Hey! Thanks for the video. And advice. Just to confirm, does this mean that you cant have someone do the 1st run, and then a 2nd do the first station? Basically avoiding doing run into station for 1 person?
Bro, how about leveling the audio if the video and the intro. No need to blow out my ears, and then forcing me to raise the volume to the max

Cheers Rob, just done my first Hyrox and your videos were very useful during my training and on the day. Now thinking about asking some friends to do a relay next year. Any idea how the sleds work in mixed? Are there just enough of them loaded with male and female weights in alternate lanes, I assume athletes don't have to add/remove plates themselves?
Thanks I’m glad. Yeah go for it! You don’t change them yourself you are directed to a sled by a judge, so yes I think there are enough preset.

Is Apple Watch Ultra 2 Is good for HYROX training? What watch do You use ? Some special apps ?
I haven’t had much experience with Apple Watches for hyrox but there is an app called RoxFit which you might find helpful
Have to disagree on sandbach! I think he’s proved he can do it to himself at worlds, and he’s finally a full time pro athlete. Agee he has the most raw potential!

I also raced Birmingham and felt like the Roxzone size alone was enough to throw running/transition splits out of the window - That 1:15 behind your PB really doesn't look far away for next race

do you lap roxzones? and how do u check ur running pace?
Yes, I lap the roxzones. I check my running pace by timing the running laps, it’s not a perfect solution as they aren’t always exactly 1km. But the running paces on watches are also inaccurate inside.

do you know whats you average HR for the hyrox?
It fluctuates between 80-90% and averages about 86% for a solo race. Doubles race fluctuates more and averages a bit lower.

Finally Hyrox is coming to India on May 3rd 2025. As a recreational athlete myself I have 6 months to train. Its going to be my first ever HYROX. What is the timing i should be looking to finish in an open category
That’s awesome, so glad you get to be a part of it. The average time is 90minutes but I couldn’t really give you a personal goal
Thank you for all your informative videos. Please could you clarify the protocol around the fast and regular running lane on race day. I have done one mixed doubles race and have another one coming up. It very busy on the running track and quite difficult to stay together in our pair. What pace is the ‘fast’ lane? What is sensible etiquette around the lanes? Thank you!

Yeah sure I made a video on this called “Hyrox Sled Alternatives” you can do sled drags, cable squat rows and rack pull deadlifts

No females hit the low target men hit the high in doubles. And it actually not supposed to count if females hit the top target

Haven't done a hyrox so far, but was doing several multisports events 16-24 years ago (then I quit) and always had the best results with loading carbs in the affernoon on the day before the race. If I didn't want to have an empty stomach, I ate a few fatty nuts or a tablespoon of coconut oil in the morning before the competition. During the competition, depending on the length, only water, or sugar-free electrolytes. Prior to doing that I always had "crashes" when I consumed these sugary sports drinks or these ugly gels. Thanks for your videos. Might get me motivated to do something again.

What strength or hyrox workouts , if any that you suggest in the week of your race ?
The week of your race you don’t NEED to do any strength training, you CAN do a few sets of a squat or deadlift if it makes you feel good. Hyrox workouts that are good are some 1km repeats with 60s rest at your intended race pace. And using the sleds, rowers and skiers because they don’t create as much muscle damage as lunges and wall balls
Hello Woodsy. I'm hoping to do my first Hyrox next year ... just starting to train for it. Loving your content. Just curious to how fast someone at your level and physical build can run without doing the exercises between? For example a straight 5k, 8k, 10k race? Of course it makes no difference as this isn't what is being tested but I'm curious none the less. Cheers.
Thank you, that’s awesome. I don’t measure it too frequently but me personally 5km around 19mins, 10km around 42 minutes. But there’s plenty of examples of people my size and build that run faster with slower Hyrox times and vice versa. I done a video on “how to work out your pace for HYROX” that might be helpful.
