With regards to art, I hear what you're saying about being able to view the art in your home and in different emotional states, etc. But I find what happens for me is that the art on my walls just becomes part of the wall and I stop looking at it very often unless I do so very intentionally. Whereas in a museum I'm confronted with new and unseen things and it's easier for those things to have an impact. I've definitely been stopped in my tracks at a museum by a piece that made me feel a certain way, and that doesn't happen at home, but also you can't develop a relationship with the museum piece, unless you're going there all the time. Probably the curation/atmosphere of either location can entrance or detract from those experiences as well.

Before you read the rest, *Edit:* Wait I think I understand. If you take a seat from someone else that person would just get a different flight, so overall more planes actually make the trip I will say, I disagree that buying another seat increases your carbon footprint. How much fuel a plane uses depends on the weight, so if you buy two seats you're actually decreasing your carbon footprint at the cost of a bunch more money, right? Because there's one less person on the plane, so it would be lighter. I do think taking a seat away from another potential person is kinda selfish though.

fun fact, in the arctic the only natural disaster is winter. if you do not dress warm enough you'll lose blood in your fingers and toes and then they'll have to get removed. i was always told that as a child 💀

You can't just buy two seats on the plane in the same name on most flights -maybe for USA internal flights idk about that- but generally if you buy two seats and only one person turns up they will give it to one of the people they have over-sold the tickets to. I've seen it on those documentary/reality shows about airports and they don't care if you wanted extra space they will still sell it to someone else and you won't even get a refund.

What's the difference between "dying" by teleportation and just falling asleep. I lose awareness of myself when I fall asleep but wake up with the same memories. It feels similar to me in that my consciousness could have "died" to some degree before waking up and continuing on with my life like nothing happened.

Austin your vacuum is actual trash if it can't suck up dust which almost literally has no weight unless its wet. It's the lightest thing it should be able to pick up and the main reason to own it. What *does* your vacuum pick up if not dust?

@16:00 Austin you're so fucking right about how to view paintings honestly... I'm a fine arts painter, so I'm particularly biased, but one of my biggest beefs with art museums/galleries is that 5 minutes is nowhere near the attention span necessary to let a really good painting sink into you. Tbh I think a certain subset of people don't "know how to interact with art" (though there is no WRONG way, just to be clear. It's different for every individual), and the pressurized and exhausting environment of a museum is not conducive towards the interaction to begin with (bonus points if they do not provide any accessible, actually useful information regarding the pieces or artist). I once stayed overnight as a guest in a gallery and the opportunity to really learn, study, and develop a relationship directly with a painting was rather profound.
