    Wind buffeting has been my nemesis on my bike The buffeting is SO violent at 70mph+ , and I am actually considering selling the bike. 55mph or below, LOVE it, but i commute 45mi each way to work on a Tollway where 5tmph will get you ran over. I've tried Powerbronze, Gustuffson, Puig Tours, Madstad, and nothing works I am also 5ft 11in tall. Ride safe!! Edit: Just finished your video. Wow!! What a HUGE difference that one made!! Follow up video on any rides using this screen??

  • @apaulmcdonough2170
    @apaulmcdonough2170 หลายเดือนก่อน

    So How FAST were you going??? Lane Splitting Motorcycles aren't supposed to Exceed 45 MPH. ALL rational "reasons to Split" cease to exist at 45 mph.

    • @1titemoto
      @1titemoto หลายเดือนก่อน

      @apaulmcdonough, looking back at the video, I’m gauging my speed was about 55 to 60 mph. As for lane splitting above 45mph not being a rational decision, while I agree it’s starts to reach my maximum comfort level, I also believe it depends on how and where cars are located while driving. For example, if cars are staggered in different lanes, then you can go faster. I would also venture to say that this is technically not splitting, but weave-merging! I just made that term up! As for the law, this is what I found online. The maximum speed threshold remains 50 mph for lane splitting. However, the differential dropped to 10 mph when traffic flows above 30 mph, and 5 mph when traffic is moving at 30 mph or less. My comfort level is 30-45 mph when traffic is backed up and moving slow; however, I’ve seen others who I’ve let pass, and they are doing 60+. And, at that moment, I often think to myself, I hope I don’t get into an accident! Stay safe out there, and I appreciate you watching the video!

    I'm going in for hip replacement both hips this year (one after the other doe to severe Osteo A) - predominantly because I cant ride more than 20 mins without being in agony and then after 30 minutes - I simply cannot get off the bike...I'm rider trainer, ex racer, previous shop owner, bikes are my therapy and life and now aged 50 - scared as hell to undergo the surgery and praying I get more movement back after surgery. Thanks for posting your video. It shows me it's possible.

      @sire9220, I understand exactly how you feel when you said, “I simply can’t get off the bike!” I laughed out loud when I read that statement! Technology has come so far from 10 or 20 years ago, and I’m very confident that with a great doctor, you’ll find the end result most rewarding. Having both hips done will definitely require more patience from you as you work through physical therapy. Be kind to yourself throughout the process, take it one day at a time, work physical therapy consistently to get your full mobility, and I’m sure you’ll be up a rolling in no time. I’d love to see a pic when you are back up and riding. 🙏🏿Vance (1TITEMOTO)

    Issues from the very beginning. Stuck oil filter! Then due to the angle of the filler hole for rear differential fluid, I had issues getting the fluid back in. So, I wasn’t sure if I over filled it. Then the damn spark plug. Fortunately, after taking it to the dealer, they could that I actually did not strip the head, it was found that the spark plug end had broken off of the plug and stayed in the hole. Good news, I didn’t have to pay for a new head, bad news is the my original plan to save about $400 turned into my paying an additional $1,000. I had them do the 12k and fix the problem. Lesson learned, I’m paying the mechanic next time that 24k comes due. 😂

    Nice demonstration. I run a Werks QuietRide on my RT. Just a little more airflow than an Aeroflow, but still a significant reduction in noise and buffeting compared to stock for my dimensions. @ralaurenzi, Thanks for your comment. You are correct that it’s metric! @1titemoto 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @markmottersjead646, Mark, that’s a great question. In the video, I’m definitely looking through both screens at their highest levels. What I find is that when I’m daily riding with my Aeroflow, I place the top of the windscreen just below my eyesight. Picture it as if you were peeking over a wall! I find this most comfortable for my safety. If I get rain, then I place is completely up and look through the screen. I find the water displaces very well during the rain. However, as soon as it stops, I put it right back just below eye level. I hope that was helpful! Cheers, VA

      @@1titemoto - Thanks for your response. Follow-up, do you find the width of the Aeroflow, especially at the bottom cuts down on the turbulence in comparison with the OEM screen?

    • @1titemoto
      @1titemoto 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @markmotterjead646, I find it definitely covers better than OEM. Areoflow does offer a lower wing that attaches to the fairing that might provide even better lower body leg protection. It’s not to mike liking. I’ve only experienced cold wind issues at knee and below. Thermals could easily solve that problem. As for the hands, they are slightly better protected against wind than OEM also. And I do mean slightly! 😂

    I had Aeroflow screens on my R1100GS, R1200GSA, R1200GS and F800GS over a 20 year period. They are unquestionably the best designed screens around. I understand they are only released once comprehensive real world testing is carried out and have sophisticated shapes with compound curve and air ducts. I also used their side wind deflectors which lessened wind effects. Highly recommended.

      @MeEtnorb, I agree with you 100%. I love my Aeroflow windscreen. I have not used the side protectors purely due to the fact that I personally don’t like the aesthetics of them. However, I can only assume, they work just as well as the windscreens. Thank you for sharing your thoughts!

