I meant Washington would've won at least four Super Bowls during the 1980s!

Just think if the Washington Redskins had Kelvin Bryant from 1983-1990. Washington would've won three at least three or four Super Bowls. The San Fransisco 49ers wouldn't have been the NFL team of the 1980s. It would've been the Washington Redskins!

Nice to see a football game that was 3 hrs including commercials to cut it down to little over 90 + minutes of 🏈 only.

I think the USFL would have made it if they would have kept what they had instead of listening to the Orange Menace. Once again that piece of crap touches something and once again it goes up in smoke.

I love seeing the former Nitanny Lions from when we were all students at Penn State. It's a blast from the past. especially Fusina and Fitzkee. We met them at a bar one night.

@1:08 Anthony Carter would go on to shred the 49ers in the playoffs for 227 receiving yards for an upset vs favored SF (then Super Bowl perennial contenders). Definitely a big play WR at that time for Minn until the phenomenon known as RANDY MOSS.

WHERE IS SAM MILLS?!? Sam was the TRUE star of the USFL, because unlike Reggie and Kelly and Herschel and Steve Young, who were drafted by the NFL but signed outrageous USFL contracts (which helped SINK the USFL), Sam Mills' cred developed in the red-&-gold of the Philadelphia Stars after the NFL (and the CFL) told him he was too small ... Sam Mills -- the heart-&-soul of "The Dome Patrol", identified by teammate (and HoFer) Rickey Jackson as the best with whom he EVER played ... Sam Mills -- the oldest elected Pro Bowl starter at middle/inside linebacker ... I call BS on Canton -- they refuse to enshrine Sam because his induction would PROVE how the NFL knows NOTHING about true football talent ... and now THIS clip ignores Sam as well ... DISGUSTING ...

Back in the day I'd watching the USFL it was more fun in the early 80s plus the USFL legends like Steve Young Jim kelly The great Reggie White Doug Flutie & Doug Williams don't forget the old ball coach Steve Spurrier plus the great Burt Reynolds was the Tampa Bay Bandits General manager with the great Jon Bassett

I loved the Wranglers' uniforms and name. Both teams had outstanding togs. Stars had that Big-Back offense, and were a talented bunch. Look at how trim George Allen is. He never looked better. I remember this one. I watched most of them on ABC, though this appears to be an ESPN broadcast. And, ABC was considered the 3rd network - but not to me. They had a superlative group of sports people and their Sports Department was second to none. ABC also had those great Quinn Martin detective series during this era - Cannon, etc...

At 1:20:12 they go for it on 4th down Sam Mills shuts the door, how great was this guy? Well the nfl found out. He earned 5 Pro bowls .He was 27 when he came into the league, and played 12 seasons. Too small, too slow, too good to overlook, yet the nfl did. How many people like him are overlooked every day? Well this league was full of them, players, coaches, front office.

Unfortunately for Colin Kapernick there is nothing like the USFL now, because no NFL team will touch him because he's toxic. He can go to the CFL.

He was the pied Piper with an agenda and bad plan. However, the USFL lost $ 163 million in the 3 years. That part can not be blamed on Trump. Besides, he did not hold a gun to any owners head. The others could have voted no.

Great memories! Michigan Panthers were awesome! There are still a lot of Panthers fans around today. The USFL could have been a great football league, but the owners spent themselves into oblivion. Blaming Trump for the demise of the USFL is nonsense.

He was the one who demanded they move to a fall schedule and then sue the NFL. If they hadn't done that they might still be around. Once again Trump's business incompetence cost other people a lot of money.
