the experience of a TAA! I would love to find Al’s video on VPTH but cannot seem to find it that he referred to in this video. This is my constant go-to video for a refresher!

I'm not a pilot and I'm pretty new to watching aviation videos these past couple of months in particular the Vision Jet but this has been my favourite video so far because you guys really zoomed in too the displays, talked through everything and it's really helped understand what you guys are looking at so a very well done, I've not seen any other pilots take as much time to do that for the viewers. Thanks guys. Respect all the way from Scotland 👍🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

What an ugly plane. The flying egg. Should have ducted the engine like a Diamond or Stratus jet. They both look like jets. Epic jet looked good too. Cirrus jet looks stupid.

So, super helpful. But some of the words you’re using left me confused. Like “it’s going to try to turn me onto XX heading” or “flight director is commanding a descending turn” or “this is going to roll me to heading XX”. I think what you mean is the FD is painting a chevron that you can follow (hand fly) to get to where you want the plane to go. The FD isn’t doing anything to control the plane, right? Just showing a chevron basically that you follow.

Been there many times and it's amazing. The only tip I would have is that if you even think you need to go around do it. This isn't the place to wait until you are running out of runway to go around. There are power lines, trees, and rising terrain to the SW that could be an issue if you wait too long, hence the reason you land runway 24 and takeoff on 06. As mentioned in the video, it will feel very tight coming through the trees the first time or two you land there, but in reality there is plenty of room.

Great video. Nice setup. We have a Cessna Caravan that we are looking at setting up an auxiliary TKS tank in the cargo pod so we can refill our 21 gallon TKS tank during long flights without relying on an FBO. I'm thinking of adding another 20 gallon tank to the Pod that is secure and that's easily removable when empty. We plan on using a Milwaukee cordless transfer pump used to transfer TKS to the main tank. I was thinking of venting the tank with a rollover vent valve so fluid won't splash out during steep bank/pitch the Milwaukee pump will have a 4 way valve tied into the tank suction, pump discharge nozzle with the capability to actuate the 4 way valve so the pump can suck out of a supply drum (with a special attachment to the nozzle) to refill the tank. That's the theory anyway. Haven't built it yet but welcome any comments. Thanks again for this video. TH-cam videos like this make the world go around.

Firstly, it touched my heart to see your old man flying with you, and listening to your mom's honk as well. Thanks on that. I really like your videos and look forward to meeting you anytime soon. One only complaint: since I am learning with each Cirrus Vision video first, it is extremely hard to focus on any particular area of the Garmin 3000 because the camera is too nervous and does not stay still so I can peep on the settings along with your explanations. The rest is great. Congrats and hello to you and your dad from Miami, FL and through the Internet universe of TH-cam...

Al, this technique saved my bacon on a recent long cross country where the ramp was very hot when we stopped for fuel. The "aha!" moment for me with this technique is waiting for the fuel flow indication. On a quick turn today where we stopped at KCDC in Utah and the oil temp was 185 degrees when we got back in the plane, I had to wait a good 15 seconds after turning on the boost pump before the vapor lock purged and fuel started flowing.

Tailwheel pilots, who are walking the rudder quickly and tightly, bracketing the centerline (big middle between trees in this case), see it more comfortably because they are always ahead of the airplane for longitudinal alignment. Try this trick to feel, actually to be, much more in control. It is like riding a bike or balancing a broom on our hand. Quick, tight, and continuous dynamic proactive rudder movement makes the outcome never in doubt. Watch a crop duster video with a camera pointed at the rudder. He is constantly walking the rudder pedals (the rudder is moving constantly) to exactly drive down a particular crop row (keep the light bar centered when there is no row). Practice on short final to your airport by exactly bracketing the centerline extended and then the centerline when on the surface. With a nose geared airplane, we are just taking the slack out of the cables or push pull tubs to the nose wheel when on the surface. Do not use the steering wheel (aileron) except to set wing for crosswind. Walking the rudder, absolutely not allowing any turn, automatically keeps the wing level (or set in side slip.)