    I brought a brand new Indian Chieftain Limited and it was the worse bike I’ve ever owned. The bike went into limp mode at 2,000 miles. It wouldn’t go above 30 mph. Also, I was in a state where I was unfamiliar. I thought Indian/Polaris would aid me since the bike was under warranty, but they didn’t. I had to have the bike towed to the dealer I brought it from . After sending it to two different dealers, they told me that the bike had software issues. And they had to build a new software for it. I asked how long would that take, and they said they don’t know. I asked could they just replace the bike. And Polaris/Indian said that they couldn’t replace it. So they expected me to pay for a bike I couldn’t ride. The bike couldn’t be repaired or replaced yet, they expected me to pay for it. I traded that piece of junk for a new Harley Davidson Road Glide Special. The HD dealers are easy to find and they honor their warranty. Be careful with Polaris/ Indian. The bikes and the company are trash.

While I’m sure there are many folks out there who will disagree that the motos and the company are trash, I think we are all in agreement that everyone should do their due diligence when purchasing a motorcycle from anywhere! Again, I appreciate you sharing your experience.

    I bought the Goldwing DCT and its a very solid platform. I'd love to have a Twin bagger but having recently ridden both the Indian challenger and the cheiftain and then ridden the Harley Street glide special and the Road king Indian are 2 for 2 over the Harleys. Cheaper yet better built and more features as standard on both indians. It's no longer even a contest. The only reason anyone buys Harleys is ignorance or brand loyalty. No ones going to prefer to have LEDs in the headlights only when indian has them in brakes and indicators too. No one is going to want a shock that gives less than half the travel of the Fox shock on the back of the challenger. No one wants to buy a CVO in order to get bags that lock on the Electronic key. Therefore people either dont know how much more you get or just stick with Harley cause its all they know. Harley bangs on about dealers everywhere but they are closing those dealers and modern bikes shouldn't need somone who can fix it in every town if they have decent reliablity. If you ride a Harley and are not locked in to a brand then try the Indian they're just better.

      @jag1963, that’s a solid response. I appreciate you taking the time to share your thoughts. I think you hit the nail on the head when you said brand loyalty. Harley has done a tremendous job with the branding of their motorcycles. So much so, it’s become America’s motorcycle. I too agree, you get so much more out the box with Indian. However, I sometimes still find myself googled eyed about the looks of the Road Glide and Street Glide. Yet, I continue ride ride my BMW with pride with anyone who’ll ride with me. Thanks again for your thoughtful response. Stay up and ride carefully!

      @mrwhite2628, I appreciate you taking time to comment. Can you elaborate a little on what makes Indian a better product than Harley?

      @@1titemoto In the last 20 years of my touring life. I've covered several hundred thousand miles. From 2000 to 2010. On HDs. They stranded me all over the country. Switched to Goldwings in 2011. Haven't had a single problem but a couple of fork seals. Haven't even thought about being stranded in years. My friend got a Challenger when it came out. It has been rock solid for over 50k miles. Better motor, better suspension. More reliable! It is the only bike I would consider, other than a Goldwing. Honda blows them both away. IMO!

    Thanks for posting video. My grandparents lived in Idyllwild circa 1950-1980. Grandma worked at the gift shop and Gramps ran the market in Mountain center. I was up there two years ago…cool town. I currently reside in the Inland Empire and ride a rt1250. Safe travels.

      @gettheskins, that place is a gorgeous little town. Oh the beauty those mountain towns offer. I hope to see more during my travels! Glad you enjoyed the video, thanks for watching and safe travels to you on your 1250rt. Maybe one day, we’ll cross paths!

    Road glide limited owner here. I like the new pursuit indian came out with. I think it comes down to preference and dealership network. There is no indian dealer in my city but there is a HD. Love my glide

      @harryhowell5644, I definitely about it being a preference thing. Harley has a huge following and very large infrastructure setup. Easier to find dealers within proximity. Thanks for your thoughts!

    I've had Harleys for 20 years with the last being a Street Glide, and I spent a ton of time researching fixed fairing bikes. I ultimately decided on a Wing DCT Tour, and it's an absolutely incredible bike. Indian Pursuit and K1600GA were close second. Road Glide Ltd was last of the bunch. Harley was most expensive with the least power and features by a long shot.

      @markman7, Ohhhh - that’s a big boy right there! And, it has reverse. Got to love that! Do they allow test rides on those beauties?

      That's it right there. If you want to pay the most money for the least features and power go for the Harley. Sad but true.

    Indian Challenger all day, actually the Indian pursuit.

      @ericperry72, That Indian Pursuit does look nice. I’m assuming it’s comparable to the “Harley Ultra Classic Electra Glide?”

      @@1titemoto nope it's the direct competitor to the road glide. So coming from a torque monster like my m109r, The pursuit has 124 HP and 124 lb ft torque. But over the winter I'll add the exhaust and get the Lloyd's tune and new cams, putting that baby at a Dyno certified 142hp and 143lb ft of torque! All while cruising from Detroit to Mississippi!
