This video explores more advanced dual-screen keyframing techniques in DaVinci Resolve Fusion. This should give you the knowledge to be able to go and experiment further with Fusion's keyframing system, as ultimately that's the way you will learn to use it best. Would love to see the camera tutorial! Also the nodes that you showed in the video in more depth and details.
A tip not often mentioned - If you hold CMD+OPT while clicking in the Keyframe/Spline windows you can move your playhead without having to precisely grab it.

Great vids, alot to process in 5 mins, definately worth a few re watches, keep them coming
Thanks, this definitely was like samples of different things in Fusion, but if you look into those nodes especially in combination, there's lots you can do with the knowledge there.
Amazing tutorial! I would love another one just on the 3d part
Glad you liked it! I've got my next couple videos set, but I'll definitely be doing more stuff with the 3D nodes in the future 😀
There are two main plugins I miss since leaving After Effects and that’s Particular and Element 3D. So to learn more 3D in Fusion would be great!!
I have always been a DaVinci Resolve person, so never experienced the plugin marketplace of Adobe products. If Particular deals with particles that's definitely doable in DaVinci, but I haven't looked in depth into them yet. Got a few videos in the line up, but I've added a video about 3D to my plans so keep an eye out for it at point in the future 😀. Thanks for the comment!
@@DvResolveTutorials yes. Patrticular by Trapcode (which was purchased by Red Giant which was purchased by Maxon and turned into a subscription based software) is a really cool and powerful particle system that I preferred over After Effects built in system.
More 3D tutorials would be awesome and appreciated
A video i depth video on 3d would be incredible
Good to hear, my next few videos are already planned in, but I'll definitely be working on this in the background especially as 3D in fusion is something I've found more difficult to pickup, so would be good to help others with that 😀. Thanks is for the comment!
@DvResolveTutorials fosho
Ever since update for 19.1.2 my simple short video projects have started frame dropping like crazy, and the software is constantly going into a (Not responding) state and most of the time will result in a program close out on its own. One day, my playback will be fine, the next day it lags poorly. I see a ton of bug reports on the studio forums as well. Please help us.
Considering posting this on the blackmagic forum instead of here, the devs will have a much higher chance of seeing it.
Having just moved to Mac I have found that sometimes deleting my Cache can solve large slow ups in projects, but that's the only issue I've found so far. May be connected? Definitely post this on the BlackMagic forums or even Reddit too.
Wow, this is really well made :) If all of your other videos are of this quality as well I think your channel can become quite large. The only problem I see at the moment is your thumbnails. They are way too complex. Try simplifying your thumbnails to get across the different videos’ main point quicker :) This is not criticism, just feedback :) Thanks for the video :)
Thanks, glad you like it! The thumbnails are definitely a weak point I'm very aware of. I have little experience with thumbnail making, however I'm going to do some more research into used techniques soon 😀. Moving away from Canva has been my first step to simplify things more recently but hopefully you'll see some simpler more eye-catching thumbnails in the future.
:o
Thx
Continue this series please and one suggestion from my side, make videos about the nodes that no one has ever heard of and how they are useful like the ripple node
I've already got the next couple of videos set, but after that I will definitely return to this series with some more obscure nodes! Thanks for the comment and idea 😀
i was planning to start a series like this, but seems like you won ❤🎉
You should also do it. Everyone has a different perspective and way to explain.
Definitely do it too, I'm sure I'm not the first to have made this type of video either 😀
Simple and clear explanation. Very good short tutorial 👌
Thanks! Hopefully something there can be useful for you 😀
Good stuff 👍
Thanks! Glad you like it 😀
Hi. Love your channel! Question: Say I have a sequence of random numbers triggering the height of a rectangle. If I never want the height to fall to 0, and a 0 value did occur, how could I get the height to maintain the previous value until a higher value occurs using an expression? I’ve tried - iif(Input1 == 0, self[-1], Input1) - But it doesn’t recognise the ‘self’ command. Any ideas are greatly appreciated.
Maybe I misunderstand the situation, however I would have thought the best option is to have the random number generator's range not include 0 so there is no need for this iif statement? Otherwise, look at the highlighted section in this article here, as it may help sorting this: billjustice.com/fusion_expressions_cheat_sheet#:~:text=Text1.Output.Height-,Node%3AGetValue(),-Returns%20a%20property
Hi. Yes, I simplified the issue a little. I’m actually working with midi files and have built a saxophone fingering diagram generator. It works perfectly, but I want the previous diagram to remain onscreen when there’s a 0 value (no note played). So yes, I paraphrased a little! The rectangle analogy severed as a simplified version, but the issue is the same. Any ideas? Could this be done with a modifier in some way?
@@DvResolveTutorials I’m still interested in if it’s possible, however I’ve sorted the issue by writing a python script to alter the midi file itself before loading into the MidiExtractor Modifier. All working finally! Happy New Year! 🎉
Second part coming on the 4th Jan (a week after this upload). There is the opportunity for that to be pushed forward if people want, as it's scheduled already!
Great vid, bring it on!
Fantastic tips. Just landed in your channel and subscribed in the first video (master keyframing). 👍 Keep up the good work. 👏
Thanks, glad you liking it so far!
Oml underrated
See the standalone animation here: th-cam.com/video/6kkL7GCxzVU/w-d-xo.html
hello, thank you for your work, it's very useful but is there a way so that during the animation with decimal numbers (comma or period, like 1.252, it doesn't move in all directions? I I think it's due to kerning but I don't see how to fix it All the decimal number animation tutorial videos have the same problem, the numbers move during the sequence. It's horrible. Do you have a solution THANK YOU?
Thanks for the comment! What you're talking about is called Monospacing. You would want to find a font which is monospaced (each character has the same exact width). This should stop the numbers moving as they change. Fonts like Courier are monospaced, however I'd recommend searching for monospaced fonts and finding one you like the look of the numbers for. Hopefully that's useful for you 😀
@@DvResolveTutorials Hey Thanks, i will try that 😀
