This game has held up beautifully in 2025. Have you played Wave Race 64?

Didnt know this existed. Now i do. I won't prolly play it again. I think ill stick to snowboard kids and 1080 on n64.

Only reason to get an Xbox nowdays is for the modern port of that game haha.

I played madden 98 on ps1 for a long time and when I went to pass I’d press X X not realizing there were other damn button options to throw…that was a game changer for me

Something tells me you weren’t alive when this game came out😂 probably used to the ps4 maddens but yes people used to have fun just playing simulation football with no micro transactions or madden cards , you just picked a team and played 4 quarters of simulation football, as a madden player since 2000 i used to play multiple seasons of franchise in every game I bought but every after madden 17 I’m lucky to get out of the first season, the new games look great but they play like crap

That's weird. I had both Madden 64 and 98 and thought that they were both dope. I never liked Madden outside of the Nintendo 64 until we got to the PS2 era of Madden.

To complain about graphics is childish, especially when the gameplay has become worse over time with these modern versions. I'll take the gameplay of Madden 64 over Madden 25, but the best Madden with at least a Franchise Mode is 2004 (with Michael Vick on the cover). Having said all that, ESPN NFL 2k5 is still the greatest football game ever made.

In the early 2000’s Madden was designed for PS2. Every other version was an unplayable money grab port. On the N64 only Blitz was worth anyone’s time. At that time Sony also had Gameday which I loved and Gamebreaker. Dreamcast had NFL2K The color gameboy Madden was more playable than the 64 versions 😂

Man madden 64 was awsome at the time. It had the inside the helmet view which was new and cool af. They also had the baseball field mixed in at some of the stadiums. Was cool.af

The nintendo switch online libary you don't own does, even if you pay Nintendo for does library of game it is because once the services is offline you don't have access to them with that console unless Nintendo give a purchase option at that time. Even with the digital stuff that you can purchase and when the services is off you still have access, their is a disclaimer that you don't own it, and before the services turn off they can remove it. If you do something illegal or being accuse of doing something illegal with. Because this happen to me I remember posting Mario and luigi super start saga at the time of Miiverse and you can only do that if you have the game on the WiiU and it was bought legit from Nintendo WiiU e-shop, and when the Miiverse turn off the game disapear with it, and I had to re-buy the game. So someone false reported of doing someting illegal with it, which cause it to be false remove and it cause me to have to re-buy the game that I already bought. The reason why this happen it is because Nintendo is in Japan and the law is diffrent. If you are in Japan and you buy physical thing in Japan and stay in Japan you don't own that physical thing, the one that sell you the item, if you cought using it the way your not suppose to, he has the right to steal it from you, no refund and you can also be banned from purchasing that product, after several re-buy and missused, and it even goes with food. If your suppose to used shop stick and you used a fork in Japan, they can remove all that food from your fridge, and freezer no refund. This is why in Japan they are more people starving. I'm glad I do not live in Japan.

Aspect ratio still doesn't feel right. Some things look appropriately scaled to 16:9 while others look like stretched 4:3 elements.
