Sea Bass | Ambush Points
A trip to the beach in drizzly foggy conditions. We were up early beating the traffic out of the City. We arrived at the Cliff top amazingly a parking spot was available. The plan was to fish the last two hours of the ebb tide in an area I don't usually attempt with bait. Very snaggy bottom next to some sand. We opted for one rod and one hook due to this ground, fishing with lugworm bait and some Mackerel Heads if bait got low. We had approximately 50 lug from a previous session, it had been in the fridge for 4 days, was quite tough now but in good condition. A good bass sea was rolling in, some red weed about and a bonus edible crab washed up on the beach barely alive. Would a double figure bass be lurking?

Freelining for Bass with Joey Mackerel Flapper

Freelining is one of the most effective ways of fishing with a hook and line. Bass love freeline baits, Peeler Crab or whole fish baits can be used here.
